Jedidiah:
he nodded in understanding, alright, he is ok. . kepatmasto, if he is understanding Ash correctly. slowly, they well be able to speak fluently to eachother in the other's language, but for nao, its a progress. . .thank God Ash is rather bright, otherwise this would take forever. . . its hard to know multiple languages. . .but digressing from the tangent. he noticed rather quickly the sudden distress of 'keera' as she suddenly began to freak out as she looked at him with this undeniable absolute terror. . . he grimaced. . .perhaps someone that was his height hurt the poor thing. . .or she was simply terrified of people his height. .
he then noticed and heard the voice of another? he glanced over to see a girl. . who seemed rather. . . lost. . . . hes never seen her around here, though he hasen't been here for too long either. . . when she spoke, he grimaced. . he did not understand a word she was saying. . .at all. . .he pondered hao to respond before the sound of something quietly stepping apon wood before it snapped loudly, causing a distinct weight to hit the ground, and Ash to spring up and shift. . .before standing between the three of them and whatever made that noise. . .at first, he grabbed the two girls with his long reach and held them close, just in case whatever threat was going to attack them, they would hit him first before the girls, in case it managed to get around Ash. . .holding the two in a protective manner. . .
but then as he looked at the thicket where the noise came from. . .the figure behind or within the thicket became more and more clear to him. ". . .oh! its a dog. . . a rather big dog. " he stated. he pondered for a moment, before attempting to repeat this in Ash's tongue. " [it dog] . .aaah. . .woof woof [. . . big. . dog] " he continued. he felt bad for the bat, though. . . if she was really terrified of him, this was not helping her in the least. . . nao he possibly has two more languages to learn. . .yaaay -this is going to be abit confusing. . . hopefully he doesn't start mixing the three tongues up. . . "are you a good dog? " he asked, not sure if it was a pet, a feral, or a shifter. . . he didn know, he cant tell in the least unless he sees it. ". . . do you understand english?"

Everything seemed to be happening at once. There was a flash of something moving low to the ground, an odd scent that Kira barely registered as she continued to fearfully address the enormous figure of the man before her barely registering her new friend's hand stroking her back and shoulders as if to comfort her, when suddenly Ash was incredibly different again. His skin became the same, charred winged form as he turned to face whatever had just appeared, his voice deeper once more and wings flared as he faced the opposite direction. Kira huddled where she was, gazing wide eyed back before nervously reaching once more for the man's feet in submissive posturing when suddenly she was pulled up by a massive hand. A terrified shriek escaped her as she was lifted from the ground, curling into a ball both to protect herself and in complete surrender to the one that held her. Struggling always made things worse in the end, it was much easier just to give up and hope for some lenience to whatever they had planned. Kira trembled, looking up at the man and back down at Ash. Just then, she noticed someone else in the man's other hand, and Kira glanced over from between folded wings wrapped about her head to glimpse another humanoid also held up off the ground. She hadn't even noticed this other's presence or approach, and their skin (although a different color), seemed to have the same patchy scaled texture. Another like Ash perhaps?
Had she perhaps stumbled upon an entire group of those like herself, who perhaps were governed by the larger master figure? They still seemed very different from Burbats in appearance, and Kira wondered if perhaps this world was still as alien as it had been when she first arrived. Still, Burbats or not, she dreaded what might come next now that their superior was here and what was in store for them once they were brought back to the factories. If this world used factories. More fearful thoughts formed in Kira's mind at that moment. If not factories, then what? What were these beings used for, and was Kira now to be used for the same? If she didn't know what to do, her punishments would surely be tremendous and numerous, and she may even end up looking like the other two. Every inch of her fur burned to scales, or worse.... Kira keened and whined in the man's arms, trembling worse than before the longer the seconds dragged on as the man spoke to whatever had been seen near the group.

With everything happened to quickly, like a cat the merfolk made a hiss as she was picked up not in anger but rather in a panicked state of confusion by the rather tall "human" as Sara would have explained. Though the other person, scaley like herself yet seemingly different made her a little surprised at the protective attitude he had before she even got picked up. Kind of nice. His language, at least from what she caught as nothing like her own, it seemed similar to Skalaian but she would have understood it.
She watched as a rather large beast stood near where she was previously, she was being followed and that's a rather frightening thought. Lunia isn't exactly tasty looking, her scaling revealed the potential dangers of being not something you'd want to dig into but nonetheless being prey is not on her bucket list and won't be for the next couple of hundreds of years. Eventually the merfolk seemed to quiet down, clicking out of habit to sort of lessen some tension for herself but also since it seemed to amuse the occasional persons.
"Urveh ik?" She asked again pointing a little bit around. Trying to get some form of communication going.

Tobi; The Lost One
"I want to feel more than just sorry for myself."
The snapped branch revealed that there were more than just Tobi and the girl present. Instinctively, her ears tightly pinned against her skull. Worry growing ever apparent in her eyes. She peered over the bushes ever so slightly. The others were fumbling among themselves fear, anger, and confusion lingered in their group. And they all tried to speak in different tongues. It was strange. Watching this unfold, her massive head giving a small tilt, the burn of anxiousness growing deep in her gut. Are they all mad? ((they all looked like idiots lol))
The short, scaly girl from before still peaked the shifters interest, but anxiety kept her in place. A small groan came from her throat at one of the stranger's words. "Not..not a dog." She managed to stifle out, voice still hushed. With the newcomers seeming so..unstable it was obvious why Tobi was hesitant to run out and meet these new people.

'Big' was an understatement. What he could make out around the bushes looked huge. He kept his posture, despite Doktar Jeddy trying to reassure him, not trusting the creature. And then it spoke in answer to Doktar Jeddy, proving that it was sentient. His posture relaxed slightly, his wings shivering as they folded down against his back again. He eyed the not-dog dubiously for a long moment, then spoke in his accented english: "Not for eat!" He wanted to make that clear, that they were not prey.
When it seemed clear that the creature wouldn't attack, Ash somewhat reluctantly turned away from it and moved to Doktar Jeddy. His new friend, Keera, seemed terrified, and his crest flattened, his ears twitching back when he saw her. He held his arms out to Doktar Jeddy. "Give Keera?" She had seemed mostly at ease with him, hopefully he could calm her some.
The other humanoid, the one with the pinkish scaling intrigued him. She wasn't like him, but like the man he had met in Doktar Jeddy's clinic she seemed... similar? He offered her a smile and a slight nod, a little nervous as well as curious... but Keera needed his attention right now. If Doktar Jeddy passed her to him, he would cradle the bat-like creature to his chest and gently stroke her fur, making calming noises.

Jedidiah:
he flinched abit when it spoke, but was nao more intrigued at the being. "ahh, I apologize for the assumption. . . rather difficult when the thicket is obscuring the view. . . do you have a name? my name is Jedidiah Gurulf, I am a doctor. this is Ash, and Keera, if I understand if that is her name. . " he replied. he glanced over at Keera, speaking of which, before noticing she was shivering worse then a puppy in a blizzard. . . poor thing was probably having a near panic attack. . he set the pink one down as she started to point around asking something, before carefully handing Keera to Ash as he asked for her in hand. . before glancing at the pink one. . .he pondered abit. . " do you understand english, little one? if you are asking where you are, you are in the Wathais mountain range. . .near my home and clinic. can you tell us your name? " he asked.

Kira heard Ash speak her name but kept her head folded beneath her wings as the giant held her. She was afraid he was calling her out, perhaps explaining to the large man what she'd done and her fearful worry only intensified. She really was in deep trouble, she just knew it...
Just then, without warning, she felt herself being lowered. She cried out quietly into the folds of her wings, terrified of what was about to happen when suddenly she was being placed in someone else's arms. She peeked out slightly, only to find that she was now being cradled in Ash's arms. She stared at Ash who ran a hand across her head making strange, calming sounds, confused and surprised. The sound, oddly, helped to take the edge off her nerves, but she still turned to fix the larger man with an oggling gaze while leaning into Ash's arm. Although she was still massively confused about what to expect, she tried to feel some kind of reassurance that perhaps she still had some time before things got...bad.
There was a rustling sound nearby, and Kira couldn't help but drag her gaze away to crane her neck around towards the sound. It was...some kind of creature, larger than herself but also with a fur not unlike her own. Her first reaction was to leap from Ash's arms and greet what immediately appeared to be someone like her, but she stopped and simply chirruped a quick, nervous greeting, as if to say "HEY". From behind the bush, and from her place in Ash's arms, she could really only see its head, which was definitely much larger than her own. If it was a Burbat, it was even bigger than what she'd originally thought Ash was.

As the merfolk was lowered she hugged her arms a bit, fins expanding out as her large orb-like eyes seemed to almost bulge out of their sockets as she stared at whatever had been following her. To her whatever the man referred to as a "dog" appeared more like those beasts told in stories of old but on a smaller scale and definitely not as scary but then again she could never be certain.
The girl seemed to inch just a bit closer to Ash while still staring at the "dog". Her hissing turned into a low breathy sound, like a giant catfish out of water. Eventually she went quiet and sort of kept to herself, watching as the giant seemed to be rather friendly with the creature. Though the much smaller, flyer was kind of cute and just as squeaky as herself.

Tobi; The Lost One
"I want to feel more than just sorry for myself."
The group seemed to relax despite the bumpy introduction. Tobi forced herself to emerge from behind the thorny bushes, delicately one paw placed in front the other, revealing her entirety to them. The starlight made her pearly fur shimmer, almost appearing to glow. Predatory eyes gleamed like burning steel but she could not hide the bleak look within. She was clearly troubled by something besides this group. One could tell the shifter carried a great weight on her shoulders, looking not the least bit threatening but weary. A white muzzle turned to them and body followed suit.
"My name is--unimportant." She spoke in hushed tones, jaws unmatched to the words, still leery of these strangers. They didn't need her name, not yet. The middle of the woods was not the best place to meet new friends. For all one could know these people might be cannibals or cultists or something equally as crazy!
The only one who held the predator's focus was the scaled one. She was painted in vibrant hues, a clear sign of danger that flared Tobi's animal mentality, but the shifter needed answers. This might be her one shot at getting them. It was a long shot. Tobi leaned her head down to get on eye level with the girl, took a moment to remember Tenor's lessons, and then mimicked the sounds as best she could.
"Tiv ik Urvuh."
The seconds waiting for an answer felt like hours. Before getting an answer, however, a great beast of the air swooped down to snatch the canine up. It was huge to be able to lift such a large target, to say the least. Not hidden with cover, Tobi's white fur made for an easy pick. She was gone. Empty handed once more.
Tobi exits from the thread.
((Dw, she gets away from bird thing but is unable to find the group again after.))

Ash continued to carefully pet Keera's head and back, making soft soothing noises. He glanced toward the large creature now and then, making sure it wasn't doing anything threatening, but otherwise letting it be. It spoke, so it was sentient, and for all that it was large and imposing looking... it didn't seem to have any intent to harm them. It almost seemed as skittish as a grazer, but the shape of its head, the set of its eyes, the conformation of its build... tthose gave it the look of a predator. He and Doktar Jeddy were clearly too large to be easy prey, but Keera and the pink-scaled humanoid were smaller and might be mistaken as such.
He glanced toward the pink one as it moved closer, his crest of scales lifting slightly and taking a curious set, then laying back again, more relaxed. He folded his wings down against his back, coiling his tail in a loose circle around his feet - making room for her, if she meant to come closer. She was looking at Kira more than him, but he offered her a smile, setting his scales in a friendly posture.
Since Jeddy had introduced them, he decided to repeat the introductions, just to reinforce them. He shifted his hold on Kira, loosing one hand to gesture to himself. "Ash." Then he patted Kira between the ears, smiling a touch more. They were so large! Like Kamr ears! Oh! Perhaps she was something similar? She had no crest, no feathers, no horns... But the similarity in appearance abruptly dawned on him. A touch belatedly, he patted her again and introduced her: "Keera." Then, he nodded, pointing with his chin toward the giant. "Doktar Jeddy." He glanced toward the large white creature, unsure if it had given its name. "Nottadog? Nn. Si mi ti jaunus..." His attention focused on the pink one again and cocked his head to the side, curious. "Wux?"
He would have spent a bit more time on introductions, but the large white creature was approaching them - he was aware of it in his peripheral vision. He shifted his stance slightly, mantling his wings a little to partially block Keera in the off chance that it attacked. But it was looking at the pink one, seeming fixated, and it was speaking - a different language, not what Doktar Jeddy spoke.
It stood still a long few moments, waiting. Perhaps it had asked a question? He wasn't sure. He had barely begun to relax when something abruptly dropped from the sky, broad wings cutting through the treecover, dropping on the large white-creature. He hissed, moving as quickly as he could and pushing the pink one back and pressing Keera to her. He hoped she would take the small maybe-Kamr, or that Keera would latch onto her, but he didn't have time to be sure. He released her, and turned back in time to see the broad-winged creature - feathered, but so large it was difficult to make sense of, to take in - pushing off, the white-creature clutched in its talons. It broke through the trees more quickly than something so large had any right to.
"Itrewic spical! Doktar Jeddy! Keep safe!" There was a slight tremor to his voice as he hissed the warning to the others, then launched himself into the air. His wings snapped out and beat upward, carrying him past the clear space the great winged beast had made. He didn't know what it was, but it had taken a sentient creature, one that had seemed non-hostile, and it had a scent of carrion to its feathered body.
He saw it, already far ahead, flying fast, and positioned himself to follow - then something struck him hard, knocking him back into the trees. The carrion stench was heavy in the air - he thought from the first creature, but no, a second had been lurking in the sky!

Jedidiah:
". . of course your name is important, why-" he started to ask before stopping . . .wait, was she introuble? . . .
"Tiv ik Urvuh."
'Tiv ik Urvuh' ? what was that suppose to mean? . . and she looked apon the pink haired one. . as if she was suppose to understand what that phrase meant. . .
then again, it was similar to the sentence structure the pink haired one was speaking prior. .
when he heard the wingbeat of something big above them, he jolted, before grabbing Kira and Lunia again, in a protective manner as the bird swooped down for the not dog being thing and flew after it. . .leaving a flock in its wake. . . "Itrewic spical! Doktar Jeddy! Keep safe!" Ash called. " aahh. . horrible large birds, stop being horrible!" he replied, before grousing at the birds. . . he noticed a second bird swipe at Ash, before there was a third and a fourth, flying in circles, while the first one followed the strange being. . . when one of the birds moved to make a swipe at him, he inhaled before breathing fire at the bird, a short burst to shoo the bird away with something scary and painful. "no, bad bird, go away. " he groused at the bird retreating to higher altitude . . .there was a chance it was going to try and attack again. . . .

Kira's eyes widened almost impossibly larger as she was passed to the pink scaled woman. She clambered into the woman's arms, grabbing almost monkey like to the woman's waist and torso when the giant of a man reached suddenly to scoop both of them into his own hands once again. Kira squeaked in fear, clinging tighter to the colorful individual, wrapping wings around her shoulders and head in a fit of panic, nearly even folding herself around the woman's neck and head in the confusion of the moment. The moment before chaos broke loose once more, she thought she saw something fall upon the large white creature that had begun to creep out of its hiding place in the bushes, and was lifted into the sky. That was when Ash had passed Kira to the next person and had taken off after it, but more of the large winged shapes were now descending upon the group. Kira hugged the fish woman like her life depended on it, and felt heat sear the fur upon her back as flames shot upwards at the diving creatures.
Kira cried out, ears pinned and tail tucked, as she huddled to the pink-scaled woman. This wasn't punishment, but Kira felt panicked nonetheless. Her widened eyes followed the dark shapes as they swooped and circled overhead. Their silhouettes against the night sky looked nothing like a Burbat, as each winged appendage branched into feathers at the tips. Having never seen feathers before, Kira had no idea what to make of the things.
A loud squawk issued from one of the razor-beaked buzzards and soon it was diving once again at Jedidiah, taloned feet outstretched to grab at the prizes he held protectively against him. It would fight giant man-thing to the death if it had to. It wanted a meal, and the two squirming creatures in the man-thing's arms looked similar to what their creator had once fed them before setting them free. As soon as the bird made contact, it would grasp and claw at Jedidiah with its feet, pecking at him with its razor sharp beak, and beating oil-black wings against his shoulders and head. It attacked with a ravenous fury, all while trying to get at the morsels in the man's arms, raining greasy, ruffled feathers all over the place in its frenzy.

[OOC: Sorry I've been too busy with my new job. If it's okay, Lunia will just exit this rp. Don't want to hold you guys back]
Lunia heard the strong beats of wings before frantically squirming out of Jedi as her body naturally slimed up in response to emotions. Allowing her an easy way to squirm out and do what she had always been good at. Both home and now. Run.

Ash flailed as his wings beat against the leaves and branches of the trees he had just flown out of. Feathered wings battered him, and he felt more than saw talons not so unlike his own reaching to hook into him. He twisted sharply, flaring out his scales to provide a more prickly target. He felt the creature's claws graze his thigh, but they didn't pierce, merely scraping against his scales as he twisted out of the way. He kicked at the winged monstrosity with his own talons, but didn't feel them sink into anything before he pushed away.
Just in time; he pulled away from the creature just as a gout of flame poured forth from the forest, engulfing one of the creature's wings. He drew a sharp breath, startled by the sudden flame, watching as the avian creature squawked and flailed. There were more such noises from below - others engaged with his friends? Had one of these creatures caused that flame? Or perhaps something else had joined the fray?
He worried briefly for Doktar Jeddy and the two smaller entities that he had left in the giant's care, but he wasn't given time to consider flying to their aid. The creature managed to beat out the flames in a matter of moments, its feathers barely singed. He was unable to twist out of the way of its talons this time - they closed around one of his legs, curving past the scales into the flesh beneath. He hissed sharply and grappled with the creature, trying to push it off with lashes of his tail and beats of his wings.
Its grip tightened and in a brief moment of panic he pressed in close and bit at one of it's wings. His teeth caught in the feathers - the sensation was unpleasant, greasy and tasting vaguely of rot - then pierced its flesh. But the spurt of blood that sprayed across his tongue was foul - thick and stinging. He choked, spitting blood and feathers, coughing heavily. Still, the gambit had achieved some good - the creature released him, perhaps startled by the bite, and he fell back beneath the trees, his wingbeats faltering.

Jedidiah:
he yelped in pain when the bird once again, dug its claws into his back, although it was not like lava, it would feel as though it just plunged its claws into boiling water. . . he groused all the while, the fish girl squirmed out of his grasp. . " wait, its not safe!" he called to the girl. . and like that, she was gone. . . worried it will go after the girl, he grappled the bird's leg with a newly free hand and broke the leg in three places by clinching his fist into a tight ball around the bird's leg. . all to force the bird to let go of him. . .all the while holding onto the small bat. . kera. . in his other arm protectively. . before feeling something else pulling at the bird. . .perhaps it was Ash? he kept hold of the bird so it doesnt go after Lunia, but nao to keep it from turning its attention to Ash as well. . .while the bird ripped at his back furiously. . .
thank God the prosthetic plate blocks most of where the stupid bird was attacking. . .though the other side where the other talon dug into, it was bloodied all to hell. . .while the pecking at the back of his head did no wonders for him at all. . . whelp. . . hes going to look like a bloodied mess. . . . at least his blood cools off to normal human temperatures shortly after it leaves his body. . .
