zavijah:
Twas a rainy cold day, although not dark, the mists loomed heavily among the mountains. There were no thunderstorms to speak of, just heavy rain that only began to lighten up into nothing more then a casual to weaker pour. The swordsman for once had two cloaks on; a dear cloak that had antlers with carvings along them, while she had a large bear cloak draped over the dear cloak. the Antlers almost like a Bridle to the bear cloak's head in appearance- or similar to tusks to a boar.
The bear cloak was drenched, dripping while she tread along the mud towards the homestead of her ally, Sara Summers; the Trilogolic shifter, the Scientist. She had brought some samples of more alchemical ingredients for table alchemy- the only one of the two forms of alchemy she was willing to show- safer, less likely to do death or worse to the overly curious shifter.
Along with the ingredient, she had a jade box, carefully hidden under the cloaks on her person, in a pouch strapped onto her butt purse. carvings decorated and line the box, but its form could not be hidden with the pouch. when she reached the homestead, she leaped and pattered her feet within a clean puddle of water before walking towards the front door and knocked apon it.
"Sara? are you home? tis me, zavijah. . " she called.

[OOC - Bruse will be a casual in this one. I'll post these OOC's to signify when he's just chilling and can be skipped in turn order. Right now, he's mostly chilling, so I'll wait and see what happens ^^)
Bruse lingered in the treeline, previously lost in his thoughts and energy of the storm at least until he noticed a small figure approaching Sara's home. He stood, peering out over the property as Zavijah made her way to the door before drifting slowly through the rainy gray air. He circled around the back of the house and passed through the walls opposite of where Zavijah was before settling down in the living room to watch the door.
His mind was still clouded, but otherwise calm and stable. Only twice that day had the memories been bad, filtering through unwarranted and without warning as of late. His form was still covered in hairline fractures, stubbornly refusing to repair on their own. He knew not why, and when the memories got back, they would always glow like tiny bolts of lightning standing out against the dark of his outer form. Now however, his eyes flickered slowly, lulled by the weather and the fractures along his shape remained dim and under control.

It was strange sometimes, being in the house but knowing she no longer lived there. Not that Sara minded, but her current situation was so different and so new that the concept had taken some getting used to. She'd not lived with anyone before (family excluded), but didn't regret moving in with Aaron in the slightest; their relationship seemed to have taken another step, one that was a little scary, but a lot exciting. She became a little giddy even thinking about it.
But, the shifter hadn't let go of her old home. Bruse lived here, for starters. It was a space he could call his own, that was safe and still connected to her. She felt happy having him here. Not only that, the space was good for potentially housing other supers who needed a place to crash for a while, or having friends over for some of the more 'exciting' ventures that Sara wasn't sure her partner would want in the house.
He still hadn't forgiven her for the flour incident.
With a glance out the window in the direction she felt her Bond pull, Sara found herself wondering whether Bruse was alright. He was still recovering, she knew, but the shifter worried about him sometimes.
A knock at the door, the call of a familiar voice, broke the shifter from her thoughts. She practically bounced to the threshold, swung the door wide and gave her friend a beaming grin. "Zavi! Y'alreet luv? Come on in, I'll put the kettle on, like." The small woman's visits were always something interesting. Whether it was a chat about her customs, the fauna she knew that Sara had never heard of, explaining the way of the modern world to Zavijah, or simply a baking session, Sara enjoyed their time together.

zavijah:
she glanced up when she heard Sara rush over and swing the door open excitedly. "Zavi! Y'alreet luv? Come on in, I'll put the kettle on, like." the shifter gleamed. she happily nodded " I am well. hao do you fare? " she asked before stepping into the house. When she saw bruse she nodded at him, seeing he was merely reclined as he watched the encounter unfold. " I've brought more herbs to show you, would you be interested?" she asked.
Seeing it was wet, she pondered abit before removing the cloaks she had on, this caused the flap of her pouch strapped apon her butt purse on the front side of her hip to shift open abit since twas her movements that affected the item rather then unwanted hands messing with the items or the bag itself in question; causing the jade box's side to become revealed by the 'ceiling light', its gleam a sharp contrast against the dull and worn leather of the pouch. all the while, she folded the cloaks together before setting them in a corner next to the door out of the way. . .
It was rather strange being here without her library of books disheveled across her homestead, though a step forth within her life that she perhaps needed to take. A new chapter in the shifter's life.

At the mention of more herbs, Sara's face lit up with unconcealed interest and excitement. Not that she'd ever been particularly good at hiding such things, but she certainly was making no attempt to deny it now. "Cor blimey, that'd be proper mint, like!" She exclaimed, tail already starting to sway back and forth in a familiar wagging motion. But, realising Zavijah might not understand her slang, she amended with. "And by that I mean, like, I would luv tah 'ave a look pet." A smile, before she gestured to the smaller woman's cloaks. "Divvint 'ave tah set 'em on the floor, like, give us it 'ere." Once Zavi handed over the cloaks, Sara set about hanging them up in a nearby cupboard, after all, the items would dry a lot faster this way than all bundled up together where the moisture would be trapped.
Task complete, the shifter ushered her friend into the kitchen, which had always been the tidiest space in the house. There was plenty of space for Zavijah to show off the herbs. Plus, Sara still needed to start making that tea.
On her way through, she stopped by Bruse's relaxation spot, brushing a hand gently along where his side would be, if she could touch him. Even though she touched nothing, there was still a warmth that travelled through her from the Bond, a warmth that made her smile.
"Reet Zavijah, what kinda tea would ya like? Got English Breakfast, green, fruit teas, pretty much anythin' ya like?" Sure enough, when Sara reached up into one of the kitchen cupboards, it's contents consisted of near every type of tea one could imagine. Even though she no longer lived in the house, the shifter made sure to keep it well stocked, one could never be too sure when guests in the building may want a good brew. "Feel free tah lay owt whatever ya need on the side there, like." She pointed to the breakfast bar in the centre of the kitchen, which was a nice, flat, clear space. "Can 'ave a gander at ya 'erbs once we 'ave a fresh cuppa, sound alreet with you?"

[Smol Bruse action, then back to lounging]
Bruse shifted as the two mortals exchanged words, waking slightly at Sara's excitement more than anything. He peered at them contentedly and perked a bit as Sara approached. Although he did not stand, he did reach his mind to her and brushed against her conscious through the Bond. Her petting motion, although perhaps not felt by him physically, did send a small swirl of spiritual comfort through him. For Sara, she also may not have felt anything physically aside from an odd warmth and slight 'pressure' of sorts where her hand passed through his form.
As they made their way into the kitchen, Bruse gave a thrumming sigh. He shifted where he lay, eyes closing once more into a meditative state before peeking open again towards the cupboard. Whether by simple boredom, or perhaps mild curiosity, he stared. Then, silently, he stood and drifted to the cupboard. Inside, the cloaks were hung neatly with other garments. Bruse pawed absently at the material, marveling at how mortals were able to wear the skins of other mortals, but then perhaps they were not so different from him. If it weren't for his own meals, he would have no outer shell to protect his core.
Then, as if the thought brought on a reminder of his current state, the room flickered suddenly with rampant memories. Bruse's form crackled with fault lines, and Bruse simply groaned quietly to himself before returning to his resting spot. He kept the kitchen in line of sight before closing his eyes once again in partial meditation. Inside, his core seemed to tremor and then calm as he managed to get his visions back under control.

zavijah:
"Divvint 'ave tah set 'em on the floor, like, give us it 'ere."
She glanced over before hesitantly giving the cloaks to the shifter. . . perhaps a bad place to set them? before she noticed how the shifter laid them out. . . . ah. . perhaps she meant to try and dry out the cloaks from the rainwater.
But at the earlier 'cor blimey' response and clarification, she nodded. She reached into her butt purse and pulled out a bundle wrapped in a cloth- at the moment looked merely like a linen sleeping pelt, but was more or less how she stowed the bundles of herbs in her butt purse to keep them from becoming too wet and dirty from the travel to her ally's old homestead.
She followed the shifter/ was lead by her into the kitchen and placed the bundle onto the counter with the gleam of the little jade box still peering through the haphazardly opened pouch flap, all the while Sara listed off the types of tea that she could brew for the both of them. . . well, she's found she has so far liked all of them. Which reminds her. "hmm. . . perhaps 'English Breakfast'? such could be a good choice." though, any of the teas could be a good choice- she both regretted and was happy when on a day she was unusually tired she simply answered 'yes' at the offer of the list of teas. . .
Poor Sara. . .
"though. . . " she paused in thought "one of these herbs, we could use within a tea's brew as a tea itself, if you are interested? " she offered. She carefully unraveled the roll to reveal about 12 bundles of different herbs, some look like something you would find in the earth, while others looked very. . . odd. . . to say the least, one of which she gestured towards.
it looked similar to a strange mixture of wheat, lavender, thai basil flowers with blue and deep purple hues and small spots of yellow within each. " using this tongue it would be considered a 'long grass tea' . . .Its flavor is similar to that of a true flower tea." she explained. She was never one who would try and deter choice with 'this is nice, but let's have this' sort of tactic. The suggestion was more or less there because it merely informed the shifter of the potential if she was interested. " perhaps after the first batch? " she asked. She did not want to overwhelm the poor shifter either. . .

At the mention of herbs being used as tea, Sara about-faced from where she had been pulling English Breakfast out of the cupboard, her mouth forming a circular shape as she let out a long, interested 'ooo' sound. New types of tea were always something she wished to partake in. "Sounds like a reet crackin' idea Zavi, luv. It'd be me pleasure tah try what ya brought, like!" With the tip of her tail twitching from excitement, Sara busied herself with setting up water to boil, but just as she turned her head and looked as though she might be about to say something else to her guest, the shifter's attention caught.
She stared at the doorway leading through to the rest of the house, a trace of concern furrowing her brow. Through the Bond, she had felt Bruse's momentary lapse of memories and wished to do something to help him, even if she didn't know quite what. A gentle, steadying presence filtered through to him, but past that, she didn't really know what else to do. He worried her, sometimes.
But it seemed her ghostly companion had managed to overcome his lapse and, since she could feel he had settled, decided not to disturb him any further. Instead, Sara turned her attention back to Zavijah, all bubbling enthusiasm once again. "Reet then, Zavi luv, 'ow do we brew these 'erbs, like? Could ya show us, divvint want tah git it wrong, like, if there's a proper way tah do it ya know?"

zavijah:
She nodded before plucking out a third of a bundle of herbs that looked similar to wheat? but they had a dark blue hue, almost from a purple stem fading into the indigo hue. Again, similar to that of lavender, thai basil or wheat in appearance.
When Sara asked what was needed to be done, she merely smiled. " we will need to add salt to the pot as it boils. perhaps a hand's worth of salt since that would be the amount needed to neutralize the toxins of the flower. On its own, these are not wise to use as a mere drink unless you are able to add salt or live by the ocean. after the salt dissolves into the water, any more additional salt added would sweeten the tea from the reaction with the herb." she paused abit in thought before continuing.
". . Although the toxins are not lethal to humans or otherwise. . . .They do cause those who drink it ill-prepared to purge their stomachs. . . .more or less better to drink should you had eaten something far worse than it to purge. " she explained.
"The tea itself is not very common because of this, the herb itself is referred to as the maritime bloom. The tea itself is unnamed." she continued.

Sara’s eyes glittered with clear fascination as Zavijah explained about the tea, her expression maintaining a level of quiet intensity that was reserved for learning. She catalogued each piece of information, filed it away in her mind as though it were as important as any scientific research. So it could be used to induce vomiting, handy for certain situations, but with the application of simple salt, could be made into a normal tea? Fascinating.
“Alreet, sounds crackin’!” The shifter said as she wandered over to a kitchen cabinet, opened it and reached inside. A number of pots, ground herbs and spices were visible. “I certainly ‘ave salt, like.” As she said this, Sara withdrew a pot of sea salt and a large container of table salt, since she didn’t know which one would be better for their purposes and on her way back to her companion, grabbed a second teapot (since she had a great many) to brew the herbs in their own pot.
The water had now boiled, so after placing the two salt containers in front of Zavijah, she decanted a portion of hot water into the second teapot, before placing it in front of her friend. “Reet, think we’re all set, unless ya need anythin’ else, like?”

zavijah:
She watched as Sara retrieved containers of salt, as well as another pot? before pouring some of the boiling water into the second pot and setting it in front of her.
Ooooh, perhaps it was so they could have either the 'English Breakfast' or the nameless tea she offered. She nodded "We are prepared. Nao, if you wish to sweeten the tea, do not use honey or 'sugar'. You would need to use more salt, as odd as this may seem. " she replied. she glanced between the containers of salt before grabbing the sea salt. From her experience, Sea salt or saltwater from the ocean was comparable to the use of honey in other teas from how the herb reacted to it. She removed the lid and poured about a hand full of sea salt into her own hand before adding it into the pot Sara had placed in front of her. She placed it back on the heat to bring the water back to a boil seeing that the salt raised the boiling point before removing the pot and grabbing the herbs.
"Alright, Sara, I would like for you to come and watch this. " she stated, gesturing for her to come and watch. She took the maritime blooms that she had separated for the tea from the rest of the bundle before placing them within the pot stem first, swirling the water with the herbs before releasing them- leaving the lid off for the shifter to see the reaction.
At first, the dried herbs just spun around like as if someone had just threw sticks or reeds into the water. Soon, like dried noodles fresh from a box of noodles from the store, they slowly become limp and flowing with the swirl of the water. When the first of the head of the herbs - the seed like bumps at the top of the stems - this was when it became more apparent as to why the herb was called 'maritime bloom'; for each time one of the bumps became submerged into the water, it began to open and unfold to reveal a rather unique flower-like structure. an aray of blues and purples expanding from the small yellow speck in the middle of each flower- the structures of the actual flowers being similar to small Fuchsia flowers.
Eventually, the Small bundle of Maritime Blooms gently swirled in the still bubbling water as it lowered to a simmer as if it was an Underwater bed arrangement of flowers.
All the while, the water changed into a gentle lilac tinted, light-brown hue. She then glanced up to the shifter. " The tea is ready if you would like to taste it. " she stated, smiling all the while.

At first, Sara watched the tea making process with clear, respectful interest. Nothing seemed too difficult or different yet, it was as though she were adding any other flavouring to water. Still, she noted the quantities of salt, nodded and made small sounds of understanding where sweetening the tea was concerned and in general was a polite, avid learner.
But then the flowers had bloomed and Sara's mouth opened in a loud, excited gasp, her eyes wide. "Blinkin' 'eck..." She breathed, leaning closer to get a good look at those small, beautiful flowers. Vivid pools of green tracked the blooms as they swirled and danced through the water, the shifter's gaze transfixed on what she could see before her. Her tail tip twitched, not dissimilar to a focused cat. "Zavi, luv, they're beautiful..."
"The tea is ready if you would like to taste it."
The ginger-haired woman snapped her attention away from the tea and its floral display to grin at Zavijah, sounding her approval with an excited, "Ha'way man!" The shifter hurried over to where she stored her tea cups, withdrawing a pair made of bone china, decorated with delicate bluebells and cascading leaves of green. On her way back she trilled cheerily, "Let me pour for ya Zavi, luv, an' really, thank you for this. Always a treat tah try new things, like!" Without further ado, Sara poured a good helping of tea into both cups, offering one to her companion for her to take. Happiness lit up her features, an expression further heightened when she took a sip of the tea and her eyebrows rose into her fringe. "Mmm!" A sound of approval, followed by, "That's proper mint, like, crackin' flavour!" With another, longer sip this time, Sara regarded the smaller woman, her eyes again shimmering with curiosity. "Eeee, so, if ya divvint mind me askin', like, where'd ya learn abowt all these 'erbs? Ya always seem tah 'ave such interestin' ones, like."

zavijah:
To her, it was rather refreshing to watch the reaction of the shifter to the herbs. She quietly mused and smiled as she could not help but do so, even as the shifter zipped away excitedly to gather two cups for the two of them. The interest in the things others she has seen in the past noted as strange or not worthy of note. She found interactions like this were nice, peaceful, even- dare she admit such.
"Let me pour for a Zavi, luv, an' really, thank you for this. Always a treat tah try new things, like!" the shifter exclaimed.
zavijah nodded " I'm happy to be able to reveal such to you, even more so that you enjoy what I've brought so far. " she replied.
She accepted the cup, studying the delicate decoration of the cup before glancing up as Sara made a sound of approval, exclaiming words of approval after the sound she made prior. " I'm glad you like the tea. I have the seeds of the herb on me if you would like to grow some for personal use or study. " she offered, taking a sip of the tea within her own cup.
"Eeee, so, if ya divvint mind me askin', like, where'd ya learn abowt all these 'erbs? Ya always seem tah 'ave such interestin' ones, like." Sara asked.
The swordsman paused abit before holding the cup gingerly with both hands in front of herself, where the cup was next to the pouch on her side.
"I do not mind." she smiled.
"Most of them I learned through the markets and travel over the years. I find that those of particular specialty tend to figure out more uses of what herb, spice or mineral they come across than those who pay them." she then lifted the teacup abit before lowering it as if to gesture to it or the contents of the small vessel. " This tea for example, as uncommon as it was, the herb was widely used among those who sailed across the ocean as a means to make the water safe to drink during long travel." she explained. "They typically stowed it away within the rice, seeing that the rice would absorb moisture from potentially ruining the herb. " she continued. "It commonly grew along the shorelines of sand black, white, or gold beaches respectively. where ever there might be seawater. "
"with that being said, it was considered a Taboo or an Omen for sailors to run over patches of the maritime bloom when ships crossed the Desert-Ocean border. " Though the thought of it that amused her was when she came across such a time during the herbs blooms when she has happened across groups of sailors whom armed with shovels either moved patches of meadows out of the way of the ships or just plucking them. . .if not frolicking about in the fields of blue next to the ocean like children. The first two points, she understood- it made sense. the third one she mused at seeing how they normally presented themselves in the guise of the public eye- everyone has their moments, though she wouldn't announce such to the world considering the dangers they had to face.
Besides, hunting and fishing alongside the sailors was enjoyable to her.

As Zavijah explained, green eyes glittering with a childlike wonder regarded her. Already Sara was imagining what kinds of places her friend might have seen in her travels. The people she might have met. Sights and events she had witnessed, or been a part of. Though the shifter hadn't travelled much outside the Wathais area now that she had settled here, a thrumming thrill lit up in her chest at the idea of exploration.
She was her dad's daughter, she supposed, struck by a soft wave of sadness.
Yet, when she responded to her companion, the shifter was all smiles and enthusiasm, belying none of the melancholy she had just experienced. "Sounds reet proper crackin', like, learnin' as ya travel. Bet a sea of maritime bloom is reet gorgeous tah witness." She indicated the teapot where they had brewed the herb. "Based on 'ow pretty they were in there, like. But tell us, what's the most beautiful thing ya've seen luv? I'm reet fascinated by it all. Always fancied travellin' a bit more meself, like, but 'aven't got round to it, bar some adventures in one of me animal forms, ya know? An' I 'aven't gan too far like that." The shifter smiled warmly over the rim of her cup, as she brought it to her lips. "So I'll 'ave tah live vicariously through you for the minute pet."

zavijah:
"Indeed. . . Sometimes it was a myriad of color to witness" she nodded, though when Sara asked her question, explaining her yearning to travel yet the inability to do so. . She glanced down to the cup in hand. . . .
"I see. . ." she replied thoughtfully, she drag a finger back n forth along a small portion of the lip of the cup within her hands in thought. " The most beautiful thing I've seen in my travels. A difficult question to answer for there has been many. . . .perhaps land-wise at least. . .It would have to be the after my climb onto the summit of the Argroas Mountain. " she replied, glancing up to the curious shifter
"It took me perhaps a month of travel up the mountain. . .the air was thin, the ice collected in my hair and on my skin, darkness was nearly absolute, and there was many times I've had to rechain myself to the pathway. " she regaled as she pondered on the near-death experiences alone from the climb.
"Though when I finally reached the summit. . .You could see forever into the horizon. the sea of stars adorned with the tails of the aroura lights to the sky while the land below held onto the clear waters below. Life swelled from everywhere you looked. Kingdoms of many lands were laid out for all to see. you could even see where the lands change. . .Forests, tundras, deserts. even the Desert-Ocean border was clear in the far distance. even the forest of color beneath the waves was clear as day apon that day. " she paused for abit before she sighed.
"For what dangers that lurk, so long as you are cautious and prepared for the trials of travel, very little would hinder you from beauty to behold. Reguardless of where you go."
She pondered abit in thought before she spoke up again in question. " . . . .if I may ask of such, but hao does your ability work? The texts of old never described the speed or abilities of a Trilogolic shifter- nor have I've seen other shift as quickly as you."
