Hau needed a plan. Whatever these people wanted from him, he was not going to give it willingly. There was a ravine on the side of the apartment property, it was the path he usually followed when he skirted the buildings at night. He knew it well in the dark, but the pitted and uneven ground might trip up his pursuers. And it only got more challenging if they followed it out into the woods that bordered this edge of town. The forest was where Hau was born and where he felt most at home, if there was anywhere he was sure to lose them it was there.
However, if he followed along the street there was always the chance that he might find help. But it was also equally likely, considering how dangerous this group was proving to be, that he’d only put someone else in peril. And that was something Hau didn’t want to consider.
He made a quick course correction for the ravine. No sooner had he done so then he heard the pop of a gun firing behind him and an impact like someone had punched him in the back. Hau stumbled, twisting, trying to get a hand back where he’d felt the blow but it was barely out of reach. They’d shot him! These psychos had guns! The fresh surge of adrenaline drove him on faster.
The grass eventually gave way to a sharp incline into the ravine, at the foot of which was a dry creek bed full of leaves and rocks and trash. Hau’s legs trembled and gave halfway down the slope, sending him tumbling head over heels to the bottom. He scrambled back to his feet, lurched with sudden dizziness, and went back down on his hands and knees. “Fuck…” he breathed. This was so bad. So, so bad.
He was gasping for breath, his heart was galloping in his chest, he was definitely panicking but his body was struggling to respond to his fear. His muscles felt loose, his limbs uncoordinated. That shot must have been a tranquilizer. Who knew how much longer he’d be conscious for? His mind spun, trying to formulate a plan. If they thought he was out already, and if they all came in close enough, he might have just enough time to transform and freeze them in place. It was a long shot, but it was all he had. Hau dropped flat, closing his eyes, waiting.

With the slow moving mud now settling around Stenson, the moisture from it soaking through his uniform, he tried to look up and back over his shoulder. He could no longer see the man from where he was, the spot he'd seen him before was now empty. Perhaps he'd landed a direct? The idea of killing the man was never a happy outcome in the officer's mind, and he had to take a moment to quell the uneasy feeling in his gut at knowing he might've taken a life. Humans were aggressive and cruel at times, but even still their lives were worth protecting whether good or bad, at least so that they could face justice later on.
Thankfully, the level of the landslide had begun to drop as it spread across the forest floor. Where it had earlier been almost halfway up his chest, it had now lowered to his waist, then his knees, and now about the middle of his shins. His arms pulled free with a suction sound, caked in earthen muck, allowing him to stand up again, albeit awkwards. He looked around, trying to see if Zavijah had managed to move to safer ground and felt his heart sink as he noticed her lying nearby, her right side buried in mud.
"Zavijah!" He cried, and pulled his feet and legs free from the earth with a grunt of effort. His steps were labored, but with a few wide-stepping strides, he had made it to his comrade. There was a strange humming sound in his ears, distant but noticeable, and all around Zavijah there seemed to be red lines and symbols appearing. "Come on, take my hand. Back up is on it's way, we need to get you safe." He said, grabbing Zavijah gently but firmly by her free arm. He was careful to try and pull her free, still aware of her earlier injuries. If she showed any signs of pain, he would quickly let go and try taking her by the shoulders instead to loose her from the grip of the mud. The flashlights up ahead still weren't moving, but seemed to be directed inwards on themselves now, as if the group were searching each other rather than their path ahead. The landslide must've reached them too, sticking them in place by their feet and legs.

zavijah:
she could hardly hear the officer over the loud caterwaul tune, hardly focus from how heavily her head shook. . .she had struck her head on perhaps a rock or branch on the way down, having earned a cut on the side of her head near her temple on the right side . . . when the mud level lowered, although there was not much of a change between where it was and what it became where zavijah was, there was an ominous piece of wood although cannot be seen, the officer might feel with his feet should he had kicked it or bumped into it with his foot. . to either a fallen log or more timber, it was hard to tell the initial size without abit of investigation. . . . . she tensed when he pulled at her arm and she felt resistance at where her leg and arm was. . . . she tried to grab at his hand and pull as he attempted to pull. . .however, regardless if she was attempting or not, she felt like she was stuck. . .
". . .Stenson, I pinned. . . " she stated through gritted teeth. . .she could not hear over the deafening sounds. . .only gaining a cue as to what he was attempting to do when he grabbed for her . . ." If too many come . . . . . .run. . . . anyone born of blue hair. . .protect them at all costs from them. . . . " she stated, glancing at the officer, she could not hide the knowing look that the ones who harmed her, might be the same who will come. . . she did not fear what they would do to her- they will either succeed or fail and have more of a difficult time attempting to reach her within a volcano. . . . . this was IF, the group that now was beckoned by the seal succeeds.
unknown to zavijah, Stenson and the others, some of the ones coming were arriving by foot, since the burning sensation was too much to drive with, while some opted to car pool, some even distracted with hunting down the next to be lamb to be bothered with moving in at the moment in assumption that enough of them would go to see where the escaped lamb was and move to capture if possible. but most, if not all were driven by this urge to come. . .the beckoning of the seal . . . like a toll bell calling apon the lost to return. or the yearning to return home, after a long and tedious day at work . . .although the time was limited, the two still had plenty of time to make their move since the call had just been sent. . . as disorienting as it was to the swordsman.
regardless, she still struggled against the bark, although in vain due to her lack in needed strength to be able to roll it enough to free herself. that and the fact Stenson was now trying to grab her by the shoulders. . . . she struggled and tried her damnest to get out of there. . . get off of the ground that roared and screamed, while it only seemed to hum and whisper to those without painfully sensitive hearing. . . not giving a damn apon her previous injuries since hurting herself or being recaptured to be skinned and cut into while she was alive were her options. . . . . well, shes not going to give up without a fight. . .
---------------------------------------------------------------
the man who fired his gun seemed to whoop in celebration, he hit him! for once in his life he didn't just clip the bastard, or hit a part where the victim could yank it out, he got em square on! beer worthy in his eyes. . . . the others seem to either jeer as if they shot a deer during a hunt or remained quiet and focused at the task at hand. . . one of them seemed to slow down before one of the others barked at him to 'go ahead of us, we will catch up after we clean up here. ' the young man seemed hellbent on coming with but with the teasing of the others, he grumbled and hurried away towards the site. teasing about 'being scolded by the old man for being a chicken' was enough to make him leave. . .
so the one who's wrist burned at him from the calling left to go towards the site, as Abby exited her apartment and hurried out as well, having put a wig on fairly well enough for it to be mistaken as dyed hair. all the while wearing a large coat over her clothing, and a hat to cover her face and head. . . .
when the four had happened apon Hau, face down in the dirt of the moist ravine. . . they jeered and mocked him. . . one of the boys talked about 'having some fun' with him since they cant exactly put him down yet as they neared where Hau laid, slowed as they were careful to try and not fall down the steep slope. . .though one of the women pointed out it was not time to prepare him yet. . . though the 'last point' does need to be measured out and set up for the lamb. . " just because hes a potential halfblood doesn't mean we need to jump the gun . . .we will need to confirm this first. . . ."
"eh, well, Thankfully, their slurs and official labelings are so vague to us, no body would even have a clue as to what the phantom races are. . . just mere unidentified bodies to be cremated and burned when nobody claims em. . . . if he doesn't turn out to be what we need, we just take care of him. . . . no witnesses. . . no problems. . ." one of the men sighed, before finally making it to the 'floor' of it. "alright, wasted enough time, lets get the lamb in a crate already. " he waved, before the four of them moved onto the ravine, the women moving to grab onto his arms while one of the men started to eye the fox's pockets, mostly gleaming at their handy work. . . . the fourth one stood on the ravine as well, near the other three, all with the assumption that he was out of it, falling for the ruse of the fox.
The tranquilizer itself, although had the fox remain calmed would of lulled the victim to unconsciousness. . .the fact that his adrenaline was pumping through his veins help hinder the tranquilizer's effect. . .

It wasn't hard to tell where his pursuers were. Hau listened as their jeering voices came closer and closer, heard their feet crunching heavily through the grass and dried leaves. He tried to pay attention to what they were saying but his thoughts were scattered and slow, his mind was as sluggish as his body it seemed. It took all the focus he could muster to just remember his plan.
Wait until they close in. Don't open your eyes. Don't let them know.
A touch to his arm sent Hau's heart racing again, he hadn't realized they were right on top of him already. Without a thought, he grabbed for that second ice-cold heart inside him and let the fox go free.
Immediately he was consumed by blue fire, the eruption of which would push anyone touching him away with the force of a hard shove. Although the flames were not hot, anything that touched Hau's skin that resisted in any way - clothes, jewelry, restraints, etc. - dissolved beneath it. Whatever remained loose just fell away, the tranquilizer dart dropped from his back to land among the other trash on the bed of the creek. When the foxfire subsided, his skin had been burned away to reveal vibrant blue fur and a form that had been totally remade. He closely resembled a fox now except he was enormous by comparison. Were he standing, his head would easily reach past the hips of a normal person. His ears were oversized to match and his waist skinnier than would seem proportional. His pursuers would see now that he wasn't what they wanted. And they would also see that he wasn't to be messed with either.
The whole transformation took only a matter of seconds. And as soon as he felt the rush of his new power, Hau's eyes snapped open and he managed to roll himself mostly upright before lashing out at the people surrounding him. He pushed all his fear and frustration into the attack, ice forming out of nowhere all around him, racing across the ravine floor from where he lay toward those that cornered him. Between one moment and the next their feet would be covered, anchoring them to the ground, as the ice advanced up their legs to their heads at surprising speed. There was a chance they could escape, but the window was small before their limbs froze in place and they wouldn't be able to move. Very quickly, they’d be stuck like statues encased in ice that was half an inch thick or more.
This was his chance, he could escape now. But between the drugs still rampaging through his system and the exertion of the attack his head was spinning too much to stand. In a brief moment of mental clarity, he knew that he'd overreacted. That attack had been clumsy and excessive. All he needed to do was pin them. Now a good chunk of the ravine was a veritable skating rink. If he covered their faces, if ice had gotten in their mouths or their noses, they might suffocate. As scared of them as he was, he didn't wish to kill these people. But he also needed them to remain trapped long enough to recover and get away, if they managed to free themselves before then he might very well be doomed. As it was, he was completely enervated. His head drooped down to the shiny cold floor of the ravine, no strength left to hold it up. All he needed was a little rest. Just a moment. Then he would flee. Hau closed his eyes, unsure what he’d find when he opened them again.

Zavijah mumbled words of warning, urging him to run and protect someone with blue hair at all costs, most of which Stenson had no idea what she was talking about. It could be her state of being, maybe she was delirious? Either way, his efforts did not pause or falter. She struggled against the grip of the mud while Stenson helped where he could. To loosen the ground's grip, Stenson bent and began to push a hand between Zavijah's arm and the mud, hoping to break the suctioned seal that held her in place. If it worked, he would do the same for her leg as well, at least until she was free. His other hand kept its supportive grip on her shoulder or arm, whichever seemed best for her.
As he helped Zavijah, beams began to flash all about them. The sounds of voices grew louder, signaling that the officers who had before been preoccupied were now finally arriving. Jay's voice rang out amongst them, eager and demanding.
"Jones! You alright, mate? Answer me!" He shouted, to which Stenson called back a quick "Yes, here!"
Soon, more arms joined to help Zavijah up, Jay among them.

zavijah:
she felt his hand slide against her arm in the mud as well as it bumping into what felt like a branch that pinned her arm against the tree behind her. . . him pushing around at the mud to remove suction revealed a sizable branch that was connected to more limber that held the small swordsman in place. if she pulled hard enough, it looked as though she might be able to slip loose, though it was a deceiving look. . . again, she was not strong enough to simply pull herself free. . if anything, she was beginning to pop her own shoulder joint out of place as she struggled to free herself from the wood. . . meanwhile the grip on her arm help keep her from sinking in any deeper from the two of them wiggling about and shifting the mud around. . . then she winced a the sudden lights that whipped around and at them. . . she could only assume they were the lights Stenson wanted her to escape to prior to her losing her grip. . .
a thought came to her. . .which would be useful if she could access her butt purse without the mud escaping into it and ruining the scroll paper. . . if she could pull out a whale talisman . . .to absorb all of the water from the immediately surrounding area. . .however. . .there were draw backs to this. . .she does not know if the talisman can discern difference between bodies within the mass of water soaked earth. . .sure it was able to tell she was a separate body of water, there for not the target. . . but what of Stenson and now company that approached?. . .not something she was willing to test if it meant it might kill them. . . .and all just to save herself? the more she thought on it as she struggled and as Stenson and now the others tried hard to free her, the more it disgusted herself. a potentially useful trick if she was alone. . . . .not worth their lives to see if it would spare them in turn for removing the water from the mud. . . .
it would not be until either they began to try and pull the buried branch group from her or if they tried to shove the tree she was pinned against down hill- creating a lever system of sorts that would pivot at the roots and push the down'd branches away enough to mechanically open the stubborn gap ajar. . . - that they would be able to free her. . .if not simply breaking the branches where they do pin her while it was held in place to avoid the weight of the rocks, branches, mud and debris from shoving onward to close the sudden small gap of wiggle room. . .or so she thought. . . the combined forces of the back up, more back up, as well as Stenson who was already fairly strong in his own right- were able to free her arm when they were both pulling at her as well as at the branch pinning her. . .
of course, her right arm felt like it was seething with pain when it popped out of the nook where it was trapped. now not only from the continued sensation of having been skinned, but now a large blackening mark formed where she was pinned, and more bruising that detailed the path her arm went when it was forcibly pulled free from what pinned her to the tree. . two hideous trailing marks along the length of her arm. . now it was just her leg. . . her leg. . .she gritted her teeth and winced as they continued, though . . .perhaps if they approached this slow and methodically it would only hinder them long enough to give time for the other group to catch up with them. . . .she did not have enough turtle talismans on hand at the time to give them all protection. . . . hiding behind Stenson might actually be lethal seeing that the turtle talisman's main purpose is to protect the wearer from harm, by whipping arrows and shaftless arrows around the wearer instead of stopping the shots dead in their tracks. . it might be wiser just to rip her out of this and deal with the wounds later when they were safe. . . .
perhaps they did plan apon escaping with her in tow. . .
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
as now three of the thugs began to touch the blue haired lamb. . .there was a sputter of surprised gasps escaping their lips when the man turned into a rather intimidating sized fox of blue fur. . . two off the three fell onto their bums amidst their reaction of seeing a man suddenly caught on fire as he shifted into a form of a fox. . . well, shet the man was right, he definitely was not the one they were after. . as the fox froze them in place, one hardly had time to grab for their gun, one was in too much shock to move, one attempted to stand up and flee, while the other whipped around in agasp as he too- was encased in ice. . . all four remaining thugs were encased in ice. . . the moistened earth provided all the water Hau could of dreamed off. . if anything it looked like a bomb from Mr. Freeze's arsenal on Batman went off and exploded. . .leaving tips of the top of the impact visible to those not within the creek. . .
Abby witnessed this as she left her apartment, she had just spoken to the one who left the group for the seal and had just told him to go ahead of her. . .she wanted to clear her head as she walked when she saw. . . that. . .
it was both revealing to her and concerning to her. . . that Hau was not a halfblood. . .though now he knows. . . something tells her he will never be able to go back to normal ever again. . . she started to step towards the general direction of the river bed before stopping. . . something was wrong. . . .neither Hau or the others were leaving . . . true she now does not feel bad for gaining a bit of a crush for the young man, but. . . . .she did this to him too . . . . everything in her gut was both urging her to do something, while her head gnawed at her to do nothing. . . she held her breath in thought before she walked over towards one of the remaining pay phones that was across the street. . . one of the reasons she liked this area- no cameras. . she then dug in her purse for quarters before slipping in 3 of them. . . and dialing the police's number. . .
"hello? . . . I just saw this gang attack this guy with blue hair, one of them used some sort of magic and now theres alot of ice where they were standing. . "
she relayed in a worried voice. helps when the thought of her being caught doing this by the people she was with would get her in alot of trouble. . "this was at the dried riverbed near the Villages Apartments. . " she explained
" my name is-"
"YOU BITCH!"
she was interrupted when the male from earlier returned to see what was the hold up. . . he quickly ripped the phone from her head and slammed it against the dock.
"Who was that and what did you tell them?" He demanded.
"Nothing!" She replied.
"Bullshet you said nothing! Who were you talking to? I know you were telling someone somethin about where we were standing " he growled. . .
"I was just-" she started before a well placed fist planted firmly apon her face, slamming her against the inside of the booth . . .
"You make me sick. . . . . I honestly don't know what's worse, you betraying us for a halfblood or the fact you seduced the last flucker to get him to come with you to come with you where we were waiting. " he growled before grabbing her by the arm and dragging her to her feet and with him towards the seal.
"Let's get this over with, boss man will definitely want a word with your backstabbing ass."
With the nature of the call, dispatch relayed what had just happened to the WSDA police force. . . .magically appearing ice was definitely not a mundane thing. officers were also dispatched to the area however to try and gain an idea as to what occurred to the 911 caller. caller ID suggested it was a pay phone some ways away from the Cafe. . .

Awareness settled heavily over Hau, and with it the slowly dawning realization that things were not alright. What exactly wasn't right, he had a hard time putting his finger on. Or, at this moment, his paw. He was in fox form, that filtered through clearly. His body felt weighted down and his stomach roiled unpleasantly. Various aches and pains formed a low background throbbing. What had happened? His memories were loose and foggy. He wanted to fall back to sleep, to burrow back into dark obliviousness, but he felt a peculiar nagging to open his eyes.
As soon as he did so, there was suddenly no forgetting what had happened. Moonlight caught the glistening edges of four forms surrounding him, all covered in a ghostly layer of ice, all still unmoving. Were they breathing? He couldn't tell. A sudden wave of fear and doubt helped push back the weariness and he struggled to his feet.
He must not have been out too long. Changing forms always threw his metabolism into overdrive, perhaps it had burned through some of the sedative. He still felt groggy and, as he gathered his limbs underneath him, his muscles felt weak and uncoordinated. This would all pass given enough time, all that really mattered was that he was in control again. His stomach stubbornly rebelled against being upright though, and as he hadn't eaten in who knew how long all he managed was a round of painful dry heaves. With several deep breaths he steadied himself again, allowing himself a small miserable whine as he did so.
Hau wanted to check on his captives, wanted to make sure they were okay, but he knew he wasn't out of danger yet. He had been confronted by five people and only four were here in the ravine with him. Where had the last gone? Were more coming? As if on cue, the crunch of tires on gravel met his ears. Someone was pulling into the apartment's parking lot, perhaps multiple someones, it was hard to tell. Hau tensed, torn between the trapped figures and escape. But if this was backup, they'd surely help their own. It wasn't worth sticking around a second longer.
On wobbly legs Hau headed away from the apartments, following the creek bed to the woods as he had originally planned. He couldn't head back to the motel, what if they followed? If they found him there he had no where else to go. He needed help. Police help. He had some change, if he could find a phone... except that money was frozen to the ground back in the ravine. Along with his wallet and his ID. Hau stumbled to a halt as he realized what he'd left behind. All his personal information was there. How stupid could he be? He teetered on the edge of turning back but decided against it, coming up with a different solution. He'd head back to the cafe. If his cellphone was there, it was in the back room and there was a strong possibility it had escaped harm since the fire hoses had been concentrated on the front of the building. From there he could call the authorities, then he could come back here and retrieve his stuff when the coast was clear. It would be hard for anyone to find his things in the dark of night anyway. At least, he really hoped so.

With his hands now in the mud, Stenson could better feel the obstructions holding Zavijah in place. Now that the other officers had joined them, the task had become considerably easier, and soon Stenson had a hold of the buried branches, lifting them away as best as he could to help give the others a brief moment of unhindered access to their trapped friend. Then, after a long moment of effort, Stenson was relieved to feel Zavijah's limbs come free from beneath the mud and debris. Once she was clear, Stenson let go of the branch with an exhale.
Now that she was free, Stenson couldn't help but notice the darkening bruises now forming on Zavijah's skin.
"Zavijah, are you ok? Can you stand?" He kept his arm around her just in case, more or less holding her up. "Do any of you have medical supplies?" He asked around the others.

zavijah:
when they freed her leg and she was lifted from the mud. . . this broke contact with the earth. . .causing the lines to turn black and fade away and for the rather deafening sound to die down. . . though she opted to just hold her feet and or body up from the ground if it was attempted to set her down on the ground again. . . she forced herself to focus enough to be able to clearly state what was going on. . they need to know the urgency of the situation and clearly her previous attempt to tell Stenson to run fell apon deaf ears. . . .
"forgive me. . .but please do not set me down. . . . this is a mountain sized seal, one that should never exist. . . . .those involved with this have far more dangerous motives planned should they succeed. . . what had just occurred was a calling apon those attached to the seal. . . the ones who skinned me. . ." she explained. "we need to leave here now. . . I'll live, but non of us will survive the night should we remain where we can become surrounded by them. . . " she continued.
they can tend to the broken arm when they had reached the cars or at least returned to their HQ where they would be safer. . . her leg, luckily was just heavily bruised, but no broken bones from that attempt to extract it from the fallen limbs. . . though she was not able to move her right arm. . just monkey holding herself up, hanging off whoever was holding onto her
though as they stood, they mud began to writhe and move before receding towards somewhere behind the group of officers and swordsman.
------------------------------------------
red and blue lights flashed from one of the cruisers as they drove up before some of the officers began to search the area. . . non of them were yet aware of where the victim or the attackers might be. . . they were prepared for the potentiality of they might be walking into a trap. . . though when one of the officers stumbled apon the newly risen ice sculpture, it was a radio confirmation of Ice magic being used. 4 victims? surrounding a point, one was abit more uphill then the other three while the other three seemed to surround the center point. . .
as they studied this, it appeared more of a self defensive attack rather then just a ramped attack, seeing two of the 3 trapped either had their hand in the pocket as if they were pulling something, or was in mid unsheathing of a knife. . . while the further one also seemed to reach for something, perhaps a gun. . . . so new question. . . where did the victim go? where they injured or alright?
one of them opted to just call out.
"hello? this is the police! Is anyone here?" in the attempt that maybe the victim was close enough and conscious and able to come back. . . and optimistic attempt. . . there was always the brutal reality of just finding yet another body. . .

Hau paused, head up, ears flicking back. Had he heard something? He craned to see behind himself, eyes frantically scanning the woods. He didn’t smell anything out of place. Didn’t see anything in the deep shadows of the trees and bushes. There was almost no way anyone could’ve followed him while he was in this form, the fox’s senses were overwhelming him with input. Even in his current condition, he wouldn’t mistake the scent of people out in the middle of all this green but his thoughts still ran wild with suspicion.
Giving himself a little shake, teetering on his shaky legs, he continued towards the café. He’d not traveled this specific route before, but he was fairly confident of the direction. At least, he was confident until his front paws splashed into a little stream that crossed the path. This wasn’t supposed to be here. He didn’t remember any streams in the area… unless he’d wandered off course. Hau huffed a sigh, hanging his head with a frustrated whine. That would figure. His brain was still muddled from the drugs, the nausea stubbornly persistent. Dipping his nose towards the cool water, he took a long drink, hoping that having something in his stomach might ease the discomfort.
He had to find his way back to town. He seemed to recall there were hiking trails somewhere around here, if Hau could find those, or the parking lot that marked the trail heads, or - even better - the road that led back into Wathais, he could practically follow it right to the café’s front door. Licking the last of the moisture off his whiskers, he set off again.

The obnoxious thrumming sound from earlier promptly died as Stenson and the others managed to get Zavijah off the ground. Even the strange lines seemed to recede.
"I won't set you down" Stenson reassured at Zavijah's words. She still seemed out of it, but overall looked to be coming around now that she was no longer trapped. Stenson and the others listened intently as Zavijah gave some kind of explanation. A seal? Those involved? In total, with Jay and Stenson counted, there were at least five police officers gathered along with Zavijah. How many of these cultists were there to be able to threaten 5 WDSA officers?
"We're not staying," Stenson said, looking around. Even if they were a big enough group, now that Zavijah was injured again and there were armed suspects expected to be in the area, they needed to get out. Jay, already a step ahead, reached for his radio. It crackled angrily at him when he tried to speak. "Signal's funny." He said after a few tries. "We'll need tah get back to the cars."
"Roger that." Stenson replied, hoisting Zavijah onto his back as they had before. "Hold on as best as you can, Zavijah. But be careful of your arm." He turned to set off back the way they'd come, but as his eyes fell to the muddy ground he froze. It was....moving....His breath caught in his chest as he watched the ground begin to writhe around their ankles before pulling back and away from them as if watching the entire flood happen in reverse. It tugged at his pant-legs as it went, and he steadied himself to keep from losing his balance. Was the other suspect still alive? If so, he might still have a gun. "Officers, alert!" The other officers upholstered their guns, backing towards each other to keep eyes on all sides with Zavijah in the center. Jay held his gun in one hand, while the other sparked slightly with building electrical energy.

zavijah:
she was rather relieved that they were not intending apon staying. . . . .good, they will not perish due to this little extrusion. . . she glanced between the officers as they spoke abit before Stenson hoisted her onto his back as they were prior. . . "Hold on as best as you can, Zavijah. But be careful of your arm." he stated. "worry not, Stenson. . . I will take heed. . . though this would not be the first time Ive had need to hold on or climb with broken limbs. . . . " she replied. though hear ear twitched at the sudden slick sounds of soaked earth writhed and rushed away from them. . . . .
she glanced towards the mud and looked to see what direction it headed before looking towards the direction it was being pulled towards. . . though she was abit taken aback that the group opted to surround her in a defensive formation. . . before back towards the aura. . " . . .there is one behind the tree. . . .whomever it was, they were apon the ground last I've noticed after. . . .landing. . . ." she quietly stated
instead of attacking, however, it seemed as though the enemy was not exactly coming too, in-fact it seemed like he was attacking himself rather then preparing to attack the group. . . .whats worse, the skeletal bodies that he had started to raise prior were also surrounding him due to the interruption of the raising spell he attempted to cast prior to being knocked out by the stone officer. . . the only good part was the shear amount of skeletal bodies kept the man from drowning as well as kept him from being attacked by the officers. . . . .
much to everyone's detriment, the soil they were standing on was becoming looser and looser. . . if there was a time to run, now was the time before the man truly woke up and figure out what was going on.

the police officers that had gathered at the crime scene continued their search, non were the wiser that the one they looked for was not in human form, nor where the vixen might be at the current moment. if anything, they thought to look towards the apartment complex. . and went to look and see if anyone present had witnessed or heard anything that could be useful. . . . anything at all. . .
meanwhile, the four who at one point posed a threat to the kistune's life, have themselves, lost their own. . .asphyxiation, hypothermia, shock, cardiac arrest. . . whichever had claimed them first, did not matter. . . they were gone. . . . .unfortunately with no identifying marks or any of the sort to be able to identify the bodies. should they look further into it, their finger tips and palms were seared to where those particular marks were removed. . . .teeth were grounded to where the dental records are null. whatever cash they had on them it was just that. . . cash. no cards or anything of the sort that could link them to a bank they might of went to while they were alive. . .
similar to a cataclysmic event. . . all whom were called apon would of noticed the sudden disappearance of the calling. . . their wrists no longer burned, there was no disembodied voice calling to them to come. either via screams, their name, or a tone similar to an ominous cultist church. some of them were left dazed and confused for a moment, while others were rather disappointed they moved too slowly. .
some saw this as a chance not too late, so they continued on the slim chance that the lost lamb was still close enough or within the woods for them to spot and capture. Abby and the young man hulling her along, also noticed the lack of burning and the sudden mental silence of the seal. . . while the both were disappointed that the seal no longer called to them, the young man hatched an idea. . . "If you help me capture the lost lamb. . . . . I wont say a peep about this to the boss . . " he stated. "Alright, I will help you. " she replied.
the young man was alittle relieved by this quick reply but still. . . . . he hated her for her betrayal. . . who said that he will clarify that they need to capture her tonight?

The night wind shifted, bringing with it the unique scent of human. Hau froze, nose working furiously, trying to discern direction and distance but the scent was faint and intermittent. Not close, at least. Still, a shiver of fear raised his hackles and he was suddenly very aware of how bright his fur was in the moonlight. Mentally berating himself for not doing so sooner, Hau dropped to the ground and rolled awkwardly in the dirt and leaves, trying to dull the shine of his coat.
Lurching back to his feet, he decided to give the stranger a wide berth. While it was possible that it was just someone out on a nighttime hike, Hau wasn’t feeling bold enough to find out for sure. He passed by as quietly and quickly as he could manage, not trusting his balance enough to run, but his long legs still set a good pace.
His adrenaline flagging, his focus slipping, all he could think about was how nice that awful, lumpy motel bed sounded when he nearly walked into the broad side of a car. Surprised back into awareness, he glanced around to find himself at the edge of a parking lot. In front of him was a darkened police cruiser, one of many it appeared. That couldn’t be a good sign. So the stranger had been a cop. Or a bad guy that they were pursuing. Hau tried to recall the scent, committing what he could to memory in case he encountered it again.
Well, this was better than he could have hoped for. Maybe he wouldn’t have to go all the way to the café after all. But what could be going on that so many cops had come out here? And did he even want to investigate? The idea of tracking anyone through the woods at this unholy hour seemed like an grueling task. And still in the haze of the drugs, he’d probably end up being next to useless in the face of any danger. Not that he was itching for any more excitement tonight. Perhaps he’d wait. Tucking himself out of sight among the underbrush but still keeping a wide view of the lot, Hau settled in, fighting against the enticing pull of his exhaustion.

Stenson and the officers watched with mounting horror as the mud continued to recede towards where the suspect had been. It's motion became almost forceful, as if the muck had suddenly turned on the one that had commanded it. However, Stenson had a very bad feeling...
"Move, now!" He shouted, breaking the others out of their daze. Together, with Stenson leading, they turned and ran back towards the way they had come. Behind him, Stenson could only imagine what might be about to happen, but in his gut he knew that he dared not look.

zavijah:
She held on, more modivated to staying awake and not touching the ground then anything else. . . She prepared for the fight to come, before Stenson ordered the others to run. . . . The group began to flee the area, making their way back towards the cars, she presumed. . . . . Perhaps something worse was to come? Or perhaps the ground itself was becoming a pit fall trap. . . While the group was distracted by the sight. . . Hard for her at the moment since blood was slowly pooling inside of the break as her arm swelled. . Causing the area to grow more heated. . . She rather not grow too dilerious and loose hold. . .
She glanced back and watched as this continued to play out. . . . Perhaps the opponent was preparing an ungodly powerful attack? Or was merely unconsious? She knows not. . . For he uses an ability she holds no familiarity with. . . .
As they descended the incline, she noticed an aura further down in their general direction. . . It was rather familar. . . She has seen this one today before, wait, isn't that? "Hau?" She uttered, looking at the aura. . Oh no. . . He had blue hair. Was he chased here? If it was Hau, they need to convince him to come with them. . . He was in danger with his hair color alone. . .
