Twilly's laughter pitched, hitched, and then hiccuped to a stop. The sound of the wrapper had her full attention, and as she peered down at what the giant was holding, her eyes nearly doubled in size, wide and suddenly very interested.
She'd seen these things before, a group of campers had left one out after leaving for a hike, and Twilly had made quick work of it. It had been wonderful! She could remember the sweet, glazed fruit and nuts, how they crunched in her teeth and stuck to her mouth with glistening decedance. The hummingbird's flight was a quiet hover, idling for a moment as it's gaze was transfixed on the prize. Then, without another moment's hesitation, she dove.
Jedidiah would notice a great many things in one fraction of second if he were paying close attention. One was the very un-bird-like squee that escaped Twilly as she dove, followed by the soft body of feathers striking his hand that held the granola, and finally a set of small, grasping claws that scrabbled and clung to his hand and fingers. The bird was not a bird at all, but a person. An incredibly small humanoid with buzzing hummingbird wings flitting a mile a minute against her back and tufts of emerald green feathers decorating her chest, hips, ankles, and arms as she crawled and scrambled to the granola bar in his grasp. Her hair was a wild tussle of shimmering green as well, short and pixie-like in appearance. Her feet were extremely well gripped for something so small, and she easily clung to him while grasping at the bar, all nomming mouth and gnashing little teeth that nibbled and chewed at the corner of the bar. It was nearly as big as she was, but that didn't seem to stop her.

Jedidiah: he quietly watched at first casually before his eyes widened in amazement. . " oh, hey, your a fairy? cool. " he remarked with a level of mesmerized in awe a child who discovered a cool thing would, before he chuckled abit. " no wonder you were abit mad at me. . I honestly thought you were a bird. . . . Im sorry about that. . . . so what is your name? " he asked. he took note of the wide gremlin like grin. . the long needle like fingers, the moth like tuffs of fur? the wings like a humming bird. before contemplating how he mistake her for a humming bird. . . perhaps it was the sound of the wing-beats from her flying. . or the tiny squeakiness of its voice. perhaps it was the color and size? compared to him, she was hardly the same height as his ear. . . never the less, the previous plan of scratching her belly or her back gently were gone. . .seeing she was not a bird at all. . .

Twilly continued to bite and clamber over the granola bar in Jedidiah's hand, barely listening to his exclamations of wonderment and apologies. It wasn't until he asked her name that she finally paused, almost disturbingly still as compared to her previous flurry of movement to gaze up at him with wide green eyes and toothy smile. She regarded him as a mischevious child might regard a target adult, then chirped a quick "Twilly!" up at him. "Twilly, Big Man! Big Man, Twilly!" She then chattered a hastened mock introduction. She had even grabbed his thumb and made 'hand shaking' motions, overexaggerated and playfully sarcastic.
When what Twilly considered to be 'formal introduction' was over, she turned her attention back to the granola bar. If she had been angry at the giant before now, she showed no sign of it at that moment. Her entire body seemed to vibrate with excitement over the treat as she pulled one honey coated seed or peanut loose, gobbled it, then made a grab for the next. A cranberry was bitten clean in half with little effort while a yogurt chip then followed close behind. For such a small creature, she certainly was making quick work of the granola bar.

Jedidiah:
he nodded as she shook his thumb like a hand. "Nice to meet you, Twilly. My name is Jedidiah, I'm a doctor. " he replied. he glanced around before carefully moving towards a downed tree log and sitting on it, being careful not to jostle the little Fae. . . wow, she is tiny. . . probably barely as tall as his ear. . . "so how long have you lived here, Twilly? " he asked.
he was quietly impressed with how quickly she was inhaling the granola bar, making quick work of every little component of it. granted, it wasn't something special at home, everyone had a large appetite except dad. . . .though it has been years since hes seen them or has seen someone else eat alot of food in one sitting. . .

When the giant moved to seat himself on a nearby log, the only interruption heard from the fairy was a small, irritated warble before she dug back into the wrapper of the granola bar. Her feet gripped at the man's hand and sides of his fingers as she moved, feeling almost like a bird or a large insect.
For a moment, the front half of her body disappeared into the wrapper, arms digging about to pry off another peanut or almond. When she'd effectively separated her prize, she pulled back out again and stared up athe man with emerald green eyes.
"Been here? Been there! Big Man been here long? Bet Twilly has been here longer! Forever! Or never..." She rambled, a mischevious smile spreading across her face. Although, deep down, she'd already lost track of how long she'd actually been in this particular part of the world. Her home in the rainforest and jungle were long behind her, although not entirely forgotten. She pulled the sweetened almond half to her face and shoved nearly all of it into her mouth in an impressive bite, although her eyes never left the giant. With her mouth full, she smiled again and began to talk to him through muffled chewing. "MRF BIRF MERN? Berf clermf eh trerrs." Rough translation of course, 'Mister big man? Been climbing the trees?"

Jedidiah:
"aah, I understand. " he replied. . . she has no idea how long she has been here for. . . eh, probably has no idea what was the common notion of time, or just works off a different system of measuring time . . . he assumes the latter. . . just because he doesn't understand what they do, doesn't mean that they do not have a means to creating their own system that works just as well. . . .before she inhaled an almond . .talking at him a question? with a full mouth. . . .though he has a little bit of a guesstimate as to what the little fae might of asked.
"aah. . . more or less I just wanted to see the area I'm in from higher off the ground. . . though too be fair, its been since I was a teenager since I last climbed a tree. " he replied. "I've been mapping out the area more or less so I can create a bit of a more accurate map around my home and the clinic. " he explained.

Twilly sat contentedly, polishing off the last few bites of granola before she settled back in a sort of squated seated position. At the mentione of "home" and "clinic", Twilly smiled, a sparkle lighting in her eye.
"Ah! Would love to see this home! Better than breaking trees! Poor trees....should be ashamed!" She bantered, frowning in disapproval at the last bit. "Young and stupid, yes! Very young and stupid!" She stood, perched on Jedidiah's finger and stretched. Her hands dropped then with a satisfactory rub of her tummy before her wings hummed to life and lifted her back into the air. The granola bar was, for the most part, finished. A marvel at how easily she was able to fit all that food into such a small frame.
Twilly zipped forward inches from the man's face, licking sweet sugar and candiied granola syrup from her hands and fingers before looking Jedidiah in the eyes. "take me there!" Her smile broadened, showing plenty of teeth and narrowing her emerald eyes to mere, mischevious squints. After all, if this man wanted to come through her forest, she wanted to go through his 'clinic'....

Jedidiah:
"well, To be fair, I did not mean to break the trees, I was scared out of them. " he replied, sheepishly. "Young and stupid, yes! Very young and stupid!" she belabored. Well, the trees might have been fine if he was not scared out of them. . . .probably would of been able to make it down without breaking them . . . .this fairy seems pretty mean. . . . hopefully, she's just upset about the trees and not actually mean spirited.
"Alright, alright, I'll take you to where I live. " he chuckled. " I just need to get up. " he stated as he started to stand up. "take me there!" she squeaked, again he jolted abit from the fea suddenly being in his face and he lost his footing, managed to verbalize a 'woaa' before tumbling down the side of the sharp hill like a boulder angrily cascading down the mountain. When he finally stopped rolling, he sat dazed and winded from the sudden tumble down the side of the mountain. not realizing a large tree had fallen in the result of his body slamming into it when he finally stopped rolling- but hey, hes now on his back and not his butt~
he was going to feel that and regret it in the morning when he wakes up.

"Alright, alright, I'll take you to where I live. I just need to get up. " The giant chuckled, and Twilly was actually shocked for a moment at how easily he had complied. Her grin spread impossibly larger and she made a small, celebratory twirl in the air where she hovered. However, she hadn't quite anticipated how easily the giant would startle as well to her invasive face-flutterings until she heard him give a surprised 'Woaa' and then fall backwards over and down a steep hill.
Twilly gasped, stopped her twirl and watched with humored amusement as the giant crashed and tumbled the entire way to the bottom of the incline. It was a far way down, and she eventually had to break from her own staring to speed after him, zigzagging through the trees and underbrush as she tracked his progress. When he finally came to a stop, Twilly slowed her own speed and hovered just over him, tsch-tsching down at him.
"Now you've wrecked more trees! Clumsy thing you are!" She scolded, her smile taking on more of a grimace. It didn't take long, however for the smile to recover, and she lowered herself to about an inch above his shoulder. "Are you hurt? Serves you right! But Twilly can fix! The we can go to your home, lickity split!" She chirruped, continuing where she left off with her twirling, dancing motions as if the entire tumble down the mountain hadn't just happened.

Jedidiah:
He groaned in pain before eventually pushing himself up, and grabbing his head. "I'm Sorry, You caught me by surprise when you flew in too close. " he replied sheepishly. Whelp, the fairy is apparently angry at him for falling and 'wrecking the trees' before he had half a mind to glance uphill to gain a view of what had just occurred. from what he could tell, at least 2 trees were downed by him. . "I'm alright. . here, let me see if I can up this trees. Maybe It might be able to stay alive long enough for me to come back and reinforce it? " he offered sheepishly. He wasn't a tree specialist but he can definitely do bones. In some ways, it was fairly similar to a bone, perhaps he could fix it with a similar method? He would just need to fit it back like a puzzle piece.
So he moved to pick the tree up in a great heave of strength. . .well. . . would of been grand if he was half the size he is now- if anything it was more like him picking up an awkward pole then a tree. . . maybe like picking up a tree? he can get his arms around the trunk, he finds.

"I'm Sorry, You caught me by surprise when you flew in too close." The giant said sheepishly.
"You afraid of little ole me?" Twilly trilled teasingly. She smiled and twirled again in the air.
"I'm alright. . here, let me see if I can up this trees. Maybe It might be able to stay alive long enough for me to come back and reinforce it?" The giant then offered before standing and hoisting the fallen tree back into an upright position. Twilly's smile faded for just a moment and was replaced by a childish expression of awe. She'd been irritated before, especially with how clumsy this individual was, but she'd NEVER seen a humanoid actually put in the effort to FIX what they'd destroyed. This brought an odd, almost uncharacteristic calm over the excitable fairy and she stilled, hovering with arms crossed over her fluffy chest.
"Ok, Big Man." She said, wings humming at her back. "That is good! That is very good! Not so bad as Twilly thought!" She praised, her tone genuine. She still wanted to see this man's home, but this simple act of kindness did wonders in dulling the edge of her prank-ish mood.

Jedidiah:
He tried to fit the tree to the fresh stump as best as he could, being careful not to break it further than he did landing on it. . . or trap himself between the two parts.
for a moment it seemed to stick before it started to lean . . . so he carefully directed it to where it leaned on another tree for support. . . he will definitely need to come back to reinforce it later. He looked around the area to gain a general idea of the location before glancing at Twilly. "Well, I try to be good. This tree was probably someone or something's home. I hope no one was there when I landed or got hurt. but I still will need to come back to reinforce it. I leaned it against this tree so hopefully, it will stay put for the time being? " he replied.
"Though. . now, there's more of a reason to head home. Aaaaah, home is that way. " he stated, glancing around before noticing a familiar point uphill. Thank God he got his father's sense of direction rather than his mom. . . the two are almost extreme polar opposites from each other concerning that. "
He then started to head in the general direction, not having anything to really tie the tree down, glancing over at Twilly to see if she was following him. . .
Hopefully, he doesn't take any more trees down.

The moment the Big Man assigned a direction to their journey, Twilly let out a bright string of laughter and zipped off through the trees. Her excitement was brimming, and thoughts of all the different homes this man could own swam across her imagination. His house must be huge! Lots of light, lots of fun things! And the food! She could only imagine the glorious meals this new acquaintance might partake in. Maybe even the food was big? The biggest pot of honey she'd ever seen danced across her thoughts and she flew even faster. Jedidiah, meanwhile, might think that the fairy had left him in her dust. He would be right, but it wouldn't be long before she flew back into sight, waving and ushering him on in her excitement.
"Come! Faster! Let's go!" She squee'd, still laughing and cheery, any and all anger that might've been left over from the fallen tree incident now forgotten and forgiven.

Jedidiah:
He blinked before seeing Twilly flurry away in a flash . . . . . oh shet, she was fast! He'd lost track of the little one. He sighed before starting to head towards where home was.
When Twilly suddenly zipped back into view, squeeing with glee, he almost flinched before he chuckled. "Alright, alright, I'm coming. " he replied. He picked up the pace, trying not to keep his new little friend waiting. . . for a while, he could almost forget the constant pain from his phantom limbs- his brain still trying to find the missing limbs he had lost perhaps 5 years ago now? . . . the dull numbness he feels in his stumps when he uses his prosthetics, being able to sense pressure thanks to his own design, but not temperature. . . .
But alas, climbing a steep hill can drag you back to reality pretty quick. . . . though he did his best to keep up with his excitable new friend. . . "So, would you like anything in particular to eat when we get there?" he asked.

Twilly cartwheeled and barrel-rolled through the air around the surrounding trees as she eagerly ushered the giant along. He was so slow! Soooo slow! She thought to herself if any creature she'd encountered could've been as slow as he, but she couldn't think of one in her own hurried impatience. The truth was, she'd known slower, but waiting and excitement always made everything painfully slow in the moment. She rounded another tree and rocketed towards the giant as he lumbered up a hill. His face seemed to speak of some discomfort.
Ah-ha! Twilly stopped, smiled and then shot forward towards the giant.
"So, would you like anything in particular to eat when we get there?" He asked her, as he worked his way up the hill. Twilly collided with one of the giant's legs, sticking like a dart in a dartboard and dug small claws into his pants and skin. The feeling wouldn't be painful, but more like the tiny claws of a bug as it latches on. Twilly focused quickly on the giant's body, finding the source of his discomfort and channeling healing energy into his flesh. There was no damage that she could detect, only phantoms of some past injury spurred more than likely by his fall or his trek up the hill, but her healing magic worked like a charm on the pain. The relief would be temporary of course without any true injury to heal, but it would be enough to help the giant in that moment of labor up the hill. He would feel the pain lift like a heavy blanket, leaving only a cool and invigorating feeling in its wake.
"Honey! All honey!" Twilly squee'd, smiling up now at the giant as she kicked off from his leg to hover at chest height in front of him. "Now enough grumbling, let's go!" Twilly did a small twirl before fluttering back along their path, waving both arms up as she went.
