[Kail joins the group as they venture into storage, eager to shoot or bludgeon whatever is within the room] [Rolls] [HP] 25
Kail nodded in agreement, ears pricked and pupils wide in the low light of the room. He scanned the rows of boxes and shelving, watchful for movement or the glint of eyes.
"It's definitely still in here." He murmured, falling into position alongside Ashe. Not being able to see as well as he usually could made him uneasy, and he held the weapon ready as he trailed after Simon. It was impossible to know what to expect, but he felt a thrill of adrenaline at the thought of attack and shifted his grip on the gun.

[OOC: Hau goes for a little flight and introduces himself to Medi-kit when prompted. Then he asks the ferret if it can show them where the promenade is.] [HP: 25] [Items: Coat]
Only a few steps away from Tetra and the ground slipped away from beneath him. Or, actually, he drifted away from it. Everything lost its grip on the floor and floated into the air, including him and Jed. For a brief moment the kitsune was frozen in fear. Ever-present gravity had just… disappeared. He was convinced, finally, that this might actually be a space station but his thoughts refused to go further than that. The questions of how they had gotten here and why were much too daunting.
Hau waved his arms, trying to swim towards one of the walls, but ended up going nowhere. He coasted along, pushing away various pieces of furniture, until gravity suddenly switched back on and everything dropped with a crash. The Medi-kit bounded to each of them in turn, assessing their bruises - nothing worse thankfully - and asking names. “Hau.” He introduced himself, climbing to his feet and moving towards the corridor again. “Kira?”
He wouldn’t be able to see her though as it was at that moment the lights suddenly cut out and plunged them into inky darkness. The power had failed. He could hear the intense silence where the buzzing of electronics had just been, feel the shudder of something... shutting down? Then the emergency lights blinked back on but the AI hologram didn’t. At least Tetra had given them some useful information before she left, the promenade was south of them.
Though… which direction was south? Hau gave a soft growl of frustration. He turned to the Medi-kit, willing to try one more time for directions. “Can you show us where the promenade is?”

[OOC - Kira goes airborne and cannot figure out what is going on. She bumps into the cylinder and then falls back to the ground. She inspects the strange cylinder at least until someone calls her name and the lights go out momentarily.] [Roll:] N/A [Items:] Scissors
As Kira curiously approached the green glow, she thought she heard the voices of the others calling to her. Jedidiah in particular called her name, and something about moving the other way but before she could turn fully to acknowledge him, gravity ceased to exist. Kira's semi-crouched posture lost its usual resistance of gravity, and her legs seemed to push the rest of her upwards as if in a weak jump. She gasped, still clutching the scissors as her feet left the ground and she found herself suspended awkwardly in the air. Instinctively, her wings spread outwards as if in flight and teetered this way, then that in an attempt to right herself. She even flapped a few times, also out of instinct. She could hear the others back in the other area perhaps experiencing the same phenomenon along with the objects and debris. Kira called out to them, panic building.
"What is being happen!?" She cried, still flailing and trying to right herself. It didn't take her long to lose track of what was up, down, left, right or any other possible direction. It felt like falling, but none of the 'falling' feeling. Just pure weightlessness. She felt something hard bump against her back and as she spun around in another involuntary cycle of movement, she caught sight of a strange cylinder. It certain stood out to her in the moment, and almost didn't seem to fit with the rest of the environment.
But for the time being it was only a passing discovery as gravity found itself in their room and Kira did finally fall to the ground. She landed awkwardly on her hip, half turned with legs and wings pointed upward. A sharp pain shocked upward from the point of impact. "AHHH-OOF-"
The sound of the others hitting the floor as well, and everything crashing down was sudden and ended quite abruptly. Kira laid their on the ground, wincing from the fall but as she slowly moved to sit up she noted that the pain was already beginning to fade. The weasel thing was chattering away about their status, mentioning bruises although Kira didn't need him to remind her... She rubbed her back and hip, and stood carefully to look at the cyclinder with scissors still clutched securely in one clawed hand. Was this what caused that?? She eyed it worriedly, moving slightly here and there to inspect it from a safe distance. "Kira?" Kira's head turned to see who was calling and was met with sudden darkness that lasted only a short moment before coming back on.

(OOC: Samael adds his opinion as he sits at the console connected to engineering, studies the console and attempts to contact Cassius.) Rolls: N/A Hp: 25
Just as things were beginning to fall into place, the power fizzled out, Tetra disappearing, becoming unresponsive and the lights turning off. For a moment, they were all left in total darkness and silence. Oppressive and heavy, had Samael needed to breathe, he could imagine this would be a situation where that would feel more difficult than usual. Then lights flicked back on, and the alarm returned, as if nothing had happened. Except Tetra was missing now. The dullahan hadn’t fully trusted the AI, but up until now, it had been very helpful to them, and with her now gone, they might end up having to do more guesswork. It wasn’t an idea Samael appreciated very much.
The blonde was the first to speak, confirming Samael’s suspicions, and offering some insight on the situation. Restoring power would have to be the first priority, and as much as he hated it, Samael didn’t seem to be in any position to do anything about it. Guiding the people scattered around the station seemed like the best option. Hopefully they could guide them out of danger instead of into it. Next August spoke, mentioning that engineering seemed like the place to start. The dullahan glanced up at the engineering team, recognizing Cassius as part of it. That settled that, it would seem. Upon noticing August’s encouraging smile, The dullahan responded with a thumbs-up, which was the closest he could get to returning the smile.
“Agreed, restoring power should be the first priority. I’ll take engineering”, Samael offered, nodding at the screens, “I know some of the people there. A familiar voice might make cooperation more effortless.”
With that said, The dullahan sat down at the console for engineering, taking a moment to study what he had before him. It had taken him months to get fully comfortable with WDSA computers all that time ago and this was… much, much worse. But he couldn’t dwell on that now, he had to focus, if he wanted to get people out of here unharmed. Finally locating a button that he assumed would allow him to talk with the group in engineering, the dullahan pushed it. “Cassius, can you hear me?”, the dullahan tested, remaining neutral and calm, as he didn’t know if this would even reach his superior not, “It’s Samael. I’m in a room with cameras. I can see you on the monitors. Are you alright?” Then he leant back, careful not to touch other buttons while he waited for a reply.
“How’s the maps coming along?”, Samael asked turning to look at the blonde, hoping that his two companions had more technical know-how than himself.

[Security]
There are no further power cuts as you converse and decide your next course of action, nor does Tetra return.
The download steadily progresses, reaching 90% just as a flashing red light appears on one of the consoles, next to the Engineering sector intercom. Cassius' voice emerges from the console.
Medi-Kit hovers beside August's shoulder, stating,
"AI Tetra will be more stable once power and systems are returned to normal functioning."
[Admin]
"I apologize, personnel Hau, I am not programmed to give such directions, especially when you are lacking an Odesa-5 personal transponder." Medi-Kit's hologram ears droop in apology as it answers you. "Only the route to Medical is within my remit."
Once out in the corridor, it's easy enough to figure out where Kira has gone, since her silhouette is visible.
Kira's cursory investigation of the cylinder reveals it to be a sleek, stark object easily large enough to fit Jedidiah, never mind a regular sized human. Manufactured from a material that appears like glass, but is far more reflective and shiny, it seems to almost glow beneath the red lighting. A seam is visible on the front, implying a door or hatch is present.
[GM Notes: Anyone who wishes to investigate the cylinder further, please make a Logic + EITHER Investigate or Mechanics, if you have them.]
[Engineering]
Though Tetra vanishes, the image of Medi-Kit simply wavers, then re-establishes itself.
This time, when Cassius asks it a question, the holographic animal droops as it comes to float before you, it's ears falling as though in apology.
"I apologize unknown personnel 1404, I am not programmed to give such directions, especially when you are lacking an Odesa-5 personal transponder." A second later it perks back up. "However! Please do take this moment to provide a name for your personal medical records, thank you."
Samael's voice responds over the intercom system. It appears you have successful communication.
Should you venture back into the previous section (where you first woke up), you will be greeted by the same red-bathed, clutter-filled room as before. Any number of objects - lengths of wire, screwdrivers, a battered pipe - could make for a tool or handy item of some kind. However, you will note that at the opposite end of the room rears a large, shadowed mass of… everything and anything. An enormous pile of tangled metal, stacked objects and collapsed shelving blocks the way to the other door, the green lights of which you can still make out.
Not only that, revealed now you are at the correct angle and it is no longer completely obscured by scattered objects, a forklift can be seen jutting out from beneath a couple of fallen shelves. A potentially useful tool, perhaps?
[GM Note: Any who approach the clutter at the other end of the room intending to find a way through, roll a Climb + Strength OR Agility, depending on whether your character wants to squeeze through or brute force objects out the way. Anyone who wishes to investigate the forklift, make a Logic + Mechanics roll.]
[Market]
Something does indeed jump out in front of Simon, though perhaps not what you expect.
Lithe, small and stylized in a similar manner to an animated cartoon character, the little hologram abruptly flickers to life as you step over the Storage threshold. The silver-furred animal bears a stark resemblance to a young ferret and a green cross is present on the translucent animal's forehead.
"Good day unidentified personnel 1401, 1402 and 1403!" It chitters while dancing between each of you in turn. "Low levels of contamination have been detected in the area, please be advised that continuation into this sector may result in harm to yourselves. Survival likelihood 80%. Recommendation: Inform your closest security personnel so that appropriate action may be undertaken by trained individuals. Also, please take this opportunity to provide names for your medical records."
The room itself, meanwhile, is terribly dark. There are no sign of light switches and not even the emergency lighting seems to function correctly, certainly not enough to provide light to traverse by. Shadows loom large into the distance, soon obscuring the many stacks and items that lurk within the area.
Something in the distance clangs, like settling pipes in an old house.
Simon's eyes, however, sweep across something reflective on one of the racks, just close enough to the door and what weak, spilling light it provides for it to be noticeable. Inspection reveals the item to be a flashlight.
Should you proceed deeper within the Storage room, a prickling discomfort skitters up your back. Instinctive and basal, originating in the animal hindbrain, it's the distinct feeling of being watched. Could it be a rat, scuttling over the pipes above?

[OOC] Casmir decides to navigate for Takui's group, attempting to contact them via the communication network, and checking with August to make sure he understands the situation, and see if he has any questions. [Rolls] N/A [HP] 25
"Almost finished. I'll send it to you once it's done, if necessary," Casmir replied, taking note of the way the Dullahan addressed Cassius- a familiar tone, if brusque and to-the-point. He had a feeling the throw rug probably appreciated the headless horseman's no-nonsense air, but the question remained as to whether or not Samael could properly see and guide his selected group, given his obvious handicap. The Hunter had heard that the stygian fae had a preternatural sense of vision, but he couldn't help but be concerned over something happening in a dire moment.
His more rational side, however, argued that he simply couldn't man all three stations at once, and if Sam had said he could do it, then Casmir would simply have to take him at his word. Which left the option of which of the other two teams he'd need to guide; Takui was with the beagle and the murder deer, and the Kitsune was with a group he didn't recognize. While the blonde had a brief history with the Cobra, he didn't know the other two very well. He certainly wasn't fond of Kail, despite the cloven-hooved cannibal's friendship with Sjira. That fact alone was what kept the Hunter from considering how to get Simon and Takui out safely, while leaving the Wendigo behind to deal with those perpetual fires Tetra had mentioned- if Kail died here, Sjira would be inconsolable, and Casmir didn't want the Stormling to have to lose anyone else he cared about.
Those factors ultimately made the decision for him. "I'll take the trio in the Marketplace," Casmir grunted, searching the keyboard. He could attempt to ping them via the intercom, but without a functional map to relay information, he'd have no way of telling where the device was in relation to Takui, so he could simply wind up transmitting into the ether and wasting precious time.
'PA system for now, then,' Casmir decided, flicking the switch for the relay. "Cobra, this is Mongoose," he said into the com network, using his and Takui's Hunter handles. While to others, perhaps, it might feel strange communicating without any visible receptors, for him it was hardly any different from talking to Delphi. "I've got eyes on you from Security control. Don't know what exactly your situation is, so I'll need a sitrep once you get the chance. Give me a thumbs up if you can hear me."
While Casmir waited for the black-haired Hunter to reply, he turned to August, fixing him with an intense look. "That means you have to take responsibility for the group in Admin. They're going to rely on you to open doors and help guide them to where they need to go. Can you handle that?"

[Ooc] Simon is startled by Med-kit, introduces himself, asks Med-kit about security and what exactly they mean by contamination. He checks with the group to see if they want to keep going. He is surprised to hear Casmir's voice, and responds verbally into the air. [Roll] [Hp] 25 [Inventory] Gun Flashlight
Simon fumbled with the gun for a moment, not expecting the little thing to jump out and not go for his eyes. It didn't seem dangerous, it was talking strangely, though. His sci-fi feelings were confirmed, as this was either a ghost or a hologram, and he was leaning towards the latter. He offered a hesitant smile at the thing. He'd play along.
"Uh. Hey there, Med-kit. I'm Simon Groves. Now- what are you talking about contamination? Where would I find someone from security?"
He kept his voice calm and friendly, even though the thing was telling him they had an 80% chance of survival if they kept going.
Simon stooped to grab the flashlight, keeping his eyes up for trouble, and called back at Kail and Ashe.
"How, um, do you guys feel about 80%? I can try and scope it out myself... found a flashlight."
Upon hearing Casmir's voice, Simon froze. The Hunter? From when Aaron... before he got- the thought got sluggish, and he let it slip away, something making him highly uncomfortable. He could have sworn there was an ache in his shoulder. What was the Hunter doing on speakers?
"...Hunter?"
He spoke out into the air, unsure if the man would hear him. He was talking some nonsense about a Cobra and a Mongoose, asking about the situation, saying he could see them from security- hadn't Med-Kit mentioned security? Simon couldn't recall if the man had introduced himself, it had been a very busy day, that day, when... it had been busy, but regardless he didn't know. It felt uncomfortable, a few more steps into the room, feeling watched. Was that the Hunter watching? Was that the feeling?

[Kail responds to medikit and asks what kind of contamination they are dealing with. Keeps his attention on the room] [Rolls] [HP]
Kail tensed as the little creature blipped into existence, finger twitching on the trigger. It was like a little cartoon, though, and he lowered the gun as it leaped joyfully around the room.
"I'm Kail." He answered it after a moment of hesitation, following the werewolfs lead.
"Nah, let's stay together. 80% ain't too bad, but let's make this quick." Kail responded to Simon. It irritated him that a flashlight was even necessary. Why were his supernatural abilities so suppressed? Walking quietly was a struggle, and his brief jog earlier had confirmed that his speed was no better than a humans.
"What kinda contamination exactly?" He addressed the weasel creature, keeping his eyes on the dark expanse of the room. There was a creeping feeling of unease. Of the attention of a predator. "Anything that'll help?"
The cannibals ears flattened at the sudden voice over the intercom, scowl returning. He recognized it - and Simons exclamation only confirmed the man's identity. Of all the people to be here with, they'd managed to land a Hunter. His pale gaze flicked disdainfully to Ashe to gauge her reaction. He must be addressing her, if that massive tattoo was anything to go by. Maybe they were friends - they were equally gruff.
Still, he stayed warily alert, focus switching back to the room a second later as he struggled to push down a looming sense of aggression towards the Hunter. Whatever else was lurking between the boxes could use this as an opportunity to strike.

[OOC:] Takui almost shoots at Medi-Kit. She refrains and scolds the hologram for sneaking up on them. Gives her false name when prompted, and resumes vigil at Simon's flank. Becomes frustrated by being unable to see, asks Medi-Kit why. When Casmir speaks to them over the PA system, she is not entirely thrilled. Asks Medi-kit how to communicate with Security. Rolls: N/A HP: 25
Takui spun on reflex when something did jump out of the gloom at Simon. In the same fluid motion she brought the rifle up, aimed, and was about to squeeze the trigger when it became clear that the thing wasn't a threat. It spoke at them with a merry tone of voice, and seemed to be made of the same sort of translucent light energy that Tetra had been.
She eased off the trigger and, slowly, lowered the weapon.
"Don't sneak up on folk like that! Ain't yer makers never teach ya any manners?" she hissed over her shoulder as she resumed her vigilant stance, her back to Simon's while he addressed the shimmering weasel. She didn't like the sound of "contamination", whatever that meant. She also wasn't a fan of the paranoia creeping up her spine. That feeling of being watched...
If she could just see! The deep shadows in the large storage room were unusually oppressive. Seeing in the dark should be no problem for her, and yet her eyes never seemed to adjust beyond a certain point.
After a beat, when there was a gap between Simon's and Kail's questions, she grudgingly replied to the thing's prompting. Medical records, huh? "Ashe Lockwood," she lied, as loath to tell the truth to a machine as to strangers. "Hey weasel. What's up with the dark, here? Why can't I see?"
Before she could weigh in on her companions' discussion on braving contamination to explore, a voice crackled over the market's PA system. A voice she instantly recognized, and which put an immediate scowl on her scarred face.
"Mongoose? How..? Well, ain't that just grand!" She shook her head, throwing her arms up in exaspiration. Shit just kept getting weirder, and she was not in the mood. Was this all some crazy dream? Between nudity, space, and now this... "None o' this makes a lick o' sense! Losin' my got-damned mind, I swear..." She backed out of the store room into the corridor, just long enough to locate a security camera. As soon as she spied the device, she flashed a sharp-toothed grin - more of a sneer, really. Or a snarl - and flipped up her middle finger to the lens. After the pause she returned to her companions in Storage and cast a glance at the hovering, holographic ferret. "Fucker can't hear us, I'm bettin'. How do we get in touch with Security?"

((OOC:) August sasses Casmir back. Directs Admin through the PA. ((HP:))25 ((Roll: N/A))
“Thanks, Med-kit. That’s a relief. Ya blood’s worth bottlin’.”
He grinned at the hologram.
August wasn’t a fan of bullies, especially in a weird dream. He had been hoping be able to assist Simon and ‘Cobra’ as Mongoose had called her, but it seemed he had called dibs. He was happy to help out any of the groups though, a life was a life after all. It was pretty cold-hearted to value one over the other. Besides Hau and Jed were his friends and the bat creature seemed pretty darn cute.
He returned the intense gaze. Then August’s eyes turned completely black just for a moment, his eyeteeth a little longer and sharper. This guy was all edges, it was a miracle he hadn’t cut himself on it.
“Well bless your heart, of course I can. I ain’t stupid ya know. If I can direct a whole film crew, pretty sure I can handle three people. You could sure brush up on ya people skills ya self. Who licked the red off ya candy when you were a kid?”
With that he leaned into his console and pressed the button for the PA.
“Hey y’all it’s August in security. Ya can’t answer unless ya find an intercom but we can see ya and we’re gonna help ya navigate. Just gotta wait for the maps ta finish loadin’. Hang tight in there. Probably don’t touch that cylinder…”
August had seen enough sci-fi movies to know that the giant cylinder meant nothing good. Although If it weren’t for showing Mongoose how capable he was, he would have made the crrrk noises. Some people were allergic to fun.

[OOC: Jedidiah moves to go grab kira so they do not forget her, sees the thing she's looking out before attempts to see if he can help figure out what it even is. Does not touch cylinder after hearing August.] [Rolls: 13+4+2, total 19 for Logic+mechanics] [HP: 25] [Items: paperclips, pens, tape] Jedidiah:
He did not want to go through that again. Considering the moment of absolute darkness, and the fact the three of them are fairly segragated, he moved over to go scoop Kira up like a child. " Ok, lets try and find a way out of here. " he suggested, glancing between Hau and Kira. Before glancing over and noticing the him-sized Cylinder that Kira was near.
This was when August came up on the intercoms? . . he glanced around before seeing the subtle glint of a lens . . . nodding. Thank God, a map! "do we have a means to respond to August? Can he hear us? " he asked Hau, glancing towards him. " In the case you can hear us, August, thank you! " he stated.
When Hau suggested not touching the glowing Cylinder, either, he pondered apon the thought. "Well, its not a good idea to mess around, but, might be a good idea to try and figure out what it is at least so we can either avoid it, or utilize it, assuming that does not prove detrimental to everyone here." he replied, turning around to examine it, perhaps it might be a good idea to study the thing while the maps still load? "Wait, will they be able to figure out the integral state of the station? what areas can be traversed without a space suit vs which ones are depressurized or no longer safe for those without a suit? " he asked.
He gently patted Kira on the head when she asked if they can leave. "We want to leave too, I do not like it here either. we need to be careful, but we are trying to figure out how to get out of here. " he assured. Damn that alien movie. . . That was a horrible idea, he thought it was just a cool movie about space and aliens. . . Well, it was, but it was terrifying!
he frowned, studying the cylinder. hopefully its just a really big lamp thats startling them for no reason. . . or useful to them. . .
[edit, added logic to roll, along with actual post]

(OOC: Cassius speaks to Sam. He also tells Moonstone to investigate the forklift, and asks Sarkany to find a way through to the Medical bay. He walks into Engineering and tells Medi-Kit his name.) [Rolls:] None [HP:] 25 "Anyone there? This is Sir Lucidus." Cassius spoke into the transmitter. The voice seemed both commanding and unsure. He probably had no idea if the intercom was working or if there was anyone on the other side. And then he heard Samael's response. A voice he knew. One of his whelps. His heart rose in his chest with a familiar warmth. "Samael, my boy." His fondness was more obvious than it had ever been while he was awake, evident in his voice. However, his focus returned, and he quickly moved back to business. They had a job to do. They had to restore the power. "You can see us on screens? What is going on? Who else is here? I have the instructions to turn the reactor back on, but I do not know where it is. Do you know?" Samael’s voice on the other side sounded relieved somehow; “Good to hear you, Cassius. There appears to be cameras scattered throughout this station. We are not alone here. There appears to be two more groups scattered around the place, in similar condition to us. I do not recognize everyone, but Simon is here as well. Are you safe, for the moment?” The dullahan paused. “Certain cameras appear to be turned off, so my visibility is limited, but we have some control over certain doors. I cannot see anything that appears to be a reactor.” “We are safe. I just do not know where I need to go.” Cassius paused, frowning. “I know how to restart the reactor but I do not know where it is. I feel that we are losing time. What else can you see? Enemies? A leak?” “Agreed. Maps of the station are being downloaded as we speak, I will relay the information as soon as possible.” “Be alert. A red light has begun flashing by the console connected to engineering.” Samael stated, scanning over the screens yet again, “Are there any immediate problems or dangers in your area? Is breathing becoming an issue? There are a number of fires and hull breathes around the station. As of now, I cannot see any enemies.” Cassius frowned. He still did not know what any of the alarms meant. “Not yet. Things seem the same here besides the loss of power. I am going to move into Engineering. I’ll talk to you at that intercom if you find the map. Our exit is currently blocked.” “Understood. I will let you know if anything of note changes here.” The old werewolf looked over his shoulder, and towards Moonstone and Sarkany moving back through the doors He assessed the situation present. They should not stay stationary while he was talking over the intercom. “Sarkany, can you find a way through the other room? Moonstone, can you investigate the lift and see if we can get it to move?” After he finished speaking with Samael, he moved onwards into engineering with the others, moving towards the intercom in the other room.
Finally, he had a moment to address Medi-kit. The vague thought that he had rudely ignored the…being? Crept into his mind. Was it a being? He chose not to think about it. Instead, he simply answered the question;
“I am Cassius Lucidus. How do we find whatever makes you function better?”

[OOC: Hau looks for a camera to wave at August, and agrees that they probably shouldn’t mess with the cylinder since they have no idea what it is.] [HP: 25] [Items: Coat]
Hau sighed, ready to throw his hands in the air and give up. He was about to ask the Medi-kit about the way to Medical when a voice echoed down the corridor. It took him a moment to place it. “August?” And he had maps? Finally they could get somewhere! He scanned the hallway, trying to find the cameras watching them to wave a reply. An intercom too. But his eyes landed on the cylinder next to Kira. So that’s what August had been talking about. “He’s probably right, we should leave it alone. Glowing can’t be a good sign.” He was dismayed by this himself, fighting back his own curiosity about what was inside it. Considering they were on a space station of all things, the possibilities were fantastically wide open. But Hau had been watching Alien with Jed last night too and he knew it was a terrible idea to mess with unknown objects found out in space.
