[OOC: Sarkany agrees with Cassius and tries to navigate through the debris to the door.] [Roll: 14 Agility]
"Feet or face. One of them will find the door," Sarkany said, turning toward the debris.
In truth, he was loathe to take off the blindfold for an extended search. The faint new alarm only added to the ambient sense of misery. The seraph peeked from underneath his blindfold for brief stretches, gauging the route ahead and following up with short spurts of activity before retreating back into welcome blindness.
He moved as if navigating a natural jungle, wary of sharp or snaring obstacles, careful of unstable terrain underfoot. Such movements were familiar and easy, and he fell into a rhythm even through the blindness. But he was careful. He took his time, tuning out the alarms. Many of these objects were unfamiliar to him, and a hasty hunter found injury more often than reward.

[OOC:] Moonstone tries to make the forklift move, as per Cassius' instruction. He doesn't really understand it at all and is likely unsuccessful. [Rolls:] Logic: 1d20 (6) + 1 = 7 [HP:] 25
Moonstone startled when Cassius said his 'name' - or at least, the thing he liked to be called. Had he told the man at some point? He wasn't sure, everything had been such a mess of anxiety and confusion since he had woken up. After a moment he turned toward where Cassius had gestured and moved that way, although he wasn't entirely sure he knew what a 'lift' was. He knew what the word meant, to raise something, but...
After a bit of searching he decided to look at the machines again. The tube was a teleporter, whatever that was, and the two monitors didn't look like they could lift anything. Then he saw the machine with two horns sticking out of the front of it, shelves toppled across it. Perhaps that was the lift? He supposed that could be what the horns were for. If it moved like an animal, it would lift with them and then throw, or perhaps it would gore with them. The horns didn't look very sharp though. He crept nearer it and ran his hands over its surfaces, trying to find anything that might be useful on it. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to make it move, though... It looked pretty stuck, and a few attempts at pushing it made him decide it was too heavy for that to work...

(OOC: Sam gives august a pat on the shoulder (maybe for the sass, who knows) before having a little bit of catching up with Cassius, while continuing to observe relevant screens for information. Briefly glances at where the maps are being downloaded to check their status.) Rolls: N/A Hp: 25
While not turning to follow the situation, Samael couldn’t help but overhear August and “Mongoose’s” banter, and found himself quite pleased with the young vampire’s quick and confident response. Without thinking, the dullahan reached out, giving August a quick Pat on the shoulder that could be approval of the comeback or an act of reassurance.
Then the intercoms came to life. “Samael, my boy.” The familiar voice rung out loud and clear across the intercoms, to the dullahan’s relief. If they could communicate, they had more tools to work with. However, considering their situation, he thought it best to cut the pleasantries. Cassius would understand. The sooner they got out of here, the better.
“Good to hear you, Cassius.”, Samael responded, wasting no time with catching his superior up on the situation, explaining what he could see and what issues there were, like the lack of a reactor on any of the cameras. Without thinking, he also checked if Cassius and his group were safe for the moment, just in case there were threats he was unaware of. Luckily that was not the case. The two had a little bit of a back and forth, discussing the flashing light by the engineering console and their course of action, all the while Samael observed the screens before him with near-unbroken focus.
Once the red light started flashing by the console, Samael once again checked in, wanting to make sure that Cassius and the others could still breathe fine and that no threats had appeared. To this, the man replied: “Not yet. Things seem the same here besides the loss of power. I am going to move into Engineering. I’ll talk to you at that intercom if you find the map. Our exit is currently blocked.”
Samael nodded to himself, easily seeing the logic in the other’s decision. Idly chatting when neither had anything they could do would get them nowhere. “Understood.”, the dullahan responded, “I will let you know if anything of note changes here.”
With that, the intercom went silent, and Samael took a moment to glance over at where the maps were being downloaded, to see if that was done, before returning his attention to the screens.

[OOC - Kira does not inspect the cylinder further, is instead scooped up by Jedidiah. She hears the voice from the intercom and becomes ever more worried. She looks to Jedidiah and asks if they can go home now.] [Rolls:] N/A [Items:] Scissors
The cylinder's height was ominous and intimidating, as Kira looked back up at it uncertainly. It was incredibly reflective, casting the red light that was around them in an eerily effective way. She could even see her reflection, staring back at herself painted in red. She also noticed the split in the center, a seam breaking the front of its clean surface just enough to notice. Like two doors just barely cracked open. Kira leaned in a bit, intending to try and peer into the seam when suddenly a large hand scooped across her and lifted her easily from where she stood. A small hiccup of surprise escaped her and she looked up at Jedidiah. There was no fight or struggle from her, but rather a curling-in of her body, a tense bundle of limbs pulled in on herself within the cradle of Jed's arms.
"I is sorry is not be meaning to touch. Is not to touch on the shiny door..." She said apologetically, explaining away her intentions. "Is be only look, no touch!" She watched his face for any sign of anger or negativity but as always Jedidiah remained friendly. Kira relaxed just a bit against his arm and resorted instead to fold a wing over and across one bare shoulder.
When the disembodied voice spoke suddenly from the speakers above, Kira's head snapped up and around. So many strange things had occurred in the past hour or so, she was very nearly getting used to these sudden, odd happenings. This did not make her feel any less nervous however. Her ears twitched and swiveled, listening to the voice's words. At it's warning about the cylinder, Kira looked back at it again and her curiosity of it dissolved into fearful apprehension. She wasn't sure what this place was, but with everything going on, she was beginning to just want out of it all. Her gaze slid up towards Jedidiah's face and her voice dropped to almost a whisper. "Is be leave now....can be go away back home now?" She felt bad for asking, it wasn't often Kira requested things.

[Security]
The download finishes. 100%. Each glass screen at each console flashes the update, then displays the image before you as the file opens. Now the disjointed sections of rooms you can see on the cameras start making sense.
With it is a warning. The red text flashes impatiently on the screen under the map.
STATION IN LOW-POWER MODE. SOLAR ARRAY DAMAGED. EXTERIOR CAMERAS OFFLINE. PLEASE SEND TECHNICIANS TO REPAIR AND INITIATE REACTOR STARTUP.
Then there’s a noise, nearly lost beneath the chatter, but so out of place that you can’t help but hear it. It's a skittering, a crawling, the sound of claws moving slowly over stone. As you look around, one dog-sized paw with wicked claws and oddly humanoid fingers reaches down from the ceiling, groping along the outside of the glass. Feeling for purchase.
[GM Note: Anyone attempting to hide make a Cunning or Composure roll + Stealth if they have the skill.]
[Admin]
Though you do not touch the cylinder, your visual appraisal traces across the seam in the front. Logic dictates that this is a hinge, a door of some kind, thus implying something should be placed in, or taken out, of this device. Above and below the cylinder sit square plates comprised of multiple small hexagons angled in towards the main cylinder and clearly involved in its operation. Logic also dictates that there should be some kind of instructions concerning the device, especially given your Admin location, where staff are less likely to be versed in the workings of electrical, mechanical, or other such devices. There is a small, raised display alongside the cylindrical object, with a tiny button on the bottom left corner of the screen border - a power button, from the look of it. And then, on wall behind it, you realise the words 'TELEPORTER STATION' are present.
[Engineering]
Sarkany's careful, methodical route is generally successful, with only a couple of light scrapes and tiny bumps to interrupt you - Medi-Kit soon appears before you, informing you that the injuries are minor and, all in all, nothing to be concerned about. There isn't even potential for infection!
Near the end of the debris field, you realize that you need to not only crouch, but crawl your way through a narrow gap, between fallen shelves and large sheets of metal, in order to progress. Blessedly, nothing collapses atop you. Fortune favours the small and slim, in this instance.
On the other side, you are greeted by another double-door, the smaller taking up a section of the larger. Written in bold letters beside it are the words;
'LOADING BAY.'
Moonstone is unable to find a way to free or activate the forklift; it remains steadfastly still and silent where you found it.
[GM Note: Anyone else attempting to navigate the debris and reach the door after Sarkany must also make an Agility or Strength + Climb.]
[Market]
"I am afraid I am not programmed to give such directions when you are without an Odesa-5 personal transponder, I may only provide directions to Medical," Medi-Kit answers ruefully, it's holographic ears and tail drooping. After a second, it perks back up. "But I am aware that medical staff converse through intercom or personal communication devices, perhaps the same applies?"
It is clear the little creature is trying it's best to be helpful, within it's limited capacity.
"As for contamination, at present we only know that it is biological in nature. Further investigation has been impossible through normal means, due to station-wide lack of power. The darkness is also caused by this lack of power; though if you are referring to your lack of low-light perception, as would be typical for your species, all supernatural abilities are suppressed during your time on the station for the safety of passengers and crew. This practice came into effect after the events of Incident 178-S-4."
As Medi-Kit finishes speaking something moves uncomfortably close to your right, almost at your elbow, a dark shadow skittering over a crate in your peripheral.

[OOC] Casmir expresses his delight at August's sudden display of backbone, taking note of the downloaded map. Once he hears the strange sound he attempts to avoid being seen while trying to see what the immediate threat is, silently warning his colleagues to be careful. [rolls] 4 + 3 Composure + 2 Stealth = 9 [HP] 25
Casmir's expression shifted in response to the change that briefly crossed August's face, teeth bared in an almost eager grin. "Zajebiscie," he said, turning back to his computer. Mentally, however, the scarred man couldn't help but frown at the fact that his Eye hadn't informed him that August was a vampire. Perhaps there was some sort of inherent magic interfering with it, but it didn't matter- if he couldn't rely on it, he'd just have to make do.
Meanwhile, the map had just finished downloading, and he could now see the layout of Takui's surrounding area. Further, he saw Takui had heard him, and had taken the time to poke her head out from the hallway leading to Medical and flipped him the bird. 'Charming as barbs on a wire, that one,' Casmir thought with a wry smirk.
"So, then," Casmir replied to August, his hand moving back to the PA in order to direct Takui to where he saw the Intercom icon. "Let's see you keep that up, Mr. Wood. Maybe we'll-" the Hunter abruptly cut off, however, when his ears took note of a faint scratching. It was too precise to be debris settling, or the hull shifting. Suddenly alert, he quickly shifted out of the chair and knelt low to the ground in an effort to reduce his visibility, while trying to motion to the other two to do likewise. His mismatched eyes scanned the ceiling as he shifted closer to the underside of the console, examining the glass up above for whatever had caused the disturbance.

(OOC: Cassius uses the intercom in Engineering to communicate with Security. He then moves onwards to the Loading Bay after hearing no reply.) [Rolls:] Strength Roll to move through rubble towards Medical = 6+4 = 10 total [HP:] 25 "I’m in Engineering now. Any updates?” He paused, listening to the lack of response. Perhaps they became busy. Nevermind, the boy could see him on his end, and could use whatever communication device was most appropriate.
After a pause that seemed to be forever, he heard;
"Cassius”, Samael spoke over the intercom again, wanting to relay information quickly and precisely,
“I have maps. The reactor room is connected to an area known as ‘the loading bay’, however, there appears to be no functional cameras in ei-"
The transmission cut off, and then there was nothing. Only silence.
"Hello?"
Nothing. It was time to move on.
“We’re moving on towards the Loading Bay.” He said finally, and moved onwards, ushering Moonstone. He could probably hotwire most vehicles, but he had the feeling that it wouldn’t be the best use of their time right now. There was urgency. Something was failing. Probably some flooding. Cassius turned towards where Sarkany had disappeared to. A success, it seemed. Hopefully he would be equally as successful. He assessed the junk, and made the decision to move through the path of least resistance, lifting anything heavy out of the way to make his journey easier. “Sarkany, you there?”

[OOC:] Moonstone attempts to navigate the rubble, following the other two. [Rolls:] Agility: 1d20 (8) + 3 = 11 [HP:] 25
Moonstone's head jerked up when Cassius called to him, his ears pricking up, eyes wide. He hesitated a moment, then moved to follow the other two. The lift, whatever it was, perhaps could have been used to move this rubble with its horns, but he couldn't figure it out. He felt a bit of disappointment with himself, but he shrugged it off as best he could. Why should he care if the big human was pleased with him?
He hurried to catch up with the other two, moving through the debris. His claws helped him in climbing trees, but the rubble was something else. Still, he tried to climb over it, and then wriggle through it when that seemed necessary. At least he was small enough to squeeze in.

((OOC:) August is surprised by Casmir. Excited by the idea of a teleporter. Daunted by the idea if solar array damage. Terrified by the creature outside. August tries to hide under the console desk. ((HP:))25 ((Roll: 8+3= 11))
August had braced himself for Mongoose’s reaction, he wasn’t sure what he had expected but it wasn’t this. What an odd man… It seemed to have even warmed him to August.
He was pleased to discover the cylinder was in fact a teleporter. That was so cool. His excitement was immediately taken by the words ‘SOLAR ARRAY DAMAGED’, that couldn’t mean anything good for a vampire. He grinned when Mongoose called him Mr. Wood, the man knew his directors.
His thoughts were interrupted by the skittering noise and the paw hitting against the glass like a cat after a tin of sardines. Except they were the sardines. He quickly ducked under the console, trying to will shadows over himself out of habit. No familiar rose sent followed and no familiar wet feeling. In fact no shadows at all. Shoot. Hopefully that glass was as strong as it looked. He was grateful that his heart wasn’t beating or it would have alerted the creature for sure! He willed the creature away, watching silently.

[Kail asks medi-kit where the nearest intercom is. Is startled my movement and wants to shoot at the creature but is dissuaded by Takui, and begins a retreat towards the door] HP: 25 Rolls:
"Ya got any idea where an intercom would be?" Kail asked medi-kit brusquely, almost cutting the hologram off. Being in the dark room with something skulking around had him on edge, and the sooner they were out the better. Even if the last thing he wanted was to converse with the Hunter, the man might be useful for getting them out of the area and away from the fires.
The sudden movement had him stepping back with a curse, hackles up.
"Christ!" Kail swung the muzzle of the gun in the direction of the skittering, every muscle tense as he strained to see into the dark. His finger itched to shoot - to flush it out, or hope a stray bullet would clip it. To see if the guns worked at all. "I'm gonna shoot. See if these work 'n try to flush that thing out. Any objections?"
Takui shouldered her way past the lanky super with a sneer, taking point, rifle raised. "Don't be stupid. I ain't takin' no fights that I don't gotta," she hissed. "Ought ta retreat, check Medical first."
"Like it ain't gonna follow us out." Kail snapped back, voice a low growl. "if we don't strike first, it will."
"Look, I love me a good brawl much as the next guy, but ya don't even know what it is or what it can do, an' I don't see no armor on none of us!" Takui asserted, but she kept her eyes forward. "Back out the door, I'll cover ya both an' shoot if it comes closer."
There was a heartbeat of hesitation from Kail as he glared at the woman. Killing it now would solve the problem - but they were supposed to be a team.
"Fine. Ya better fuckin' hit it if it does." He relented with a curl of his lip, keeping his own weapon raised as he backed towards the door. He glanced to Simon to see if he was following suit, ears angled towards the place he'd last heard movement.

Otherwise, will haul the Storage door closed once everyone is back in the hallway. Rolls: N/A HP: 25

Jedediah:
His expression went from one of focus and concern to that of a grin. It was a teleporter! Is it like Stargate or startrek? This was both amazing, and also saddeneding since now comes the question if it's functional, where would it teleport someone, and if they need clearance similarly to needing clearance for a map or directions. . .
Little alone. He needs tools.
"Good news is it'd a teleporter." He stated. " Might not be safe for us to Leanger around long enough for me to tinker with it to see if it works, where it might send us or what clearances we will need to use it. " he added, before glancing towards Hau. "So we at least are good in not worrying about it being a trap" he assured with a small smile.

(OOC: Samael informs Cassius that there are no working cameras in the reactor room, but that it is connected to an area referred to as “Loading bay”. Upon seeing the creature, he attempts to hide.) Rolls: 12+3 (15) Hp: 25
Entirely focused on the map as it appeared, Samael did not catch the slightly more relaxed banter between his companions, and only absently made a note of the damaged solar array. This place was bigger than he had hoped it to be, and if this was only a partial map, he didn’t want to consider how big the place would actually be in its entirety. The pessimist in him told him that they would find out either way though.
“Cassius”, Samael spoke over the intercom again, wanting to relay information quickly and precisely, “I have maps. The reactor room is connected to an area known as ‘the loading bay’, however, there appears to be no functional cameras in ei-“ There was the scratch, quiet and subtle but enough for the headless creature to pick up. He went quiet immediately, searching for the sound. Finally, above, the dullahan saw the weird limb feeling its way down across the glass, on the outside luckily. But if they could see it, it could probably also see them.
Moving quietly, Samael ducked down under the console, head de-materializing so it wouldn’t accidentally bump against anything and cause unwanted sound. Seeing that both August and the blonde had moved to take cover as well, he allowed himself a little relief, however brief it might be. Once he knew where the two others were, he returned his gaze, if you could call it that, now that he was without head, to the ceiling, tracking the creature’s moments. Instinctively, he sought to bring forth the spine-whip that was so known to him, but nothing happened. At this point, the dullahan wasn’t exactly surprised, but it didn’t exactly help put him at ease either.

[OOC: Hau gets restless as he waits for August to come back and presses the power button on the teleporter.] [HP: 25] [Items: Coat]
Hau waited, wondering how long it would take maps to load, idly inspecting the cylinder. A teleporter, eh? He saw the sign now that Jed pointed it out. Well that eased his worries, but it also raised some serious questions. Where did it go? Just one place or multiple? Could people teleport to them? Would they have to worry about flies sneaking inside if they wanted to use it?
He cringed, canting a look at Jed. “...We should probably take a break from the late night sci-fi movies.” At least the horror ones. They gave him nightmares sometimes anyway. “But I’m glad we know what it is now. And since we have to wait for August anyway,” his eyes flashed towards what he thought might be a camera, “I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to take a closer look. Let’s just, you know, not teleport anyone until we can actually find some instructions.”
Given the power issues the space station was having, it was doubtful the teleporter would have enough juice to work anyway. But still undeniably curious, and seeing no harm in a simple power button, Hau tried to turn it on.
