Jedidiah:
he pondered abit after hearing the size of Ash's feet and seeing him glace back over to him. . " . . can you grab two pairs of shoes? a set of black tennis shoes and a set of sandals for my friend? slip ons or straps, please. " he asked. the employee nodded before going towards the back. . . returning with two sets of shoes, a black set of tennis shoes and a set of brown sandals . . both were size 10s in mens. . she handed the two boxes to the two. Jedidiah simply lifted the lids off both of them and looked to ash to see which set he would pick.
eventually he will have to figure out hao to ask ash color and what not, but black is a pretty ok color to start with? . . then there is brown too. . nothing too flashy or flamboyant. . . there are alotta crazy colors, but this is just to protect ash's feet till he can act more independently language wise. . .at that point he can replace the shoes or do whatever he wants to the first pair, replace em with his preference. though, for nao hes just going to have to settle with creating some level of communication with ash. . .when they go to a book store, hes gonna have to get some children's books and what not. . .dictionaries. . with the children's books they can start with translating some things. . .using picture references. .would help both of em, ash learning english, and Jedidiah learn whatever ash's language was. . . hopefully, that is.

Ash was relieved that the big man spoke to the merchant, presumably answering whatever it was she had said. He hunched his shoulders a little, leaning forward a little, self-conscious. The woman left and then reappeared a few minutes later with a pair of boxes which were set on the bench beside him. Doktar took the lids off of them and then looked at him in a questioning manner, and so he leaned over to consider the two boxes. One was a set of foot-covers that seemed to cover the entire foot, and the other was a set comprised of a number of leather straps, leaving sections of the foot uncovered.
He hesitated a moment, then reached for one of the strappy things, curious about it. The idea of having his feet fully covered was... something he wasn't sure he was comfortable with, but at least these would leave sections uncovered, able to feel the air? He turned the foot-cover around in his hands, then lifted one of his feet to try to put it on - it took him a moment to realize he needed to undo one of the straps, which had buckle like a belt's, to get it to slip on properly. Then he took the second cover - which had an odd clip on it, made of some sort of hard white material - and put it on as well, then placed his covered feet upon the floor. It felt odd, and he wondered how it would feel walking in these but... well, if it would help him fit in better, then he would have to get used to it.
"Ui nomeno winhal? Nomenoi urac hethaic?" He looked up at Doktar Jeddy again uncertainly.

Jedidiah:
he looked and watched ash figit with the shoe before he was able to put them on. . . when ash asked him something, he had no clue as to what he was asking. . .perhaps he was unsure which to pick? . . .or the security tag on the tennis shoe was of question. . ." . . well, if you like em, hand them to the shoe clerk, so she can ring them up. " he replied. he paused for a moment and tried to gesture. . . pointing at the shoes before pointing at the employee's hands.
the employee, seemed confused as hell as to what was going on outside of just realizing this customer just did not speak english. . .nor did it seem the doctor could really speak the guy's language either. . . perhaps he was just helping a stranger out? . . well, speaks volumes for the guy's character and hay, thats just more money in the store's pocket, more money for her so she can pay the rent. " perhaps he should get both pairs of shoes? if hes not sure. . .then he can use either one at his own discretion? " she suggested.

Doktar Jeddy spoke and gestured something Ash did not fully comprehend. His brows furrowed slightly as he regarded the big man, looking where he gestured. Was he... telling him to take the covers off again? Were they not right then? After a few moments of confused staring, he lifted his feet to remove the covers one at a time and place them back in the box. The man gestured for him to take the box up to the merchant again, and somewhat uncertainly he rose to do so, setting it on the counter she had moved to stand behind.
"Si tir ti vucot svabol si mi tirir," he mumbled, low glancing up at the merchant, then down, then back at Doktar Jeddy uncertainly. The gesture he made was a sort of confused shrug, his hand moving to encompass the Giant as well as the merchant and his counter and the box. "Svabol jaka?" While the words were foreign, the gesture and how he said them seemed to convey a fairly simple question: 'what do I do now?'

Jedidiah:
He watched as ash took the shoes off and put them inside of the box, before taking them to the counter. .he moved his way towards the counter, trying his best to not knock anything over " . . will this be all?" The employee asked. Jedidiah paused for abit before looking around, seeing and grabbing a red backpack before placing it on the counter "yes, this will be all" he replied. The lady nodded before tip tapping onto the register the prices, including taxes, removing security tags before looking at the doctor with the final price. "ok, your total is $95.69" she stated.
Jedidiah merely nodded before pulling his wallet out and pulling out a 100 bill, handing it to the cashier. . in which she took the bill, checked to see if it was forged, before putting it in the register and giving the doctor $4.31. "thank you, have a great day. " she nodded. he nodded before taking the two boxes of shoes and the backpack, before handing the shoes back to ash, and removing the packaging from the backpack before also giving him the backpack. " alright, these are all yours nao, ash. " he stated.

Ash watched the exchange between Doktar Jeddy and the merchant, not entirely comprehending. The big man had brought the second box of covers, as well as some sort of satchel. He gave the woman a piece of paper, and in return he received four more pieces of paper and some coins. Were the slips of paper of different value? But the glances he had got, they had looked more or less the same, the same size and shape and color... At least the coins had been of different sizes and colors, which would make denoting their value easier...
Before he could ponder it much further, he found the two boxes set in his arms. He took them a little awkwardly, and turned to follow Doktar Jeddy out of the building. He was still barefoot for now, but he seemed comfortable enough padding outside that way. But then they paused again and he was handed the satchel as well. The material it was made from was... odd, it didn't feel like plant fiber. But clearly it was a container to put the boxes in, and he moved to do that. As he put the second box in, he reluctantly pulled the sandals out of it first, and put them on his feet. It took him a moment to work out how the zipper on the bag worked, as well, but he managed.
"Vinxa, si siofme? Si filiik si geou rigluin nomenoi." He inclined his head to the big man in thanks, offering a smile up to him. He held the expression a moment, long enough for it to be read, then let it fall away with a sigh. "Si tir ti vucot svabol ekess tir jaka. Si filiik si jalla ehtah vin isepl? Zoti si tepoha thric ulk'igh... Ui batobot caesin tokeq ihk resting vi thurkear, si jika?" The words were soft and worried, and seemed to have the quality of musing to himself. He grimaced slightly, baring sharp looking teeth for a brief moment, then he shook his head and looked around taking in the strange carriages and the crystal structures and towers. That small copse of trees and grass was hardly a forest, but it was the only thing here even vaguely familiar to him.
"Svaklar jalla si gethrisj?" He sighed again and glanced up at Doktar Jeddy, looking a bit depressed.

Jedidiah:
he nodded in turn when ash smiled and nodded, saying something in gratitude from what it seemed like. . assume the best of people- never really does any harm to do. he then seem to talk to himself, before looking back to the doctor. . . seeming sadder then prior. . . he paused for a moment. . .before he glanced back towards ash. ". . perhaps we should go to the bookstore next? it is hardly fair to you for me to drag you about without addressing what you are saying. i apologize for that. " he replied. he offered a gentle smile, to try and reassure his lost friend. . .hoping to soon, be able to truly help the poor lad.

Doktar Jeddy's tone was reassuring, even if he couldn't understand what the man actually said. "Nomeno geou qe nirescho, geou coi ti Doktar Jeddy?" The smile he paired with the words was still a bit sad, but he shook his head and made a soft laughing noise. "Si filiik mobi ui ehis ekess tir shar enel vur wiilirk. Petranas gethrisj wer idol." He gestured, for the other to lead the way, hoping to indicate that he would follow. There wasn't much else he could do just now, he would simply have to trust that Doktar Jeddy knew what he was doing.

Jedidiah:
He watched as Ash continued to speak. . before lightly chuckling and gesturing for him to lead the way after saying something else. . he nodded before heading the way towards the book store. . .making sure to walk at a pace where he would not loose Ash, nor Ash would loose track of him- dispite the doctor being 10 feet tall. . .
He thought back to when he was purchasing the shoes and backpack for Ash. . . he missed an opportunity there to teach the guy about the currency, didn't he?. . . well then, he will just have to do so apon the next time while they are at the book store. . .
Apon reaching the bookstore, a few blocks from the shoe store, again, he had to crouch down to be able to fit through the door and hold it open for Ash. . .the store had books and books surrounding the entirety of the store, as well as rows filling the store with- surprisingly- more books. He waited for Ash to enter before he himself entered and let the door go. . and started to go right for the children's section. . . where books for children 1-8 were stowed away . . .he will need to grab some books for Ash. . . picture books to help with translations easier . . . they will have to figure out words such as verbs and adjectives . . . since those might be abit more of a pain in the rear. . . well, can't figure it out by giving up.

Ash followed Doktar Jeddy as the man lead him on a short walk to another structure. A different merchant? But through the crystal windows, he could see shelves and shelves of books. This piqued his interest, and he followed the Giant inside without any comment, immediately moving to examine some of the books near the door. It was disappointing to realize all of them were written in an unfamiliar script. Some had images on their covers, painted scenes of humans, animals, the colors bright and eye-catching - but inside it was just small closely packed script, unreadable to him.
A low whine rose in his throat, but he stifled it, moving on to look at others, look at different books. Maybe, somewhere, there would be one in a language he knew, something he could read and understand, something that would explain to him what this place was, why he was here. His search was futile - he did find other scripts, but they were still unfamiliar to him.

Jedidiah:
he hummed while he was picking out some children's books. . .children discovery books and what not. from food to animals, people- to abit more advance picture books that held stuff such as technology, the human body - well, he is a doctor, if ash is hurt, hes gotta know what is hurting the fellow- more foods and animals, trees, traffic. doing what he could to find such books to help ash learn what things are, as well as such so he can learn whatever language ash spoke. . . if they can both speak eachother's languages, it would help make things easier in communications. . he also then grabbed works of literature that whenever ash learned hao to speak and read, he can read through, perhaps with the help of those, adjectives and more verbs would be easier for ash to learn, such as Moby dick and what not, Dracula, Frankenstein's monster. . . . . along with not boring the guy with just picture books, hes not a child from what he could gather. granted, there are his own collection of medical books, thesis, research and what not. but some folk are normally put off with the jargon within those 'literature works'.
when he carefully lumbered back towards the cashier, he was carrying a rather ridiculous amount of books, children's books and other literature. . the cashier looked at the doctor with a funny look while he glanced around, looking to see where Ash had ran off to.

If he looked a bit, Jedidiah would fine Ash between two aisles stocked with photography and art books.
Ash sat on the floor, paging disconsolately through a book of fantasy artwork. Occasionally he stopped on pages with images of dragons, gently touching the glossy images printed on the paper. None of them looked like his largest form, but they were close, they were similar enough... These were only painted images, perhaps made after a human glimpsed one of his kind?
He was gently tracing a fingertip over an image of a golden dragon with oddly segmented leaf-like wings and an orangish fringe of sails for a mane when he realized Doktar Jeddy was looking for him. The painting - likely the cover of a fantasy novel - showed the dragon emerging from a cave over two purple-robed humans holding a tall staff while three... moons? suns? rose or set in the scenery behind them.
Ash looked up at Doktar Jeddy, then tapped the image lightly and asked: "Ui nomeno vi goawy? Tira creolna ocuir nomeno?" There was a desperate edge to his tone. He wanted badly to know if it was real, if it was something someone had scene and then painted...

Jedidiah:
he glanced over at Ash, who seemed to hurriedly rush over to him with a book in hand, pointing at an image of a dragon. . .oi vey. . at times he wished he understood what the lad was saying. . .he sounded desperate. . . perhaps he wanted the book. he pondered abit. . .well, when he first met the guy, he was taller and scaly. . .was he asking about the picture itself? . . .he lowered the smaller pile of books in one hand before patting the top. " here. . if you want the book, add it to the pile. " he replied with a gentle smile. before attempting to point at the book, and again, gesturing for Ash to add the book to the pile.

Ash's brows furrowed as he uncertainly watched Doktar Jeddy's reply. How could he make the man understand his question? Perhaps later, when he had more time to think, he could figure out a way... He glanced from the man to the book, frowning just slightly, then he closed the book and did as the other gestured for him to, setting it on top of the others that Doktar Jeddy had already gathered.
"Coi ui wer ergriff youwe si ehtaha... Si shilta ti urcaxa tikil di nomeno..." His words came out a mumble as he traced his fingers over the book's cover, looking somewhat upset. After a moment he put his hands to his face, covering it, then rubbing back and up with a sigh, a frustrated but resigned sort of gesture.

Jedidiah:
he watched as ash responded to him. . . he grimaced at the response- not that he expected a excited response since there was no chance of him truly understanding what was being said to him. . nor could he understand. he gave a saddened smile at the lad, as he set the book on the pile and rubbed his face in frustration. . . he glanced over at the photograph books and pondered for a bit, before deciding that could be for another date. . and headed towards the cashier. . she seemed to grimace at the massing pile before she began to ring them up. . .Jedidiah seemed abit more pleased after seeing a sign behind her, not realizing it on the way in 'everything 50% off, for today only!' . . ..perhaps they are making way for more books. . .
he watched as the cashier went and pulled a few boxes out before loading the books in as she scanned them. . he pondered for a moment. . this is an opportunity to show ash the exchange of currency this time?
