[....2 and 15. *muffled screaming*]
The tackle failed. Miserably. Morningstar pivoted out of the way with seconds to spare. Hissing a curse, Kail skidded to a halt and whipped around, just in time to see Morningstar barrel in to him, shoulder first, throwing him against the ropes. Shit shit shitshitshitshit He had to get off the ropes and fast, because one punch to the face would be a K.O with her. Pinned against the ropes, the wendigo lashed out like a cornered animal. His hands clasped together as he bought them behind her neck, hoping to pull down and smash her face with his knee.

[OOC: So a 6 for defence, and then an 18 for offence. Given the knock she just took though, I would discount that down to a 13 ]
To her savage delight, Moana managed to get the hoofed furball on the ropes, shoulder barging him hard between a neutral corner and her own. Her head was tucked into her shoulder to avoid taking any punches, but she sure did not see his response coming. Instead of a strike he locked his long arms around her neck and, before she realised what he was doing, brought a knee up into her face. She couldn't even twist out of the way, and blood burst from her nose. Her vision blurred, ears ringing, and she knew she was in trouble. With that grip on her neck, she couldn't even back out without taking him with her... 'But He is on the ropes...'
One of her own arms looped over his to grip the back of his neck, and if that was more for support than to hold him in place that might stay her secret. Her other arm brought as much strength as she dared into another solid punch to twinkle-hooves gut.

6 defense, and 11 attack. Ouch]
Kail let a small, victorious grin as Morningstar face connected solidly with his knee, hot blood spurting from her nose. It ran down her face, dripping to the mat below. Ouch. However, his grin dissipated as he felt her hands clamp around the back of his own neck. He thrashed against her grip, but it was strong and unrelenting.
A hard, savage punch to the gut made him curl up instinctively, retching. A strangled, winded 'fuck' slipped out of his mouth as he kicked out blindly, attempting to get away from the ropes. That had really, really hurt. His hands released her neck, realizing that he was still holding on. His knee-to-face move had disoriented Morningstar, giving him a small amount of room to move, so move he did.

[12 then 8. So freaking close to 20... take that eight as a six]
Moana heard the expletive and kept grinning through the blood that soaked her teeth. This was the most fight anyone had put up so far. He kicked out, pushing away from the ropes, and Moana let go with only a passing cuff to the side of his head. She was woozy enough that she didn't even know if it made contact. She moved toward the neutral corner herself, taking the time to breathe and blow the extra blood out of her nose. She saw jade waving at her from her own corner with a towl, but shook her head. That made the world swim a bit, but she still had her balance.
She turned (slowly) To look at Twinklehooves in the centre of the ring. He was still doubled over, but looked like he would be recovering shortly.
Good. Wouldn't do to finish the highlight of the night so soon, after all. She pulled herself into a low stance, and waited for him to come back.

[2 and 3. I give up :'D]
As Morningstar released Kail, he got a harsh cuff around the side of the head as a parting gift. Hissing and stumbling backwards, the wendigo doubled over, vision swimming. The crowds cheers and yells were muted, muffled, his pounding pulse and a constant ringing the only sound he could hear.
Through slitted eyes he saw Morningstar grin through blood-slicked teeth, readying herself for his attack. His eyes closed briefly, before the super stood up, slowly, shoulders rolling backwards as he took in a deep breath. He rocked back on his hooves, before starting to circle Morningstar ever so slowly. It hurt to walk. Exhaling sharply, he rushed her, speed reduced to a mere shadow of its former glory, and went for a sucker punch to the face. His aim was sloppy and slow, and he could barely hear or see, but at least he gave it a go. If he made contact (not likely) he would leap backwards and continue circling, waiting for an opening.

[OOC: I rolled a 3 on defence, because this dice is determined that Moana get beat up as much as possible. The 19 on attack made up for it? Same penalty as before, drop it to 14]
She waited while he pulled himself to his feet. It took a moment, but he managed fine. Then, he charged at her - same tactic, but slower. Moanas eyes were still swimming a little, so even braced she was still struck. But his aim was as sloppy as her guard, so while fresh lights sparked to life behind her eyes she kept on her feet, only staggering back a step. This was her last match, she knew - even if she managed to win, she would bow out before taking a fresh fighter.
Like a cresting wave, she launched from the back step. He was trying to cut back again, trying the repeat attacks that had put him in good stead earlier. She wouldn't let him this time, surging forward to the centre of the ring and launching a straight jab, avoiding the chest this time for a solid blow at his admittedly blurry head. By now she knew he was tough enough to take... less restrained hits. She put all she had left into this one.

[13 defense and 10 attack. Penalty brings that down to 5. They both need some milk XD] Kail vaguely registered the punch landing. They were both pretty worn out, then, if such a crappy punch had landed. He attempted to step back, away from Morningstar, but her fist jabbed towards his face. He ducked, adrenaline peaking, as the punch landed low and only clipped his chin. The blow was still hard, and kncord him back a few feet, vision going completely black for a second. The wendigo knew if it had made solid contact with his face he would probably have been knocked out cold. He took another step backwards, hand going to his jaw. He wiped away blood dripping from his split lip, spitting it onto the floor. No teeth gone, thankfully. Still hurt like a bitch. He went straight back for the attack, kicking out this time at her legs. A weak kick, at that, but still a kick. If he made contact he would continue his attack, and not back away. The fight had to finish soon.

[Rolled a 5 def, with a 17 attack, brought to 12]
Moana was vaguely surprised that she was still standing. It had been a long time in the ring for her, but she muzzily felt her head clearing. Those repeated blows to the skull had not helped at all, but the ringing was starting to subside.
Twinkle-hooves kicked out at her legs, landing across her shins. That stung, but almost without thinking she countered with a kick towards his lower back. Landed or not, she was going to back away towards ring centre. The fight had to end, but she needed to think straight to do it – and that meant getting space enough to clear her head!

[4 defense, 1 attack. I...I didn't even know it was possible to score that low :'D ]
Both of their kicks connected. His hooves scraped along her shins, while Morningstar landed a solid blow to his back. The force from the attack floored the wendigo, and for a second he just lay there, vision swimming and the ringing in his ears louder then ever. Slowly, he pushed himself up on his elbows, watching blood drip from his lips to the floor. The metallic, bitter taste filled his mouth as he breathed in and out raggedly, looking up blearily. The small movement sent a spike of pain through his skull, causing him to wince and hiss under his breath. She definitely hadn't...held back, on that last punch of hers. Everything was just a messy haze of colors, so he couldn't really tell, but it looked like his kick hadn't done much at all. Well, the fight had been a decent one. No death, not that much blood drawn, and they both seemed to be...prettily evenly matched. The young super would be interested to know how an all out fight would have gone, with her shapeshifting and his teeth and claws used.
He held up his hands in a pacifying display of defeat, before she could deliver a K.O. He wasn't a wuss, but what was the point of getting another punch to the face when it was obvious who had won? If it had been a real brawl, he never would have 'given up', but this wasn't one of his normal to-the-death fights. Just a friendly fight, he thought, teeth gritted. Nothing wrong with calling the winner.
"Ok, ok, you win, 'Star. You win. I've got to admit, you put up a hell of a fight, even if I did go easy on you." He joked, lips drawn up in a smirk. "But I'll definitely kick your ass next time." He grinned up at her, but that ever present aggression in his voice added just the slightest bit of bite to the sentence. "Good fight, though."

Moana drew a shaky breath as he got to his feet. Her head was clearing, and she became aware she was aching. A quick hand signal to her corner let Jade know she was done in. Then, to her surprise, he held up his hands in voluntary surrender.
The crowed roared in the background as he spoke, and she grinned weakly. “That was a good fight, twinkle hooves.” She agreed, ignoring the bite. “Honestly, I’m throwing the towel in here too. No way I can take on another match, even one of those wussy were’s.” Her mental estimate of him went up another few notches. Here was a kid who knew how to back off if needed, which made him strong and smart. “Lets leave it at a draw, and piss off all the bookies in the crowd. And if there is a next time out of the ring…” She gave a lazy, predatory smile “Well, you’ll get to find out what I am after all, at least. Now tell me, how are you settling in? Do you have work here yet..?”

Kail nodded his head in a quick display of thanks at the mention of a draw, returning the feral grin. "A draw. Sounds good to me." His smirk stretched wider, and he looked his fellow predator in the eyes. "Oh, I'd absolutely love another round, go all out...just not today." The wendigo stretched, shaking his hands out as his claws reappeared. God, everything hurt. Worth it, though. The crowd was almost rioting at the draw, gamblers scrabbling to get their money back, the rest just roaring in appreciation at the fight. Kail, savoring the hullabaloo, looked up and swiveled his ears forward as Morningstar spoke.
"Now tell me, how are you settling in? Do you have work here yet..?” Kail shrugged his narrow shoulders, slouching. 'Work' could mean many things, but he got the gist of the question. "Yeah, settling in fine, thanks. Lots of...prey." He spoke slowly, cautiously. "Nah, no work yet. You offering a job?" His reply was blunt, but his tone was interested. Living out in the woods got very boring very quickly, without a pack. He wiped dark blood from his split lip as he spoke, watching her with equal degrees of curiosity and suspicion.

Moana hesitated, then made a snap decision.
"Not me hotshot." She said, now all business. "My boss made a place for me, and he is always looking for more people with talent who don't mind getting their claws a little red. He runs a pretty big gig, and is very open minded about his hires - as long as they are smart and can keep their head down when needed."
The ref finally pulled them into the ring for the traditional post fight pose, hands in the air. She turned with a grin. "I don't think I need to tell you where it is. Something tells me you can track me down, with the right lead and incentive." As they shook hands to leave, her hand seemed to shift against his. An odd smell wafted through the air briefly, a mix of sea, cold winds, and growing things. And then somehow, he was left holding a small red blossom. She winked. "Find me at the club." was all she added, before joining Jade at the corner.
