"It's a two for one deal," Simon joked without thinking, "It's uh. It's fine, y'know... When things work right."
He pushed his head into her hand, again without too much thought. By the time he realized he'd done it, it was too late to change course. She was offering petting, and y'know. He'd just take her up on it. Things were already a little weird.
"Oh. ... I see. You've got a nice home. I thought you might, being that you... Did stuff."
Simon let her pet him, closing his eyes and wagging his tail. He cracked an eye at her tone, and pressed his head a bit more into the petting. She seemed sad about her distance from humanity and people. He wanted to ask 'why' but held off. Not yet.
Instead, he just empathized.
"That sounds lonely, Sophia," he shook his head after she finished petting him, "I did like the food. It was really, really good."

Sophia stroked his head with her long, thin fingers. Her sad eyes were deep golden pools as she gazed down upon him. She tilted her scarred head upwards, almost skywards, and then back down at him, as if considering something, but instead smiled sadly.
“My body generates life, of many kinds. Here, it helps plants grow. My plants. I’m something of a gardener. The animals that live here with me are fat and healthy, so they often choose to stay.”
She leaned back against the wall, and slid down to the floor so that she was on level with Simon as a wolf. Close to him, she smelled of wilds, of wolf and of something else entirely. The smell was almost overwhelming in its fullness.
“It is lonely. I wish I could have people visit, so it is nice that you came here, even if you didn’t want to.”
Sophia stayed crouching. Her exposed bare feet were clawed.
“Which…reminds me. You can stay here tonight if you would like, or… I can walk you home. The effect of what I did will last for the rest of ..this.”
She gestured towards his body.

Simon blinked at her, adjusting himself so that he was sitting beside her by the wall. She was something nature related, perhaps a nature spirit or something. He wasn't in the best position to start guessing, and he was doing the opposite of his job right now. He wasn't sure if she meant plants would grow a lot around her if she was in a city, or if it was a people issue. He liked sitting with her, he understood why animals would hang around.
"I gotcha. I can smell it," He paused, "Not in a bad way. You smell nice?"
He watched her face, there was something deeply sad there. The wolf's workbrain kicked in, and he resolved to try and get some WDSA involvement.
"Well. I could visit, maybe. If you wanted. I'd stop by intentionally. This has been pawsitive."
The werewolf's ears flattened when he remembered that he'd have to actually get back home. Getting home when he was human might... propose some issues. When he turned back into a human shape, it was going to to take a lot of him out of him. And then there was the clothing situation... At least at this point he wasn't going to be covered in blood.
"It's probably gonna be easier to get home while I'm like 'this'. Not that I don't like hanging out. I don't, um. Get to keep my clothes. "

“Oh. Stop by intentionally. As a man. Yes. I would appreciate the company.”
Her expression became only marginally less sad, and her eyes sparkled at the thought of human-ish company. Trustworthy humanish company. She brushed a strand of fur-like, white hair out of her face.
If he was a werewolf himself, didn’t they have more in common than not?
They were both wolves, and both humans. Entirely different sorts, she supposed. He grew his own wild wolf inside of him, whereas she had always been more wolf than woman. The most important thing they had in common was that they were both creatures to be persecuted.
She reached out to pat his head.
“I can walk you back. I don’t mind…being in the city at night. Or… you can stay here. I have…clothes. They would be big on you, but you can wear them.”
The tall woman glanced behind her. A dresser drawer was full of clothing, folded neatly away. She wore mostly simple clothes, but simple clothes would probably be enough for this stranger.

"I'd like that too."
Simon nodded his furry head, his tail wagging as he leaned into her hand. It was not only his job, but Sophia was a genuine delight. Maybe he could get her to tell him what she'd put in that curry. Probably magic, but there was probably non-magical ingredients he could use. Funnily enough, the taste had survived his foggy werewolf brain.
He looked up at her, as if trying to imagine himself wearing his clothes. They probably would be big. They would work, though.
"I don't wanna make you walk all the way to the city. I think they'll work, thank you."

She smiled, the expression creeping slowly over her features. Her eyes remained sad, but somehow, there was a certain brightness to her now. She shifted her shoulders, moving her linen garment back up and onto her shoulder as she regarded Simon thoughtfully.
He wanted to stay. She’d not had a guest in a very long time. Would he stay in her bed? It was a large bed, and she could always spend her time on the floor in her canid form if she needed. She tried to hide her delight as she tried to plan out the evening with him.
“Yes. After you turn back, how will you return as a human? We are a very long walk from your people.”
Sophia realized she could probably give him a ride. She doubted that anyone would believe what they saw, even if she was somehow sighted this many miles away from civilization. A man on her back? She tried not to blush thinking about it.
“..I…I could…um…give you a ride, if you needed it…in the morning I mean…”
She looked a little sheepish as she rose to get her tea kettle and place it on the fire.
“Do…you want tea?”

Simon tilted his head as she spoke, thinking. It... It'd be a lot of walking. Sophia didn't appear to be wearing shoes either, it would be a lot of barefoot walking. He considered it, drumming his nails on the ground before speaking again.
"I...It would be a long walk. If it's not a problem, I wouldn't mind a lift."
Any way he could get home sooner rather than latter was probably for the best. He didn't want Ru to assume he was dead. Or work to get worried. Simon's full moons lasted longer now, work knew that, he was responsible. The werewolf had no idea how far from home he was, however.
The way his head snapped up when she offered him food was almost comical, and he chuckled at himself.
"I would love tea, Sophia."

Sophia smiled. She could give him a lift. It would still be a walk, of sorts, but not nearly as tedious as Simon seemed to make it out to be. She wiggled her clawed toes, and stretched. It was nice to share company with someone sometimes.
“I’ll be happy to give one to you. I don’t have guests very often, but my home is warm, and…you can stay in my bed. Or… I can put blankets on the floor for you. I made reed mats for the house and they are soft.”
Given that Simon was a wolf, she imagined he could probably sleep anywhere comfortably, but why would he want to?
She picked her kettle off the stovetop, placing it on the table, before gathering cups and pouring them both hot water. She then turned and inspected the bottles behind her, taking her time to find the perfect vial filled with herbs and dried flowers.
Sophia placed them within a satchel, and steeped them in each teacup, watching it turn a delicate pink color. There was a special kind of beauty to all of this.
“Oh. It’s rose tea. You aren’t allergic, are you?”
She pushed the cup towards Simon with a smile.
