"Yes, I am Dr. Bin Dziban, Surgical specialist. I brought my technicians and equipment with me and I came prepared."
The door opened and revealed a short, angular man with pointed features, and unamused black eyes; which stared through both rounded glasses and Dr. Gurulf. His hair was wadded beneath a surgical cap, his mask already in place. He wore simple grey scrubs embroidered with his name on the front, and was already wearing booties. He stood straight, making him appear taller than he was; one hand behind his back. The other rested on a cane that supported his weight on the left side. His left leg tapered to an unnatural point, capped with an effective but unnatural-looking stub, like a curved chair leg.
Two much larger men flanked him, one carrying a large, functional leather suitcase, the other carried a hard plastic case, and a smaller case on his right. He seemed to be trying to watch Malakhi's step for him, which may have lead to at least some of his irritation.
"Round me on the case. I need to see radiography as well, if you wish for my help. I brought plating equipment with me and an appropriate kit. And I should hope I am the appropriate person for this specific set of problems."
He glanced towards the prep room; he would have to scrub fast and set up quickly to be of assistance here.
"I do have some magical healing ability though we will still need to proceed with proper medical technique and surgical stabilization first."
His voice was stern and commanding, and, in the case, quite confident. His eyes appeared unblinking, though that was actually impossible. Their focus was intense, and constant.

Jedidiah:
he stepped back inside to avoid blocking the doorway, letting the Doctor in along with the two following him. he simply nodded, before walking over towards a wall and removing the glasses he wore, before plugging them into a discrete wire. . .when he hit a small switch, the section of wall that appeared like a light wall used for viewing X-rays came to life, he merely place in the input needed to show the video feed, pausing at the side, and top (or strait from in front of the chest wall down towards the spinal cord) of the rib cage as well as the arm broken with the patient on the table at the moment.
from the X rays being shown, the 4th, 5th and 6th rib at the mid axelary region on the left side appear to have broken in 5 different areas surrounding where some busing was correlating to the child's unconscious body. the 4th and 5th rib each having two breaks about an inch apart all the while being flattened? or turned abit where instead of running where the sections were alined with the rest of the rib, the two points of each arch seem to aim downwards. the left upper arm seemed to have broken at a slight slant where the bone's two halves seemed to have been offseted by half ways out of line from eachother. from the image of the shots, no magor veins or blood vessels have been punctured or busted but there were plenty of lesser blood vessels that were ruptured, the lung on the left side seems to be relatively untouched but bruising seems to have made breathing minorly difficult for the child.
"patient, age 7, was involved in a multi vehicular collision. suffered blunt force trauma during the event from the left side. 4th, 5th and 6th rib in the left mid axelary line were broken in the process where the 4th and 5th breakages have shifted inside the body. the lung has not yet been punctured. but there are contusions in the area.-" which was a miracle considering the circumstances. " the left humerus suffered a break but has not completely shift out of place. " he explained.
when Ash asked if they were going to fix the child, he nodded. they were going to at least try the best they can, though he has no magic to speak of.

Ash watched the exchange between the two doctors, trying to follow what they were saying, though at least some of the words were unknown to him. When the two large men entered with Dr. Bin Dziban's things, Ash moved back and out of the way, a little intimidated. Nervously, he moved well back, not wanting to be seen as hovering or to be in the way of anything the doctors needed to do - but he was still worried for the child. He knew he was altogether useless at the moment, however.
All he could do was wait, and answer quickly if he was asked to do anything. He was interested in learning more about healing without magic, but... he was also well aware that this wasn't an ideal learning environment. There was too much that could go wrong...

The short, masked man eyed the radiographs for a few minutes, as if discerning their contents and processing them like a small, fussy computer. He made some soft grumbling noises, muttering to himself about the fractures and the current plan, dark eyes difficult to read. His brows seemed forever thoughtful and knit beneath his rounded glasses.
Dr. Bin Dziban then turned himself sharply and disappeared into the prep room to scrub himself. There he placed his cane down with a grumble, bearing his weight on the table. He instructed the nurses that accompanied him with authority, asking for specific pieces of equipment and his own scrub, gown and gloves he had transported personally.
When all was said and done, he moved into the room, without support. It was at a strange pace, like half a limp, but he walked none the less. He carried all his pride and authority on his shoulders as he came to join Jedidiah at the table, nodding curtly at Ash. His assistants followed, unfolding an instrument table and opening prepacked instruments.
"When they are all appropriately fixated, I can bond them. It guarantees healing and requires only two weeks of rest. That is my power."
He spoke with confidence, self-assured, and eyed the rib fractures thoughtfully. They could heal on their own, it was true, but they would heal better with surgical fixation, at least with his power. He made a soft huff sound behind his mask, and got to work getting out flexible plates and small screws. This would be a long job.

Jedidiah:
what was asked of the nurses, the ones present were punctual and on their feet. if the doctors needed it, they went and grabbed it. patient's life was in their hands. if they were going to be the catalyst to the paitent's survival, then they need to act as though things could go south at any moment- partly due to this being true.
they waited, thankfully for a short period of time for the doctor to go and scrub himself down before he returned in a limp but proud brisk manner from what Jedidiah could tell. Thank God he wasnt those type of doctors who just meandered from place to place regardless of the situation.
"alright, then lets get started. " he replied, nodding in understanding. he's . . . never seen magic before. . .though if he has a method of speeding up the healing process of the bones re-bonding at the fracture sites then by all means, let em. if it means the patient would benefit from this then the benefits would outweight the potential consequences. . . .and seeing as young as she was, there was a great chance she would bounce back physically from this as if nothing happened- not considering later habits or mental state after such a horrific accident.
and although they has normal sized drills, as well as one more fitted for his hand. . . . he cant hold the normal ones, and the one he has would not be able to fit the heads needed to fit a small medical screw for a child. . . . .and so far, adaptors for the drill he has built to be able to accommodate smaller screw head sizes resulted in overheating and smoke comming from the adapter itself. . . . definitely not good for the patient if his drill suddenly combusted. he would have to go old school with it, and was plenty strong enough to do this, had the experience of doing this as well from his time as a doctor in the mountains. . . . but yeaaaah. . . . . . they dont have the luxury time wise.
without further delay, and when all was prepared. he took the surgical tool- a clean one from his own surgical tray- and continued with the incision. as large as his hands were, and as clumsy looking they might appear. his movements were rather fluid and careful. . . . cutting through the layers of skin and the thin layer of fat. . to where the broken ribs of the site were exposed in a manner hopefully least damaging to the patient muscle wise. haoever should Dr. Bin Dziban decided to take over, he did not fight the man on it, he would need to turn it over to him when they finally reached the bones since his hands were too big to properly operate the standard drill fitted to accommodate human hands. . . . he's worked where there were two surgeons working on a singular patient as well as a doc to a patient.
he had to be especially careful considering that this was a child. . . a young child. . . last thing he wants to do was handicap the child while they were trying to save her. . . though, that seems to be the case with most doctors. despite the time crunch they were on, although he did not meander, he did not rush it either. . .too easy to make a mistake. meanwhile, his stumps continued to ache in sever pain due to the storm. . . stubbornly he ignored it, he can curl up in a ball of pain and cry about it when he goes to sleep. . . .
but there was a red herring present.
meanwhile in the corridors, should someone be currently listening to the faint voices of the chaos outside, there was a frantic voice- presumably female, demanding to know where her baby was, if she was alive, while Dr. Helsing was trying to get the woman to calm down so they could get names, and any other bit of information IDing the woman as her mother, trying to get her to wait and trying to explain what was going on. . . . from what one could gather, she apparently just woke up in a daze.

Ash continued to hang back as the more experienced individuals went to work on fixing the child. He watched the new doctor for a while - having somewhat timidly returned his nod of acknowledgement earlier - curious and intimidated by the man. Eventually he shifted back to watching Jedi, wincing at the sight of the child's flesh peeled back, the exposed muscle and shattered bone. It was difficult to look at, and a wonder that none of those bone shards had pierced anything important - the lungs and heart were so close.
His fingers twitched with the urge to do something, but there was really nothing he could do. The various support-personnel in the room saw to the process of the surgery better than he could with his still-limited grasp of the language, and even if he were just as good at the job as they were, there were already a lot of people clustered about the room - he would only get in the way.
The sounds coming from the hallway outside were already a cacophony in his ears - difficult to pick one voice out from another in the general chaos outside. A few were briefly recognizable - other doctors that he had heard Jedidiah speak with before - but overall they all just blended together. Or they did until one picked up, high and frantic - he couldn't make out the words, but he could make out the panic behind them.
He glanced once more at the busy doctors, then quietly made his way toward the doors. He pushed them open a crack and glanced out into the hall, trying to make out the source of those anguished cries. Was that someone he could help? Likely not, but still, he wanted to see what was happening.

Malakhi focused on the ribs first. They would not need an external fixator. They would work better with small flexible plates (but not too flexible). Too flexible would leave open the possibility of non-union. Or worse, disintegration. The worst fate that could befall a broken bone. His magic might ensure success, but how much energy could he spare, given how much work he had to do suture-wise? He would see when he was done.
The surgeon focused on the worst first. worked diligently with his screws and plates, occasionally asking some of his technicians to help hold portions of his toolsets stable, or open more packs for him. He disliked the amount of waste that each surgery produced, and the work he had to do afterwards cleaning and autoclaving everything in all of his packs, but it also gave him a certain kind of pride.
The noise was starting to get to him, but he noticed that the nurse Dr. Gurulf brought with him was going to see to the matter. He stared at one of his nurses until they noticed, and after making eye contact, motioned with his head in a way that said ‘deal with this.’
The nurse-technician, a large man, walked off to provide additional support to Ash if it was needed. He was tall and built like a seafoam-colored wall; large enough to restrain even a strong super, and this was what Malahki was banking on. No parents were allowed in the ER, especially hysterical, distressed ones.
He made a soft hissing sound through his teeth, and started tissue closure, after securing the last portion of the plate. This would take time.

Jedidiah:
he watched over the process. . .if he could do something else to help he would do so, glancing over at the monitor every so often, before back to the opening. he barely noticed Ash meander towards the door of the room. . haoever definitely noticed the sudden volume change when the door was opened. . . so far, everything seemed normal-well, considering the patient's condition . . . the child apon a random point during the surgery seemed to stir awake- yet not exactly aware, or was drugged to the point of not caring that she was in pain, or simply did not feel the pain at the moment, murmured something incoherent in her groggy state before loosing consciousness again. . .
either something about 'mooncake' 'momwait' 'movemate' or something of the sort. . he frowned glancing at the girl. . .concerned she had woken up, except her heart-rate did not change from the slower pace that was normal for a patient under anesthetic. . . .perhaps she was one of the few who could or does wake up during surgery? according to what was written down, the dosage amount being used was accurate for what was recommended for a human child her age, weight and height. though, when she went back to being unconscious, he went back to focusing on the surgery. as long as shes not moving around or trying to move while they were messing with her insides, its fine.
meanwhile, in the corridor, there were two women outside of the room they were in and down the corridor abit, one in a lab coat trying to get the other one to calm down. . . Dr. Helsing at first seemed as though she was succeeding in quelling the head damaged woman as she demanded to see where her daughter was. . . before it suddenly escalated. the woman suddenly grabbed the good doctor before throwing her down the hallway, with unnatural strength, before she began to shift. . .
her secondary form could be compared to that of a mixture of a griffin and a sphinx, . . . except her eyes and mouth seemed to have become almost void like, but her teeth seem to be able to extend and retract, such being similar to the teeth of an angular fish. . . and from hao heavily she was breathing, hao her jaws were moving; it was as if it was natural to dislocate their jaws and extend them similar to constrictors.
with small white dots in her eye sockets, they gleamed with angered focus. . . she did not show signs of holding back or hiding it; she was injured and agitated. she growled at the Doctor, before one of her feathered ears seemed to twitch abit, following in the beast like form to turn her attention towards where the subtly squeak from the hinges emitted from. . .
she took a few tentative steps towards them before stopping. . . as if to try and gauge if the two poking their heads out were prey or predators. . . and more importantly. .
if she can see, hear or smell her baby on them. . . she wants to see where her baby was and where she was taken. . as if primordial maternal instincts were kicking in . . .

Ash startled slightly when the large nurse stepped up behind him to peer out the door - more or less over his head. He wasn't as tall as Jedi, but he was certainly taller than Ash's more human-like form! Ash glanced up at the man and offered a quick nod and a slight smile by way of greeting, before shifting his attention back out to the hall.
The other Doctor seemed to be arguing with an injured woman - at least that's what it looked like in the instant before the injured woman grabbed her, threw her down the hallway, and then shifted. The change was not a smooth blurring of one form to another as Ash's was - nothing so natural looking. Instead her body seemed to twist and grow, rearranging itself into something monstrous. Ash had never seen anything like it before, and he wasn't sure he wanted to see anything like it ever again.
When she turned toward them he tensed - hoping she would turn away. She did not, instead she began to stalk toward them, moving toward them like they were prey. Ash could feel his hair wanting to stand on end, wanting to lift and puff up as his scales would have. Perhaps he should shift? He wasn't sure he'd be able to stop her, she was large and muscular...
After a moment's hesitation, Ash stepped out into the hall and to the side of the door, leaving room for the big man if he meant to follow. He shifted as he moved, blurring from one form into another. His scales immediately stood up, lifting to make him appear larger and more thratening, though he kept his wings furled tight against his back.
"Please calm," he rumbled, lifting his hands to show he was unarmed - at least, unarmed aside from his claws. "Doktors are busy. They fix the baby." He tried to explain, struggling a little bit to remember the proper words in this stressful situation.

The large technician stood behind Ash, physically blocking the woman from coming any closer. He barred his arms out at his sides, and lowered his head like a bull. He was not letting her in, even if she was some kind of a beast. There was no place for violence in a hospital, mothering instincts or not. Ash felt a change in the man beside him; his skin thickened and he seemed to sprout a pair of horns. Was he some kind of gargoyle or devilish creature? It was hard to say from what they could see, but he sported a large, toothy maw.
"Ma'am, it's for her own good. Please stay out of the Operating Room; it could endanger her life and distract the surgical staff. She is currently stable and progress is steady. If you need to observe, it will be from the preparation room, but that is not standard procedure."
His voice seemed deeper, steady, reasonable and yet absolute. It was a far cry from Malakhi's irritating growling.
Meanwhile, Malakhi worked, grumbling to himself. He didn't have time for this nonsense. If she got into the OR, she would probably start throwing all of them around, and that was something he could do without. If he had to, he could try to use his power to stun her, but it would be a waste of his healing power. It was best to rely on the others to keep the woman at bay for now.
"... I have a lot of work left to do."
He remarked, moving on to the next site, carefully dissecting the tissues with perfect precision, fitting them together like puzzle pieces and smoothing out abnormalities and sharp structures.

Jedidiah:
the breathing of the patient remained steady. . Thank God. . .for a moment there, he was concerned whatever high frequency sound the woman? was making outside might of stood a chance of waking the patient up. . . he kept an eye on the monitors still. . .focusing on whats going on outside is one of the last things the child needs at the moment. then there was the bit of witnessing Dr. Bin Dziban doing something . . . weird that was mending the flesh and perhaps bone as well of the patient before he moved onto the next site, the left humerus. . .thankfully the break isn't messy as it could of been, but will still need to be secured in place with a surgical nail.
the inhuman form the mother of the child took was at best, very agitated by the two suddenly becoming big beings appearing before her. . . so, they were not prey items. . .but, she could smell blood. . . she wasnt sure who's blood it was, hers or her daughter's but she has the understanding that her baby was in danger . . .just not that she was endangering her baby.
From a more studied glance. . . they might notice she had not exactly stopped bleeding from where her head was struck during the accident. . . her shifting tore the bandages off of her head, if not at least shifted them out of place. . .from the location of the impact, she was lucky to have not died on impact. . . but there was a good chance she may or may not pass out due to the concussion she was suffering from. she was gone enough from logic to not immediately back down and realize what she was doing, but just enough to either process she fighting might hurt her baby, or at worse, they have her hostage. .
"where, WHERE!? what happened to her? what are you doing to her?!" she demanded.
the tension almost seemed tangent from how the situation seemed to unfold. . . .it might seem as if they were regressing, but so far, no real fight has ensued. . . Dr. Helsing down the hallway seemed to start to sit up. . personally unamused by the throw. but at the same time, thankful one of the other staff was able to help try and catch her so she wouldnt break her neck on something, or hurt another patient . . .
though whatever on God's green earth the patient was, she had no earthly idea.

Ash's scales lifted, startled, when the man behind him changed forms - he was certainly larger than average, but he hadn't expected the man to be a shifter. He glanced back a moment, his eyes widening as he took in the changes in the man behind him - but he couldn't focus on that. Later he could ask what the man was, just now the angry mother-creature was what he needed to focus on. She was speaking to them, at least - anger practically radiating off of her as she demanded to know about her child. Speaking was definitely better than attacking, but she was still a threat.
Ash tried to force his scales down into a more neutral, submissive set. He kept his hands raised, palms outward, and made placating gestures. He smelled blood - and he saw it too, streaming down the mother-creature's head. He wasn't sure how much was enough to be dangerous, but it certainly looked like she was losing a lot!
"Calm. Calm. Child is here. Arm hurt. But doktors are fix her." He drew a breath, slow, giving a moment for her to take in what he said, then he continued, a slight worried keen behind the deep rumble of his voice. "You are... are blood. Need to calm, let doktors fix it."

The nurse raised his head slightly from his bull-like menacing pose, and straightened himself up. He felt the tension abating a little bit, but if she decided to charge through him and into the OR there could be serious consequences. He listened to Ash talk, and his shoulders relaxed. That was the gist of all of this. Maybe something so simple would allow her to see more clearly into the process that had to happen here. He calmed himself and continued to speak, though his menacing shape did not alter itself.
"She's having surgery to fix the accident trauma. It is important not to come in right now, but you can visit afterwards. I can see you are in need of medical attention yourself, so please, calm down. I think they will have some questions for you when you are ready to talk."
He spoke as soothingly as he could. His voice was deep and almost-demonic sounding, a strange contradiction from his calm mannerism. His eyes glowed a slight red as he monitored the situation.
Meanwhile, Malakhi continued to work. He had so much more suturing to do, and it made his back ache. The healing magic he emanated he was sure to only use as needed to knit the bones just enough to ensure that things would hold. That was enough. He grumbled to himself and looked over his shoulder to see what was being done about the screaming-woman-monster situation. If she barged in here now, it would spoil their good work, but thankfully the child had only stirred and not woken from her slumber. He thought about increasing the anesthesia, but there was no need.
He dissected away and touched a few spots delicately, before bringing out the drill. This one was the big one. It would need a plate, perhaps two, and a lot of energy. It was in many pieces and had a lot of structural weakness. At the very least, this would allow the child to use her arm earlier than she could otherwise. Something that he was never afforded but sometimes he wondered. Malakhi pushed the thought out of his mind irritably, and settled on the present.
So much more. He'd have to remove the sharp shards in case they did not want to heal well. There was already a great deal of bruising and swelling to make his job more difficult.

The woman seemed to calm abit, or rather; tried to.
But was still clearly uncertain about all of this. . . . Perhaps it was the head trauma making it hard to think. . . Perhaps it was the duress, or even blood loss. . . Either way after some rather uneasy 10 mins or so the eyes of the form the child's mother seemed to take seemed to slowly raise from their sockets. . . .as if setting to a state not as primordial or agitated as she was when the doctor was poking around and not letting her see her baby. . . .
Though her eyes did not fully press against the eye lids enough to reveal them. . . "Then fix my baby. . . Save her first." she demanded. It was exacerbating that her baby was hurt, and these people wont let her see her baby. . . . But if they hurried up and fixed her, then she can see her baby. . . .God, why does her head and body feel heavy?
Jedidiah:
Tink. Tink. Tink.
Small fragments of bone clattered in the Aluminum steel tray provided as Dr. Bin Dziban removed the fragments from the site in the arm. . . .as clean of a break as it was considering the accident, even those stand a chance at having fragmentation. It became rather quiet outside. . . .apart of him wondered if the two were able to peacefully nullify the situation . . .another part wondered if this was just merely the calm before the storm. . . .
again, the whirl of a drill too small for him to operate. . . Thankfully so far, so good . . .should he need to up the dosage, he was prepared, seeing that the girl stired earlier.

Ash hesitated, his ears twitching back toward the nurse as he tilted his head slightly toward the other man. He bobbed his head slightly, nodding in agreement with the other's words. The nurse spoke more clearly than he did, and the other's deep voice didn't bother him at all, at least. It was a little deeper than his own, but in this form his was fairly deep as well.
"Doktors fix," he agreed, repeating himself, but it felt necessary. After a moment he took a slow step toward the mother-creature, lowering his posture and putting his ears and crest back into a more submissive posture. "You are blood. Let us help? Bandage... off? Fix it."
If she let him, he would approach slowly, reaching carefully toward the bandages hanging about her head. He could rewrap them, so that she wouldn't be bleeding as much. His eyes quickly darted away from her a moment, lighting on the other doctor further down the hall. The woman who had been thrown, but who had gotten up again. She would know what to do, wouldn't she? He tried to attract her attention, but didn't want to call out to her for fear of further distressing the mother-creature. The glance was only for the briefest moment, before his attention returned to the mother-creature, hopeful that she would let him help.
