(OOC: Cassius asks Tetra some questions, most importantly being, how turn on the power, how to talk to Security, and what the alarm means.)
[Rolls:] None [HP:] 25
Cassius was momentarily distracted by the ferret-like medical hologram appearing in front of Sarkany, and its sudden appearance brought a rush of adrenaline, his fight instincts kicking in…the hyper-focus… No, this was no threat. It was something else entirely, like the ‘Tetra’ computer. Medical.
Medical was useful, but he had questions to ask. He hoped Sarkany was thinking along the same lines. Being strategic, finding a way to get the power back on so that they could move to other areas in this place. Perhaps find some weapons. Maybe there was prey to hunt. Enemy soldiers.
The thought was exciting. He was already in the zone, his body humming with murderous energy.
He looked back at Tetra, his dark eyes sparkling with his focus, and perhaps, a little bit of bloodlust. The sooner they resolved this issue, the sooner they could get to where the action might be. He puzzled over his questions, then decided;
"Computer, how do we get to the other attractions?"
Tetra smiles in an indulgent way when Cassius calls her 'computer' again.
"All districts can be accessed from the promenade. This door leads to the promenade."
She pointed toward the bulkhead door on the northern end of the room, across from where they'd come in.
"At this time the station is in lockdown and the door requires manual security overrides to open. It is also possible to reach the market district through the station's outer ring, but electrical hazards and contaminants are present in these locations. Passage is not advised."
"How do I override the door manually?"
Cassius admittedly did not know a great deal about how to interface with technology, but he did know how to ask questions. Either way, he was starting to get a headache thinking about working with technology.
"For security reasons, only security personnel have the clearance to override the main bulkhead doors," Tetra explained.
"Can we communicate with security personnel? And what’s that other alarm now? There are a lot of alarms. I think the ship has a hole in it."
He rubbed the back of his head, his fighting spirit fading as he considered the situation. It probably wasn’t a ship, but he was not really sure what was going on. Maybe they were sinking, wherever they were, and he would not need to worry about fighting his enemies after all.
“I’ll also need that manual for restarting the reactor, if you can.”

[OOC:] Moonstone is distracted by the medi-ferret. And is curious about what a hanging garden is. He'll follow the others. [Rolls:] N/A [HP:] 25
Moonstone's eyes widened at the sudden appearance of the small floating ferret-creature by the light-haired man. The way it moved made his clawed hands twitch, his attention focus in on it - a hunting instinct. He wanted to grab it, but he managed to resist the temptation. After a few moments he even managed to look away from it - telling himself that he had no need to hunt just now. He wasn't hungry, and he didn't have the colony to hunt for.
His attention twitched back to focus on Cassius and the blue human, although he had trouble following their conversation. Neither of his companions had answered his own question, but he supposed that meant it wasn't anything important just now. Certainly, some of the things the blue human was saying sounded more interesting, in particular: "What is a hanging garden? Is it like... vines?"

[OOC:] Takui presses the power button on the rifle and practices aiming down the sights a few times. When Tetra answers, Takui is rather alarmed by the concept of being in space. She asks Tetra a few more questions:
"Are we actually in space?" (rhetorical)
"What happened here?"
"Where are we *exactly* on the station?"
"How do we get off the station?"
"Is there anyone else on the station?"
After getting her answers, she continues down the corridor to regroup with Kail and Simon to find out if they've discovered anything useful on their end. If asked, Takui will assist in attempting to open the Storage Room door (unless that is too many actions for a round, but I need to attempt sleep so there will be a roll shown below just in case.)

[Ooc] Simon is concerned about what is inside, is joined by Kail, receives a gun,and they take turns trying to open the door. [Roll] Strength 1+1+(help from kail)1=3 [Hp] 25
Simon contemplated for a moment. He wanted that movement to be a survivor, but he was hesitant. As he thought about it, he heard hooves, not dissimilar to Nagi's. He turned, seeing Kail.
He offered the guy a half smile before gesturing at the door with a more serious face.
"Oh-," Simon kept his voice low," Kail, right? Hey, uh. So, I think something is in there... It could be another survivor, or... something else? This whole thing don't feel right." He paused, noticing what Kail had. "That a gun?"
"Yeah," Kail replied, stooping to look intently through the gap in the door. "I have the feelin' it ain't another survivor. Probably whatever trashed this place." He nodded, keeping the weapon pointed slightly towards the door. "I think so. Dunno if it works though, but could work as a bludgeon, right?" He grinned. "If ya can shoot ya should go grab one."
Simon envisioned smacking someone with the gun, and cracked another grin.
"Heh. Yeah. ... I think it's worth opening, there's other stuff in there, but I think I'd like to be armed too. Could you show me where you found that?"
To his surprise, Kail just offered him the gun. "Just take this one, I'll grab another. Unless ya want a different kinda gun?"
"Oh, thanks," Simon accepted the gun, held it for a moment, but set it down carefully when he realized itd be hard to open the door while holding it,"I'm good with this. Alright then. I'm gonna open it, ready?"
"Gimme a second." Kail jogged back to weapon store, selected a similar rifle and returned to the door, ready to help Simon force it open.
Simon gave it a shot, gripping one side of the door and pulling hard, but he didn't feel it budge. He glanced back at Kail.

[Kail looks through the door (perception roll) grabs a rifle and attempts to heave the door open with Simon] [Roll] strength: 1 + 2 = 3 [Roll] perception: 18 + 3 = 21 HP: 25
With a new rifle in hand Kail jogged back down the corridor, passing Ashe as she conversed with the blue computer lady - and better her than himself. The technology of Wathais had been hard enough to master, so space-station AI seemed like something best left to the others for now.
The wendigo inspected the rifle with that thought in mind, fiddling with the safety as he came to a stop by Simon. Right. Escaping a room soon to be engulfed by flames was more important than playing with the sleek gun.
He nodded at the shorter man and heaved as he did, lean limbs taunt and eyes fixated warily on the opening.

(OOC: Sam asks tetra to download the partial maps, and also asks if she can tell them what the data corruption is caused by, if it is in any way related to the damage they can see on the cameras. Replies to Casmir’s comments on how empty the station is.) Rolls: N/A Hp: 25
Samael made a quiet sound of agreement, a sort of rusty, grating hum, that sounded much farther from human than his normal voice. Incomplete maps were better than nothing, and if they headed out into the station, which seemed unavoidable at this time, they could update the maps as they went, hopefully. “Yes, please download the maps”, Samael said, then as another thought struck him, he added, “Tetra, can you tell me what the data corruption was caused by? Was it caused by the destruction we can see or something else?”
While waiting for answers, the dullahan took a moment to confirm his suspicions. Being a creature of death, he was unfortunately and uniquely attuned to it, as if he could sniff it out like a blood hound, for the lack of a less morbid metaphor. It was sense as natural to him as breathing, but here, it seemed to be blocked in some way. Not exactly reassuring. However, this only sharpened his focus. If one of his senses had been cut away, he had to be more attentive of the others, and besides, with people he knew here, he had a duty to attend to. A familiar feeling of cold calm began to make itself known.
Besides him he heard the blonde speak again, mentioning the uncanniness of the station and the state it was in. The blonde was right, there should be people, and obviously, damage like what they saw should not be allowed to go unchecked. Natural explanations did not seem to cut it here.
“No matter what happened, we ought to be carefuland not rush into decisions”, Samael thought out loud, crossing his arms, “Best case scenario, we’re all alone and the only hazards are in the environment. Worst case scenario, whatever caused this is still here, and I doubt we want to know who or what is behind this.”
Without thinking, Samael looked behind him, barely moving his head, to check in on August, who appeared to be chatting with a… ghost ferret? This place got stranger and stranger by the second.

[Security]
Tetra smiles at Casmir.
“At this time Odesa-5 is not open to the public. The fires in the Market district are caused by thoxolin leakage, which ignites on contact with oxygen and burns perpetually. Odesa-5’s fire and response systems are not operational on limited power. To put out fires power must be restored.”
“Minor doors can be overridden from the security room. However, systems are currently damaged. Data corruption from an unknown source has compromised the network, so opening some doors may also lock others. Bulkhead doors and security doors can only be overridden manually by security personnel with logged biometrics. To unlock the bulkhead doors you must physically visit the location.”
“Passenger hangers can be accessed from the promenade. However, no functional ships are currently docked. Security personnel may reach the security shuttles using the main elevators. As a reminder, elevators cannot be operated while the station is on emergency power. Speaking with the Engineering team via the PA system or the Engineering intercom may expedite repairs.”
When questioned, Medi-Kit answers cheerfully,
"I run constant health scans on all personnel or registered visitors, alerting immediately of any damage, nutritional requirements, dangerous hormone fluctuations, or other such points of note that require attention. I can offer advice on first aid, direct you towards relevant medical stations and personnel if you require treatment, or inform next of kin should death occur. I also have protocols for mental and sexual health awareness, can book personnel in for workplace assessments should they require additional assistance to complete their duties and will alert you to environmental hazards or unfavorable decisions, in a limited capacity. Were you to be in possession of an Odesa-5 personal transponder, my functions regarding your wellbeing would be improved considerably."
At the mention of investigating the room and finding clothes, it tips first it's head, then follows by turning it's entire body. "I am not programmed to fully assist with this query, but the Market district holds many clothing stores and all personnel should be provided a work uniform. Tetra may be able to assist further."
To Samael, Tetra smiled.
“I am downloading the station map for you. Please stand by while-”
The image of Tetra goes fuzzy mid-word. Her voice cuts out, and then with a glitching spasm of pixels, she winks out of existence. The emergency lights flicker off, as do the monitors, plunging the entire room into eerie darkness for a heartstopping moment as the station shudders.. But after a second the emergency lights come back on, the alarms continue, and Tetra is nowhere to be found.
There is still a steadily filling download bar on Casmir’s screen, however.
[Admin]
“After incident PL3-1, the Tetra Informational Service can no longer give out virtual data to public travelers. We apologize for the inconvenience and recommend visiting our promenade for a physical copy of the station’s map. You can get to the promenade by exiting out the southern bulkhead door. From the promenade, you can reach any part of Odesa-5.”
As you talk with Tetra and generally move about the offices, something… changes.
Your bodies feel lighter, but equally movement becomes more difficult to control, as though the forces involved when you push against the ground to take a step are no longer behaving as they should. Instead, you push away from the ground and don't come back down, floating away on a trajectory you struggle to have any control over, with momentum that shows no sign of slowing. Furniture and other objects are suddenly obstacles that you may collide with and it's only through a frantic twisting of your own body that you don't slam your spine or limbs into anything.
Luckily for Kira, you have already left the office and wandered out into the corridor, where there are far less hazards to collide with. Though you flail wildly in the air and fail to control yourself, there is nothing in your path to hit and you keep your grip on the scissors so that they do not stab you. Your floating does cause you to bump into a large, shiny cylinder, tucked away in a nook between two offices, but not hard enough for notable injury.
As suddenly as it occurred, the gravitational oddity ceases and you are sent crashing back to the floor, landing heavily on your derrières. Medi-Kit, now zipping between the three of you, chimes in.
"Kira, unidentified personnel 1399 and 1400. Scans indicate very minor bruising. No treatment required, any discomfort should ease within the hour. Gravitational disruption has been logged with the engineering department in an attempt to prevent further injury." The little hologram animal fixates more strongly upon Jedidiah and Hau. "Please take this opportunity to provide a name for your medical records."
Now that Kira has wandered closer to the green lights, you realise they highlight the top of a reinforced door. A sign and arrow point through it stating;
AIRLOCK FOR DOCK 1 AHEAD.
Just then the emergency lights flicker off, plunging the entire corridor into eerie darkness for a heartstopping moment as the station shudders. After a second the emergency lights come back on, but Tetra is nowhere to be found.
[Engineering]
Upon being asked questions, Medi-Kit responds cheerfully, "DSE stands for display screen equipment. This assessment would determine if further action should be taken by Odesa-5 to accommodate you when utilising the screens of your work environment so as to prevent bodily or optical damage. Workplace adjustments vary by person and individual need, but can range from Odesa-5 requisitioned personal protective equipment to reduced hours based on mental health requirements."
The translucent creature then elongates it's body, tail morphing into an arrow that points back the way your group would have come.
"To reach Medical, go through Engineering, into the Data Centre and past the Lab sector. Though please do note that contamination has been detected in the Lab and extra care should be taken. A thorough diagnosis of survival likelihood is not possible from this distance."
Tetra adds her own answers once Medi-Kit is finished.
“Hanging gardens. A garden sustained at an artificial elevation by any means, as by the terraces at Babylon”
Tetra smiles at Sarkany.
“This is the Fabrication room. The fabricator is used to break down materials and recreate them as new objects. You can do this from the fabricator’s console screen once power is properly restored.”
Tetra glances then at Cassius. Suddenly you feel like you understand how to start the reactor, even though you might not have any formal training to do so. The startup sequences fill your mind.
“You can communicate with security personnel through the intercom next to the bulkhead door-.”
The image of Tetra goes fuzzy mid-word. Her voice cuts out, and then with a glitching spasm of pixels, she winks out of existence. The emergency lights flicker off too, plunging the entire room into eerie darkness for a heartstopping moment as the station shudders. Even the alarms go silent. But after a second the emergency lights come back on, the alarms continue, and Tetra is nowhere to be found.
[Market]
The rifle in your hands feels lighter than you're used to. The sights work, but they're a little off, like the manufacturer didn't take the time and care to ensure they were properly balanced. When you press the power button the button begins to glow a soft blue, and the gun hums very gently.
Tetra smiles at Takui’s questions.
“You are indeed standing inside a space station. We are not orbiting any planetary bodies to view, however, as Odesa-5 is fixed in deep space. Your current location is the shopping center of the market district. You can leave the station from any of our available passenger hangers. Visit the promenade to charter a flight. The current population is considered extremely low, with only a handful of other--”
The image of Tetra goes fuzzy mid-word. Her voice cuts out, and then with a glitching spasm of pixels, she winks out of existence. The emergency lights flicker off too, plunging the entire corridor into eerie darkness for a heartstopping moment as the station shudders. After a second the emergency lights come back on, but Tetra is nowhere to be found.
Down on the other end of the corridor you heave together against the door. It doesn't move at first, stuck stubbornly in its track. When Ashe joins in, it's just the added muscle you need. The door shutters, jerks, then screeches open with a sound of metal on metal that echoes back down the hall. The silence that follows is more complete, more uncomfortable, as if the shadows themselves are listening.
The room beyond stands open, and from the new vantage point you can tell that it is large. Old shelving lines the outer walls and stands in uniform rows throughout the center. Boxes and barrels are piled in corners, while others have spilled off palettes to lay stacked in aisles, blocking intersections to create a cramped labyrinth that runs deeper into the warehouse.
The cylinder you spied before looks like some kind of tube. It is large enough to stand in and from this distance you can see the discreet line of an upper seam, indicating some kind of door. But the top half is all you can see past the crates, and the object seems to be deeper in the labyrinthine room.
Nothing moves. Nothing stirs. Even though Kail was sure he’d heard it too.

[OOC:] Moonstone does not want to stay in this room anymore and would like one of the other two to lead the way to somewhere else please. [Rolls:] N/A [HP:] 25
Moonstone cocked his head to the side, listening to Tetra's description of a hanging garden. He understood terrace, but was uncertain what Babylon meant. It was a place? From the sound of it, it simply meant gardens that were up high. "Then... would a garden at the top, very high on a mountain-" he began to ask another question while she was answering Cassius, when she abruptly buzzed like she was made of a swarm of bees and then disappeared. The room went dark and Moonstone reflexively ducked low, his ears pinning flat against his head as the sound stopped as well.
When the lights and sounds returned, Moonstone's ears remained flat, although he drew himself up a little. "Should not stay here. We go to... the hanging garden? Or... or Medical place? Or to do the... emergency power... reactor? thing?" He looked back and forth between the two humans remaining in the room as he voiced his opinion, looking for affirmation from one of them at least. He didn't really want to go alone and he wasn't really sure where he should be going, but this room with it's harsh sound and flashing lights didn't feel especially safe.

[OOC] Casmir takes note of the information Tetra and Medi-kit give his group, then proceeds to outline a plan of action after the lights come back on. [Rolls] N/A [HP] 25
Casmir took note of Samael's question, mentally nodding in approval- the Dullahan had a keen eye for detail, picking up on the fact that the incomplete maps were caused by corrupted data, and looking to find out what the reason for that was. A good catch Casmir himself had missed. As for their other companion... The Hunter briefly turned his attention to where August was hunkered down, talking with the holo-ferret. Apparently, he was asking the program's opinion on if there was anything in the security room worth checking out, or if there were any spare uniforms, the answer to which was "no," it seemed...
'At least he's not ogling the Cobra...' he grunted mentally. He paid close attention what both Tetra and the Medi-kit were speaking of, taking note of what he could: They could override most of the security doors from here, though they'd have to access the bulkheads directly in order to open them. Using a ship from the hangar to egress wasn't an option, it sounded like. Did that mean most of the civilians had already used them to evacuate, or was there a more disturbing possibility? Meanwhile, that personal transponder sounded like it might be useful, and if there were weapons in the marketplace, then finding a way to get there would be the next step.
"Tetra, can we-" Casmir's inquiry was disrupted by a sudden power outage, Tetra's azure form winking out of existence and the room plunging into darkness. The Hunter was immediately on his feet, alert for threats, his keen ears straining in the darkness for any errant sounds that weren't either him or his companions. The unsettling groan of the hull of the space station was all he heard, however, and then the emergency lights flashed back on.
"Damn," the Hunter growled, looking around at Samael and August; they didn't seem to be physically worse for wear, thankfully. Tetra, however, was nowhere to be found. "Seems we're out a guide book..."
Thinking for a moment, Casmir looked from the security terminal to the monitors. "Looks like we're on our own, at the moment... It sounds like we're going to need to get the power turned back on if we're going to get out of here, but we can't get to the power room so long as we're stuck here. Which means we'll have to communicate with the people on the ground."
Casmir looked back down at the console, noting the progress bar updating as he resumed his seat. It seemed as though Tetra's download hadn't been interrupted with the momentary loss of power. Maybe they could still get her back up? It was something worth trying while they dealt with other matters. "If we're going to escape, we're going to have to play navigator... I can't man all three of these terminals, so you and Tlingel are going to have to take the other two," he stated, looking over at the other man, then at Samael. "Anything you'd like to add?"

((OOC:) August wants to pet Medi-kit. He wants to ask Tetra a question but is distressed that she has fizzled. He takes a seat at one of the terminals and offers his opinion ((HP:))25 ((Roll: N/A))
August smiled down at the holo-ferret very tempted to try to pet it. If it weren’t for his two cool guy companions he would definitely try. He nodded at the Medi-kit and turned to ask Tetra about the uniforms, he’d been half listening to her as he’d chatted to the ferret.
Then she sputtered out in a haze of glitched pixels and the lights went with her, he cried out.
“Tet.. Tetra… Do ya think she’s okay? Lawdamimbo! Is there a button to press? Medi-kit?”
Panic rose in his throat for a moment as the station shook. He braced himself for the very worst…
Then the lights were back on and everything seemed okay but no hologram lady… Poor Tetra. At Mr. Muscles’ words he nodded and took a seat at one of the unoccupied terminals.
“Ermm sounds like Engineerin’ should be our first focus, fellow Tlingel? Get the place runnin’ again. Save Miss Tetra. Right, Sammy?”
He gave the headless guy an encouraging smile.

[Ooc] Simon looked into the room, told the others he thought they should be careful going in, made a few connections to movies, and went in the room. [Roll] Perception 15+3=18 [Hp]25
Simon stared into the open room, picking up the gun he'd set down. There was no obvious sign of life, it was dead quiet. Whatever was in there without a doubt knew they were coming, how could they not after that screech? He turned to Kail and Ashe, a slightly anxious grin on his face. The power going out had not been a welcome event.
"Thanks for helping, there," Simon turned the strange gun over in his hands, lowering his voice," there is definitely something else about. There's so much stuff in there, it has to be worth looking around, but I think we oughta be real careful."
Simon was getting horror film and sci-fi vibes from the whole experience, which meant several things, stick together, don't trust robots, expect something to jump out at them. It was a little silly, but his movie collection at home was far too big to allow him not to make parallels. Still- how did they get to this futuristic mall? Too many questions.
"I'll go first," he had been the one to suggest going in, it would be uncool to try and make one of the others go in first, "get ready in case something, uh. Yknow. Jumps out."
Simon stared for a moment longer into the room before slowly stepping in, gripping the gun Kail had given him. He looked around, then took another step, eyes peeled for anything trying to kill him or anything useful.

(OOC: Cassius tells the others that he knows how to fix the reactor, and would ask Medi-Kit where the reactor is. He starts heading towards the way they came, and looks around the bulkhead door for a communication panel to call Security.)
[Rolls:] None [HP:] 25
Something happened. The lights turned out for a moment, and then the ship shuddered. The computer-woman, Tetra, disappeared. It was sinking. That was the best he could come up with, if it was even in water at all, but there was something that was no good happening.
His scarred face became taunt as the lights flickered and went out, and he inadvertently shifted into a combat-ready pose as he prepared for what came. Then...nothing. The lights returned.
And now he had a task. He could restore the reactor and thus restore power. They would need this to succeed. That he felt in his heart. With this motivation, he turned to the others. It was urgent now. No time to hunt or look for prey.
“Let’s find the reactor. I know how to restart it now, but I don’t know where it is.”
He looked over at their only remaining aide, Medi-Kit.
“Medi-Kit, can you tell us?”
He gestured back towards Moonstone and Sarkany, moving towards Engineering. He paused briefly to examine the bulkhead area for the communication panel, so that he could contact Security, eyeing the device briefly to try to figure out what he had to do to activate it.
When he felt he had pressed the right buttons, he tried speaking into it.
“Hello? Security? This is Sir Lucidus.”

[OOC:] "Ashe" enters the Storage room, keeping a position on Simon's flank.
Rolls: N/A HP: 25
The strangeness of their situation still seemed ridiculous. It defied all reason. She might have laughed at the absurdity, if not for the power winking out for a startling few seconds. The shuddering of the floors and walls put her hackles up. From that point on, Takui was back on high alert.
Mr. Dogshorts volunteered to take point, and once again the huntress found herself quietly impressed. She wondered if he was ex-military or something similar.
"Safety in numbers. I got yer flank," the dhampir stated as she followed Simon through the door into the cluttered warehouse. She flicked the safety on the rifle and braced it against her shoulder, though she kept the point aimed downward. If it was functional - if it was even loaded - she didn't want to accidentally blast a hole in one of her only allies in this place.
It was with surprising ease that she sank back into the familiar role. Her eyes roved the space around them, checking all the angles Simon couldn't. She stayed a step aside and a step behind Simon, keeping him in her periphery as they moved deeper into the vast chamber.
