Ihuicatl
The man was making tea, it was an average late afternoon. The pot hissed as steamed billowed out of it and he carefully poured in the hot water into a cup only for it to take seconds before he removed the tea bag and shove it into a bin for composting run by the apartment complex. It had been a few hours since Tobi left to take care of something, he wasn't sure with what but it wasn't really his job to snoop into her life and know everything she ever did. People are entitled to their secrecy. He hummed a bit as he waited for the water to cool and paced a bit around the small kitchen where he could look out to the city beyond. The colours began to shift from a bright yellows, and finally to a golden orange of golden hour. He finally took sip and watched as the familiar sounds of people wandering down the halls back from work slowly crept back into his ears. It wasn't that he was prying but that it became routine to listen to the sounds around him.
He was bringing the mug back up to his lips when...

Tobi and Woes
"Nada"
Tobi had been spending the evening at Tenor's place when the two decided on an afternoon nap together. How many hours must have went by? Who knows. Tobi's eyes blurry with sleep awoke to 7 missed calls with another happening as she held her bright cellular device. Huh? Why was Woes of all people calling her? She gave the green icon a push.
"Want to explain why I have 7 missed calls from you? What could be--" she didn't get to finish.
"I NEED YOUR HELP ASAP! WHERE ARE YOU?!"
Woes didn't waste time getting to Tenor's place, he already knew where it was. He hurriedly brought in Lunia, someone Tobi had met before, hanging her over his shoulder. It was during this time Tobi's own panic began to set in as the ruckus didn't stir Tenor one bit. Almost as though the two were both in a coma-like state. The two conscious individuals had not a clue what to do, honestly. But there was someone who might know.
The duo slammed the door open at Hui's apartment once they rushed over there. Tobi carried Lunia bridal style and Woes carrying the bigger Tenor across his shoulders like before. Woes dropped his party buddy onto the couch. Tobi gently did the same for Lunia into a recliner, covering them both with blankets.
"Ihuicatl! Living room, now please!" Panic and anxiety salted her tone. This was serious.
Woes gave a casual 'what up' salute at Tobi's roommate.

He had no time to react honestly, the warm water almost burning his hand as he tried to steady himself. He had jumped and was now holding his chest as if he were an old man being scared almost half to death and was clearly lost in his thoughts and enjoying the silence.
"Well it is nice to see you too..." He muttered and wiped off his hand and made his way over, clearly more composed than the other two young folk. "Please tell me you didn't kill them." He stated, eyeing both her and Woes.
He looked over at the two limp bodies as he was finishing his cup, almost downing it in one go without much of an effort. He seemed to poke at their bodies, checking their eyes and tapping their face.
"What in the name of the gods did you two do to them?" He set the mug down on the table behind him against the wall and sort of shrugged a bit. "They...aren't dead but I think this is sort of like a possession? Trust me I've done weird shit before this is nothing new but...This reminds me a bit of what happened every year, someone lulls people into their sleep and...well...you get the idea." His fingers tapped the table in a rhythmic pattern.

Tobi and Woes
"Nada"
Woes broke the quietude. "I didn't do anything to Lunia! She just passed out! On the other hand, Tobi probably poisoned Tenor, ya kidding?" His half attempts to cover up the last part in a loud whisper obviously didn't work. He snickered at Tobi puffing her cheeks.
Snapping back from anxious to annoyed in a heartbeat. Tobi never missed how much of a pain this guy was. "Not a good time, Woes." Her silver eyes rolling at his poorly timed humor. Quickly bouncing back, Tobi cupped her hands together questioning, she almost caved in on herself timidly hopeful. "How can we help them Ihuicatl?"
Woes trotted back over to Lunia finding a seat on the arm of the chair. He looked at her with worry like something in him hated the fact he couldn't do a damn thing for her. His ears drooped. He'll get her right as rain again, surely. A deep sigh resounded in the room. The darkness of night coming on. Lunia was his first friend, of course, she meant something to him. There was one thing they hadn't tried yet.
Woes got down close to Lunia's face, he'd seen this on TV once. Gentle as possible, he straightened her form, grasped her shoulders, and shook the ever living daylights out of the limp body. "LUNIA GET YOUR LAZY ASS UP!"

The young man looked at the bodies, mauling over it. He never really knew how to do it himself but the difference here was they were people closest to these two. He just kept thinking of something, eventually pacing and running his hands through his hair and he began to think about it. Trying to go through knowledge he could remember from long ago. It was true they did speak with the different realms but that was so long ago.
"We might have a means to do so but it's risky and I honestly don't know what we are dealing with." He stopped talking as he watched the friend of Tobi wander over to the girl and just vigorously shake her.
He rushed over and moved the boy aside. "Do not do that! What if you snap her neck? Then she's really dead."
A sigh came from him as he spoke. "Listen the issue...is I don't know who is causing this. This...This is different." He tapped his fingers again. "We can...try...and I mean try as in try to break into it but I don't know I haven't used the stuff in years and do I look like I carry around an onyx mirror?" He seemed like an awkward dad now with two children.
"We basically have to do drugs and sort of tap into the spirit realm for guidance... But I've got incense sooo...That's a close second."

Tobi and Woes
"Nada"
The boy stopped at Ihuicatl's direction, only for him to crane his neck to cut the man a dirty look. Better than the whole lot of nothing the other two were doing. Hmmph! Woes backed off Lunia's tiny body. Shrinking down in front of the cushy rocker she rested in, he simply sat with crossed legs and arms, watching for any signs of life in her. Only the faint rising of her chest could be seen. It made his head burn with resentment. Why couldn't he do anything more?
As Ihuicatl took a moment to consider their options, Tobi found a spot on the couch next to an out cold Tenor. Gently, she resettled his head on her lap. Stroking his clumps of ocean locks as softly as possible as if there was a chance it might disturb his slumber. Tobi's sterling orbs flashed up from the midnight merfolk's form, begging Ihuicatl, "Anything. We'll do anything."
Woes' voice almost cracked at the solution given. "What are we sitting on our asses for?!" He jumped, dashing off to face Ihuicatl man to man his claws forming fists. His whole body just screamed 'ready for action!'

He was a little taken aback by the two young adults who seemed more than ready to do anything, even drugs, just to save them. They would have to break in the reality that was still sort of tied to their own but it was worth a shot, lousy but it was something at least. He sighed. "I'll grab my things..."
The man returned to the room after rummaging about his bedroom for things, he kept his room fairly organised and while he did pray often he wasn't aware his things would eventually become useful at this point in time. He lacked an onyx mirror which he could always order eventually from Morgan's shop so he opt out for just a bowl with water and a hand mirror placed at the bottom. To anyone who wasn't himself, would probably look at this and think he was some kind of insane witchcraft person, which he wasn't but one could say he learned from having worked with a witch.
As the scented smoke filled the room, he waited for the others to sit in front of him before he started. Asking them to clear their minds and thoughts before he began. He hadn't done this in years and felt a bit of pressure but he tried anyways, telling them to hold onto a thought of the other two bodies in the room but keeping their minds open. He spoke in his mother tongue, a language slowly lost to time and as he did. His hands wavered, the water in the bowl rippling to his words and commands as his voice slowly seemed to chant and change. Speaking but with something otherworldly about it. As he peered into the mirror and -
The world seemed to shift, the room didn't feel like their own and the world churned into an array of a night sky where a dog chased the sun and vanished in the distance. Wine poured from his lips and he could feel hands feel his body as he stopped speaking, a hand gently touching the other two with him until the wine stopped. Leaving the lower half of his mouth stained red, as if it was really blood this entire time. The hands vanished and he looked at the two young people.
"Quietly..." He murmured, to nobody in particular.

Tobi and Woes
"Nada"
With each new item the dark-skinned man brought forth, the more determined Woes became. After delicately placing each object in their correct place, the ritual began. He wasn't sure how to take it. All this magic mumbo-jumbo always confused the bone eater. Ihuicatl told the duo to hold onto a thought of the unconscious ones in the room. It really made Woes wonder. What were some good memories they all shared? For Lunia, it was easy, the night they snuck into an abandoned factory. No cares in the world, they just wanted to get away for a bit, spray painting the barren walls with graffiti. And for Tenor, remembering the time Tobi walked in on Woes shaving Tenor’s legs for ladies night at their usual pub. It was all great.
For Tobi, she remembered sharing a hospital room with Lunia. Sure it was during a really rough time for Tobi having been when she was healing from the forest attack. But nonetheless, the two enjoyed each others company. Thoughts of Tenor visiting her at work made the shifters cheeks warm.
It was all they needed to fall into the metaphysical realm.

Ihuicatl looked at the two and rose, the world shifted to a strange plane of existence and one he wasn't very familiar with. It was evident that by asking them to think of the others, they arrived wherever they managed to have their souls taken. He cracked his neck before stretching, his image vaguely shifting as he did so. He took on a much different appearance and one he hadn't necessarily looked at in awhile. An appearance fit for a king.
"The rules still apply to the physical realm...if you die here, there's no guarantee you'll live. I've died thrice but frankly, I don't want to count on dying again."
He helped the other two up onto their feet, and something about the man seemed different. Younger, lighter and glowing.
"Shall we?" He asked, his eyes never once gazing into theirs. He waved a hand over them. "Try not to look directly into my eyes here either."
