Ash followed Doktar Jeddy up to the front where he set all of the books onto a counter for a merchant to tally up what was owed. He moved a little closer to the Giant as he did this, peering around his large form to watch as he laid out whatever currency he meant to pay with. The slips of paper confused him, but those and the coins seemed to be what served as money here.
After a few moments watching he stepped back and to the side, holding out his hands to accept one of the boxes as it was filled. It was a little heavy, but nothing he couldn't handle. Then he waited for Doktar Jeddy to finish so that they could move on.

Jedidiah:
during the transaction, he did what he could to try and teach or show Ash what was going on. . when the cashier was finally finished ringing up the boxes of books, he tried to get Ash's attention and show him the total, before pulling out close to exact amount in cash. . showing him the differences between the ones, the 5s, the 10s, the 20s, the 50s, and 100s . . before paying the cashier the money. when the cashier returned the change, he showed Ash the change, if he chose to take some of it or all of the change of 5 bucks and 50 cents, he let him take it. .
then his pager went off. . .he gave Ash the lightest of the boxes, before looking at his pager, before he grimaced. he then pulled his phone out and picked up the cell. " Dr. Gurulf speaking. . . . yes. . . which arm? . . . .i see. . . .im in town, but it will take me about 30 mins to reach the clinic. . . alright. . i will be there as soon as i can. " he replied, before hanging up after the nurse hung up . . . . he then picked up the other boxes before looking to Ash " alright, there abit of an emergency, lets go. " he replied, before leading the way to his clinic, carrying the other three boxes with ease.

Ash did pay attention as Doktar Jeddy tried to show him the different currencies, but it still seemed strange to him - difficult to tell the different paper things apart. When some of it was offered to him - presumably to examine more closely, he did so. The coins felt more pleasing in his hand than the paper did, but he examined each in turn before turning to try to give them back.
He had just offered the money back to the big man when something on Doktar Jeddy's belt began chittering and cheeping, the sound loud and high pitched. He made a startled noise and took a step back, staring at the thing, then at Jeddy as he took some sort of device from a pocket and began to speak to it, saying part of his name and then... a bunch of gibberish. After a moment, he set the forgotten currency in one of the boxes, then picked the box up again to carry it.
Doktar Jeddy's manner had changed slightly, a bit more tense and hurried. He glanced to the beeping thing a bit warily, then back up at the tall man. He adjusted his grip on the box, shifted his weight from foot to foot, uncertain what all of that had been about, but when the man began to move, he followed.

Jedidiah:
he continued to walk, continually checking to make sure Ash was still following him, but should Ash start to tire, he would scoop him and the box he was holding up to where he was carrying the boxes with Ash on his shoulders. but not before setting the boxes down to do so, since there is the risk of hurting the lad if he did attempt to do this with boxes of books in hand. . only picking up the boxes after doing so. again, thanks to his size, there wasnt much foot traffic near the two, when there was, alot of the folk walked around and away from the doctor. . . normally put off by his height alone, the boxes of books he carried made pedestrians abit more weary of the doctor.
as they walked the area became less and less dense with buildings, the tall skyscrapers became more and more distant behind them as they tead through the streets of the suburban areas of the city towards the woods, or rather, the entrance Jedidiah carved out to the clinic. .
at the end of the suburban area there was paved path with the obvious appearance it was done recently as well as Jedidiah could do, a rather decent masonry work, but all the same, in an area that may not treat the path with the same kindness. there was a brick sign stating the clinic's name and who's practice it was. along with a small plotted area for floral and shrubbery to grow apon just in front of the sign, while a large tree was included into the sign as well. . for it stood directly behind the sign. . .the path had a smoothed out ramp towards the clinic and guard-railing as well as a staircase to the clinic that was also accompanied by a guard-railing. . . . soon, a large clinic came into view some ways into the treeline, a path carved out from the giant's building of the clinic, and the clinic itself brand new and recently built.
it was built rather tall and broad, in part, using the mountain's slope to aid it against wind gradient. off to the side, more trees were cleared out of the way to create an obvious clearing, where a helicopter pad was present. . it was minimalistic, but allowed just incase they needed the hospital to send a helicopter to the clinic to take someone to the hospital. . the building served as a general clinic as well as a pre-stop for emergencies so the hospital would be able to reach people in the mountains in the area the clinic was in much easier- should the patient have been brought to the clinic first. the building itself, built of carved stone and chopped wood, did not have much paint on it outside of a large red cross painted and placed up high as a sign. in part for the helicopter, for there were a few wires going around the clearing as well as the sign to light the area up for landing.
he walked around the varnished building to the back, leading Ash towards the back door before punching in the code with a free digit and carefully opening the door and letting Ash in first through the employee's entrance, before entering himself, the heavy door closing and finally setting the boxes down in front of his office. where 'Dr. Jedidiah Gurulf' was tagged on the door.
the inside was white and smooth. . there was a clean metalic smell to it. . as well as abit of bleach. . . .
he grimaced at the screaming and yelling of the patient in question. . . . the patient was being combative. . .with a broken arm, no doubt. . . " . .ahh, Ash, stay here for abit, please. . . theres a patient i need to help. . " he tried to explain, before he unlocked his office and opened the door for Ash so he could sit down and read. Jedidiah then hurried along to go towards the front lobby where the combative patient was. . .

Ash kept pace along behind Doktar Jeddy, peering about as they walked. This city was... different, very different from anywhere he had been before. It frightened him a little. But it seemed as if, slowly, they were leaving it - the tall structures grew shorter and more greenery was interspersed throughout. He did grow tired of walking fairly quickly, and it was largely due to his being unused to footwear - he walked differently, was more aware of his feet and the way the leather rubbed against them - but when the big man moved as if to pick him up he hopped backward fairly quickly, shifting his grip on his box so he could raise one hand, palm flat: "Thric. Si mi kruth," he stated, hoping the man understood the gesture, if not the words. He didn't want to be picked up.
The structures gradually became fewer and fewer, until they were walking into the beginnings of a forest - a real forest, from what he could see. It wasn't long before he saw that the path they walked along lead to another structure, overshadowed by a large tree. Cultivated plants and flowers lined the path up to the entrance to the building. As they neared the entrance, Doktar Jeddy took a path to the side and lead him to another door in the back of the building, then ushered him inside.
The interior was... very bright. He squinted his eyes against all of the reflective white surfaces until his pupils had contracted enough to accomodate it after the dark outside. The smell here was... a little offputting, metal and something pungent, acrid. He sneezed sharply and set the box down. As he straightened again, a shout from one of the adjoining rooms startled him and he jumped, taking a step back and hissing past his teeth. Doktar Jeddy gestured at him, speaking, then opened another door and gestured for him to go inside. He hesitated a moment, then stepped into the room and watched as the big man hurried off down the hallway toward another door.
He watched that hallway a moment, then turned to examine his new surroundings, poking around a bit. Finally, he sat down gingerly on an odd chair with wheels on its feet, that seemed to want to roll around at the slightest pressure. He sat quietly for a good bit of time - nervously glancing about now and then, unsure of what to do or how long he was to wait here. Finally - after the screaming had died down a bit - he pushed himself up and crept out of the room, heading back into the hall that Doktar Jeddy had disappeared down. He pushed open the door at the end a crack, peered through and scented the air, then pushed it open a bit more to poke his head out. "Doktar Jeddy? Svanoa drong mi si ekess stharl tenpiswo?"

Jedidiah:
when he entered the client hallway, he could see the patient was failing a weapon at the nurses. . no, rather a part of the scale, he was agitated. . then Doctor Jedidiah could see the issue. . . it was a shifter, a broken wing and a broken arm. . . partially shifted as if he was stuck mid shift. "WHERES THE DOCTOR!? " the patient barked.
" I am right here, what is your name? we can help you if you put the scale . . . down. " he replied. .
the shifter jumped and turned around before seeing the shear height of the doctor. . .he hesitated for a bit before jerking his good hand with the part of the scale at the break, before back at the doctor. " I've been told you can help people like me, I need it fixed, it hurts!" "did you let the nurses record your weight? "
"what the fuck does my weight have to do with my BROKEN. ARM?"
"we need to record your weight so there a lesser risk of overdosing you on pain medicines. "
"who cares as long as it gets fixed!" the patient barked.
"can you calm down for me? your only making the break worse while you continue to move and swing the broken limbs around. " he asked.
the patient seemed to pace a bit, slipping on some of the droplets of blood on the tile before jolting the scale part at one of the nurses , whom proceeded to squeak.
"do you have a name? " Jedidiah asked calmly again.
when the door opened, Jedidiah noticed it but kept his gaze on the combative patient. . "Doktar Jeddy? Svanoa drong mi si ekess stharl tenpiswo?" "who said that?!" the patient suddenly started to look around, before looking around at the nurses, but not making the connection that the voice and the door crack came from behind the doctor.
"listen, you are in no danger here. . .in fact you are putting the others in danger flailing the scale part around. . . if you put the piece down, we can help you, I can help you. but I need you to put the piece down. . ." he tried. the patient started to pace around again, apon inspection, he noticed there was a long coat on the ground, it was covered in blood and on the hallway floor. . that explains hao he was able to come in without causing too much of a stir. . .
"how do I know your not just going to kill me? I cant even shift into one form or the other!" he hissed.
hes just in pain, but if he does try to attack, we gotta restrain him for his own good. . Jedidiah thought. "If you really think we were just going to hurt you, would you have walked into the clinic? " he carefully asked.
"are you makin fun of me?!" he sharply questioned the doctor. " . . no, I was just asking you a question. . . look, you need to calm down, before you hurt yourself or someone else. . we can help, just please. . . calm down. . "

Ash blinked and froze as he took in the sight in the lobby. Doktar Jeddy was there, of course, as well as a few other humans who looked distressed. And in the center of everything was a winged humanoid. For a brief moment, Ash thought it was another like himself, but that hope was quickly dashed as he stared wide-eyed at the man, examining him. For starters, he was not completely scaled - his face and the undersides of his arms, perhaps his whole front, seemed to be light slightly golden toned skin. His scales were a bright bluish-greenish color and overlapped in a way that reminded Ash of a fish. The man did have a crest, although it appeared to be some sort of coarse hair rather than scales - a brilliant purple, starting at the top of his head and following a line down the back of his neck. The hair seemed to continue down under his clothing, as it was also present along the back of his long, snake-like tail and formed a tuft at the very end. The man's wings were off, as well - they looked almost like giant hands with webbed fingers.
Ash stared at the man for a long few moments, his pointed ears twitching as the man shouted and gestured. He smelled of blood and both one of his wings and one of his arms were held at awkward angles, the scales ripped and broken. The man was clearly injured and angry, though perhaps that later was from fright. Ash would have been frightened as well, among a bunch of humans who didn't understand him.
Ash considered the scene a moment, then shifted, his form blurring into the scaled form that Doktar Jeddy had first seen. He stepped forward and around the giant man, holding his hands palm up infront of him, fingers relaxed, trying to show that he meant no harm.
"Ifpesp. Coi geou qe kepatmasto." His deep voice was pitched low, holding a soothing lilt to it. He doubted the man would understand him - he seemed to be speaking the same language that Doktar Jeddy spoke - but he hoped his calm tone and slow movements would help put the other at ease. "Wux re ti loaw."

Jedidiah:
he glanced over at Ash, as he shifted and carefully stepped around and infront of him, he was growing increasingly concerned. . . . as Ash started to speak, he looked at between Ash and the patient. . . worried for the both of them. . . he started to think where he will need to go, what he will need to do. . . the nurses were staying a decent way from the man, at least out of the guy's immediate reach. . . he started to plan hao he will need to subdue the patient should he become violent without harming Ash, the nurses or the patient. . .
the patient on the other hand looked at Ash, looking the draconic being up and down before pausing when Ash started to speak. . . there was an apparent look of confusion, but some of the words did get through. . ." <you wish milk to cactus down? bridge should I?! inkbrush has 'calm' obtain to with this? water if that healer red milk!?> " the patient demanded back in a similar tongue. . . Jedidiah blinked in abit of surprise. . . wait. . . are they. . . can they speak the same tongue? or was it just similar?

Ash faltered a moment, a furrow forming between his scaled brows. It was exciting that the stranger seemed to know his language but... but what was he trying to say? The words he strung together made little sense. His crest shivered, raising just slightly as he took another step forward, offering a hand palm-up toward the turquoise-scaled man.
"[Red... milk? Do you mean blood? But... you need to calm down. Doktar Jeddy will help you with your wing.]" The look that the turquoise man gave him was almost offended, and his crest flattened a little. He spread one of his wings and gestured to it. "[Your wing. Wing. Be calm. We can fix it. Fix. The wing.]" He hissed a breath, a little frustrated.

Jedidiah:
"what the hell does potatoes have to do with-" the patient started with before going back into speaking the tongue he was "<red milk, you know? spread death!>" the patient snapped before the patient just continued to listen. . .Jedidiah looked between the two, before pondering for a moment. . .". .do you understand what he is saying? " he asked. "yeah, hes talking about ferrets." the patient replied. . . the doctor pondered for a bit more before replying. " . . perhaps you two speak similar languages, but not the same. . . like hao Spanish and french languages are romantic languages. " he suggested. " or perhaps one of you is speaking a form of pigeon that shares similar words to the other. . .well a pigeon tongue to one person, but not to the other. " he added.
"oh, really? a pigeon? if you know so much, give me an example. " the patient demanded.
the doctor looked at the patient before shrugging. " bien, εσείς hat getan ερώτηση кто то qui pourrait dare ένα издеваться Beispiel. しかし 可悲的是, 나는 行う 아니 知道 ~ 실제의 鳩 舌 그 是 に 용도 該 瞬間. (well, you did question someone who could give a mock example. But sadly, I do not know an actual pigeon tongue that is in use as the moment.)" he replied. . .he kept an English build of the sentences, but chose to mix French, Russian, German, Greek, and Latin words together, while the second sentence mixed Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin words together. . . the patient blinked at him before he then looked at ash. . . "<you certain, that healer good?>" he questioned. . . it
was obvious he was still mad, but there was fear that had been there since the situation started, but was nao more apparent nao the anger was subsiding. . . he glanced at Ash for reassurance before he meekly modded and dropped the scale part. " <fine. . .I fox you. >" he replied, looking at Ash. . .before trying to gesture that he trusted the guy.

"[... red... milk?]" He repeated again, unhelpfully, tilting his head slightly to the side. "[You won't get sick. Do you mean sick? Like...]" he made a coughing noise, gesturing at himself as he did, "[... sick? Like that?]"
Ash quieted when the man began to speak with Doktar Jeddy, looking back and to the side at the giant man. His ears twitched and his crest fell back flat when the man began speaking in tongues. He could tell that the languages were different from what he usually spoke, the cadences different, but... it was all foreign to him. He wondered if the scaled man understood it? But he looked just as lost. As he was looking at the man however, the man turned to regard him again and asked him another question. This time, at least, he seemed to make a bit more sense. He nodded, his crest perking up again. "[Good healer. Yes. It will be good. It will be fine. Just calm down so we can heal it.]"
Ash smiled a little when the man seemed to relent, and he stepped a little nearer, and gently laid a hand on the man's uninjured shoulder, trying to convey reassurance. "[All will be well.]"

Jedidiah:
he looked between the two, before seeing Ash near the patient and pat him on the shoulder reassuringly. he sighed, before taking a gentle step towards the two. " . . .can you tell us your name? . . " he asked. the patient looked between Ash and the doctor before finally replying. ". . Its Jacob Qiang" "alright, Mr. Qiang, lets see about fixing your limbs, though perhaps not out here in the lobby. " he suggested. Jacob hesitantly nodded, Jedidiah gestured for them to go towards an exam room, Ash seemed to help keep Jacob calm . . less stress, make it easier to take care of his wound and assess the damage.

Ash patted the man's shoulder again, then released him as Doktar Jeddy stepped forward to speak with him. At least through what the man had said, he had learned that Doktar Jeddy was a healer - he wondered if he was a shaman as well 'though he knew many humans practiced mundane forms of the healer-art as well, using herbs and such.
He meant to step back and let Doktar Jeddy handle things from here out, but the other winged man gave him a... vulnerable? sort of look and instead he found himself following a few paces behind. He tucked his wings close to his body, a little uncomfortable in the hallways - certainly they were tall and wide enough for someone as large as Doktar Jeddy to walk comfortably but that still wasn't big enough to make a comfortable flying space.
Once they were out of the hallway and in the room where Doktar Jeddy apparently meant to tend to the injured man, Ash tried to stand out of the way, but still near enough to keep the other man calm and comfortable. He did find that he liked being of some use, and he smiled, continuing to try to reassure the other winged man.

Jedidiah:
he looked over towards the nurses and gave them a nod, as he lead Jacob towards an exam room, with Ash following . . .again, with Ash around, hopefully the patient will remain calm enough for him to be able to help the patient. "your not putting me under though." Jacob stated as he entered the exam room. . .Jedidiah looked at the patient concerned but sighed. " it might be easier for both of us if I put you under. . but if you insist. . just try to not move around while I set your bones. " he replied. he pulled out a scale for Jacob to stand on before he wrote down , along with the patient's name. ." do you have any allergies, Mr. Qiang? " he asked. " no. . i aint allergic to anything. " Jacob replied. "would you like to explain hao you managed to sustain your broken limbs?" he asked, as he wrote down more notes, while the patient was quiet, Jedidiah seemed to paused for a moment, before writing down the heart-rate of the patient. "i was flying in the mountains before this group of asshats started shooting at me. . .landed hard and ran. . .didn realize my arm was broken till it got snagged on a tree. " he replied.
Jedidiah looked at the man, pausing for a moment. " . . . do you know what time this happened? " he asked. looking at the breakages. . .he doesn't have alot of time to mess around. . . .he will have to report this the incident to the police after surgery. . .though he could have one of the nurses call this in. . "I can apply local anesthesia. . . you will be wide awake during the surgery, but you might not feel what I will be doing to your wing and arm while I set the bone and suture your wounds up. " he informed the patient. " . . fine, . . .but in here and I am not staying in here alone with you." Jacob replied. Jedidiah looked at the patient, before looking at Ash apologetically. . .hopefully he doesn't scare the dragonic being. ". . . you might want to ask him to stay with you during the surgery. . ." he replied, looking back to Jacob. . " Mr. Qiang, perhaps if you introduce yourself to him for a bit. I will need to prepare for surgery. . if you will excuse me. " he nodded, before ducking out of the room to go do so.
Jacob looked back at Ash, pondering for a moment. "<cat you stay here? I still no fox that healer. >" he asked Ash.

Ash kept out of the way while Doktar Jeddy did... things, things that mostly appeared to be gesturing for the other man to move places, and then writing things down. The two of them were talking to each other as well, although he couldn't understand the words - the other man still seemed belligerent and wary, while Doktar Jeddy was more difficult to read.
When they both looked at him he straightened, his crest flattening self-consciously. He looked from Doktar Jeddy to the other man uncertainly. "[What?]" he rumbled uncertainly. They spoke again, then Doktar Jeddy stepped outside, leaving him with the man. He watched Doktar Jeddy as he left, his crest rising slightly and taking a questioning set, and then turned to the other man.
He understood a little of what the other man said to him, and he bobbed his head in a nod. "[I'll stay. Do you need me closer?]" He stepped a little closer to the other man, smiling.
