Ru patted Simon’s shoulder. He’d have to make a note to watch Good Manners with Simon sometime. He’d have to turn on the subtitles, thanks to his lack of ability in…just about any language honestly. Maybe he’d find some other werewolf movies to watch with his boyfriend, he’d just have to vet them and make sure they were suitably cheesy first.
“Aliens who learn to love? You really do have an intriguing list of films on your docket.”
The vampire wondered if he had anything to share with her in terms of film taste. Probably not. He knew a great deal about music but not as much about movies unless they were talking about gothic works.
“You’d probably like meeting my friend August; he’s very into movies. In fact he made some. He’s um, also a vampire.”
Ru eyed Theadora, and wondered if she would recognize him from any weird indie works. Hopefully not, or if she did, she wouldn’t put two and two together like that. He poked his fingers together.
“I know you work late, but maybe we can arrange um. A meeting. I mean… a hang out. With movies. And um, I can bring August sometime if you’d like. He’s nice.”
The vampire could feel himself rambling, and did his best not to tug at his collar in response. He felt so foolish when he wasn't able to stay on subject.

"Listen, we keep finding more. We can't NOT add 'em to the list."
The list was... Impressive. A work of fine literature, at this point.
Simon nodded his head vigorously at the mention of his other favorite undead pal. August would love Thea! He was one of the world's sweetest vampires, one of the kindest souls he'd ever met.
"August is great, Thea. You'd like him. He's big into movies, and he's got the best accent known to man."
The Australian mixed with Texan was something one had to experience first hand to understand.

Oh? A new person? Yet another vampire? What a group. Thea was starting to wonder when she'd be meeting mothman at this rate.
"Oh? A better accent than my own?" She managed a light tease, taking another sip of coffee "I would appreciate meeting him" She confirmed as she put her cup down. "Also, if you would like, I can send you the amusing spreadsheet with our movie list" She offered to Ru. That list could not be kept on paper, at least not at its current length.
"I do not work late all of the time" She addressed "So long as it does not fall on a night that I work at the bar, I should be free for an evening hangout"

Ru smiled. The nervous man had very few genuine smiles in him, but this seemed to be one of them. His blue eyes glimmered in the dim light of the bar, sharp teeth gleaming in what had to be the most vampire-like expression he’d made to date. He pressed his black hair out of his face with his fingers.
“Yeah, he’s got quite a few um. Quirky sayings too. And he’s got lots of opinions on movies. Especially the really strange and rare ones!”
The vampire seemed excited by the prospect, as much as some of August’s most highbrow film choices were… interesting to say the least. The man certainly had an artistic flare to him.
He raised an eyebrow at Simon over the question of the spreadsheet. What sort of movies did they watch together? Was it worth than Simon’s usually fare that he subjected Ru to? Foreign films really had their own thing going, but if there was one thing he could respect, it was having a different perspective.
“Oh. Great. We um. I can plan something. I have days off too!”
Ru spoke proudly, forgetting that most normal jobs had days off. Thea probably had the same number of days off as he did, actually.
“And um, we have a ghost too, so don’t be scared if you come over… Um, if you haven’t met her already.”
He glanced at Simon. Had they met already? He wasn’t sure, but just in case.

"10/10 recommend him."
The werewolf nodded his continued approval of August.
Simon beamed at Ru as the vampire explained that, yes, he too got days off. Oh, but wasn't he cute.
" Oh, yeah. Gia. It's a regular monstermash at home, Thea. We've almost got supernatural Bingo. She's..."
Simon glanced at Thea, then Ru for an explanation of the ghost flapper that had both made herself at home in Ru's apartment and wandered her way into Simon's. The woman had threatened him, briefly, then decided she liked him. Now... She stepped in and did his dishes while offering commentary on their lives. She was like Ru's strange spectral pseudo-aunt. He was used to her now, fond of her, but in the back of his mind he was concerned at the ease with which she had seemed comfortable threatening him with a ghostly shotgun.
"...Harmless, mostly. We're friends. She's old and funny."

Theadora seemed a bit incredulous at the mention of a ghost, but honestly - she supposed it wasn't that out of left field. It was pretty firmly in-field, actually. Werewolves, vampires, ghosts? The more the merrier.
"She is.... nice?" Thea asked. She actually didn't care about the ghost being harmless - being nice was more important to her. She finished her drink, pushing the cup away from her "And, ehm, Ru, if you would like, I can give you my number, or perhaps Simon can give it to you?"
Thea was trying her best to be more open to making friends - her and Simon had had this conversation, at least casually, that even if she was a busy person, she was a bit more of a homebody than she should be. Frankly, where better to start than here?

Ru nodded. Gia was nice. Very nice, in fact, once you befriended her. And her injection into his life was something like an unofficial adoption by the strange older lady. He rubbed the back of his head, and smiled, hoping that Gia would like Thea. Honestly, he couldn’t imagine why she wouldn’t.
“Oh um, yeah!”
He handed Thea his cellphone without a second thought, his trans cat charm jiggling against it a little. For someone out as much as he was with Simon, he didn’t have that many friends, and didn’t socialize as often as he should. He was something of an introvert, and he didn’t love that aspect of himself.
“Press the call button afterwards, and I’ll add you.”
The vampire leaned back. She seemed cool, and even if her movies weren’t really to her taste, he’d enjoy expanding his views.
“I um. I love hanging with Simon, but I’m the first to admit that I’m a little too insular…”

Simon observed their phone number exchange with a smile on his face. More friends would only do the both of them more good. Admittedly, he did worry some about Thea going deeper into the world of the supernatural, but he only a little. She had nothing to fear, not really. Certainly not from his friends, or really from most supers. Thea would adapt well- She'd already done so with him, and was knowingly sitting with a vampire and getting his number.
"You gotta go do something without me together or something. Catch a movie or look at ghosts."
Simon wiggled his fingers to indicate ghosts, then shrugged.

Surprised at how quickly Ru handed over his phone, Thea took the phone and quickly keyed in her number, not letting any anxiety she might have take over her hands. she then called herself, and checked her phone, denying the call so that she could save it before handing the phone back.
"Thank you" She gratefully nodded, before looking over at Simon " 'Look at' ghosts? In what way?"
That was a genuine question. Theadora was wondering if she should just start writing down all of her questions and just - handing them to Simon on a monthly basis. She was just going to keep having questions about this world of supernatural creatures.

Ru squeezed Simon’s shoulder gently, leaning against his boyfriend’s shoulder. His gaze was soft and affectionate as he looked longingly at Simon’s attention was directed elsewhere. He then leaned back over towards Thea, recollecting his phone. He smiled down at it, and slipped it back in his pocket, after using his finger to wiggle the little cat charm again.
“But Simon, if you don’t join us, we won’t get to talk about ‘Blood Guzzling Death Zombies’ together.”
The vampire was unwilling to let his unpleasant memories of that particular film go. It was so catastrophically bad, the vampire had decided to interrupt it with an impromptu make-out session, which ended up being both better and more entertaining than the film.
The question brought him back to the present, and he nibbled on his lower lip as he pondered the possibilities.
“Oh, um, well, I help ghosts, but sometimes I go find them, and we have a little talk. I don’t really know if you’d like going with me on one of those adventures, but since I can see them, they tend to want to find me anyways.”

"I trust you'll find a way to discuss 'Blood Guzzling Death Zombies' without me. Thea's a smart cookie. She's seen plenty of films where they went a little heavy on the ol' ketchup bottle."
Simon clunked his head against Ru's, smirking as he dipped some of the fries in a hefty glob of ketchup and holding it up. He wiggled his eyebrows, then ate the mess.
He nodded sagely at Thea, licking some ketchup that had dripped onto the back of his hand.
"He's a ghost magnet."

"Considering that we watched "The Blood Baths of Bathory" I have a feeling that most movies with a lot of blood will not have an effect on me anymore" She admitted with a chuckle, watching the two of them be almost painfully cute with each other. It was nice to see Simon so happy with a partner.
"A ghost magnet?" she repeated after hearing Ru's explanation "That sounds... very tedious. Though were it to happen while we were "hanging out" i would not blame you, of course"
She took a quick look at her phone to check the time before giving them her full attention once again.

Ru shook his head gently at Simon’s antics, and kissed the back of his boyfriend’s hand. For just that moment, he rather resembled a movie vampire, and then was back to looking as harmless and foolish as ever.
“I um. In the apartment, at least.. um, our apartment, you only have to worry about Gia. Otherwise um…. If we’re out or something, I might find friends, and if I do, I’m really sorry.”
The vampire looked genuinely apologetic. He knew that ghosts were scary, uncomfortable, and just not very fun to be around for most people a good deal of the time.
“What Simon means is, he’ll definitely come to our movie showings, at least for a while, and then, if um, if you want, I’d love to see where you get most of your films. I’m… I really need to get out more.”
Ru looked honestly sheepish.

"Absolutely," Simon agreed with Ru, "I wanna hang out with you guys."
It would be cute for Ru and Thea to be friends, he thought as he took another thoughtful bite of fries. The couch was certainly big enough for three. Four even. Five, someone would have to take a chair.
"Would you wanna go through some of the list next week? Have a movie night?"
The werwolf wiped his hand on a napkin, fishing out his phone so that he could match up his free time to Ru's and Thea's. Thea was a busy little lady, what with her multiple jobs, and both he and Ru worked.

Thea nodded as Ru explained the ghost situation, understanding his concerns. That certainly sounded troublesome to her!
"I think that next week should work out, I will have to check my schedule and get back to you - it is not released until tomorrow" She explained, huffing. "The manager quite likes taking his time telling me when I am working"
Such is the life of a barista. "I would also like to get out more, when I have the time"
