Tsu didn’t press conversation on Edge throughout the car journey, instead concentrating on avoiding attention and lightly drumming his fingers to the quiet ‘Anarchy in the UK’ that filtered from the speakers. He could tell that the other man was nervous and conflicted about something, but didn’t want to make him more uncomfortable by quizzing him about it. As he hoped, the roads were relatively quiet and those he did pass thought nothing of the older gentleman and blanket-covered passenger.
It was only when Tsu pulled into the road housing Faolan’s apartment that he glanced over at Edge, taking in the quiet, anxious person bundled there. He didn’t say anything, instead turning his eyes back to the road in order to park. But once the car was stationary, the silvering agent said simply, “Don’t worry, I won’t say anything. You have your reasons for secrecy, I get it.” A brief smile, before Tsu clambered his way out of the vehicle.
The tall, broad figure appeared beside the passenger door a few seconds later, a clunk sounding beside Edge as Tsu opened the door. His grinning, stubbled face soon leant in through the open space. “Alright lad, let’s get you inside, shall we?” The werewolf’s movements were swift and came across oddly practiced, sweeping Edge in amongst the blanket and into his waiting arms. Tsu turned from the car, kicking the door closed with one foot before approaching the front door to the apartment block. He knew there was a buzzer on the front door and they would have to wait outside for a little while; but with Edge covered in the woolen material and his own body hidden enough by clothing and the dim light of the night to not cause concern at a distance, Tsu thought them safe enough. At the door he maneuvered his passenger’s weight onto one arm, hit the buzzer for a few moments and then returned to his wedding-style carrying of Edge’s injured form. He waited, ready to step through the door as soon as it was unlocked.

In the time it took the injured duo to arrive, Faolan had been busy preparing for the at-home surgery. It was clearly nothing too serious, considering Tsu hadn't immediately rushed the other to ER, but the other man had still been impaled. The floor of the living room had been cleared, the cat put into the bedroom, a clean towel placed over the tiles, and a few more towels stacked to the side.
His gloves were on, hands thoroughly washed, and his heavily boosted first aid kit open, with its contents neatly arranged inside. It was far more advanced than a normal first aid kit, containing equipment only accessible to medical personal - all acquired with permission, of course.
He had been waiting by the buzzer for only a few moments when it rang. He immediately buzzed them in, knowing it was Tsu, and knowing that the quicker he helped the injured man, the better. When the two arrived at his apartment, they would find the door ever so slightly ajar - easily pushed open with a shoulder and to avoid wasting time on knocking.

It really was Faolan’s apartment. When the car pulled up, and Edge saw the familiar structure, he knew he couldn’t deny it any longer, he couldn’t keep hoping that this was some other Faolan, who was also a doctor, or that perhaps he had heard the name wrong. It was Faolan. Thousands of thoughts raced through his mind, drowning him in the noise and volume of it all, like a raging flood. All of this had gone so wrong, so fast. But thinking back, how could the Darai have expected anything else. Unconsciously, he curled up just a little, as if to pull into himself, become invisible or maybe even wishing himself out of the situation, he didn’t know.
Then Tsukiko spoke, and Edge’s head snapped up, semi-alert to look at the other. The other smiled as he spoke, reassuring Edge that he wouldn’t say anything. A small part of the weight that had accumulated lifted from the Darai’s chest. “Oh...” he took a moment to fully take in what the other had said, then smiled, “Thank you... I really appreciate that.” He was just about to continue, saying how it was silly and he was probably overreacting, like he always did. His mind had already gathered the words and readied them on his tongue, so he could disregard himself another time. But still, it felt heavy, like lead on his tongue, weighing it down, something he was unable to overcome at the moment. So he said nothing
It was still strange being carried, Edge noted, as they approached Faolan’s apartment. Normally, he carried others, so being on the receiving end wasn’t something he was used to, and he had yet to form an opinion on it. His body had grown steadily heavier, as the exhaustion he had attempted to push down was beginning to catch up. Limbs felt weighed down with stones, and a familiar dull ache began to work its way into his bones. He was used to it, remembered it. Then he heard the buzzer, signaling that the door was unlocked. The Darai forced himself to take a deep breath. He really wished he could’ve come here in a better state and due to a more enjoyable situation.

With the door unlocked it wasn't long before Tsu was striding his way up the stairs of the apartment complex. Should Edge look at the man's head, he might have noticed that were humans ears had been, now a set of far more bestial ears twitched and swivelled, alert for the sounds of people coming down the stairs or emerging from their homes. As the werewolf passed one particular door, where there had been near incessant barking, came a sudden quiet whine. The implication of a retreating animal, tail between its legs.
Tsu smiled a little as he saw Faolan's front door ajar, glad the doctor had thought ahead. He turned sideways at the threshold, careful not to smack Edge's head or feet against walls and doorframe. This was probably the most difficult part, manoeuvring his behemoth of a frame through a doorway that he already had to duck his head under, without discomforting his passenger. But, with perhaps maybe the barest hint of Edge's toes brushing the wall, he managed it.
"We're here Fao!" He called out to announce their presence, using one foot to push the front door closed behind him. With Edge still bundled in his arms, the silvering agent made his way through to the living room, turning a now lowered, calming tone to his injured passenger. "You'll have to forgive me for all the manhandling Edge, but we're here now, Faolan will take good care of you." Then, as he stepped into the living room and laid eyes on Faolan, the werewolf flashed him a small, thankful smile. Once couldn't miss all the equipment set out and Tsu wasted no time in carefully lowering Edge to the towel-covered floor. The blanket was unfurled from him a few moments later, before the werewolf took a step back, hands in his pockets and gave the doctor space to do his work. Hellos and conversation could wait until the injured patient had been seen to. He did, however, offer his services. "Let me know if you need to me to get or do anything."

As the pair squeezed through the door frame and Tsu called out a greeting, Faolan made an appearance. The doctor was in casual clothes, sleeves rolled up and hair pulled back.
“Hey Tsu,” he called out, a slightly concerned but pleasant expression on his face - until he caught sight of the man in the werewolfs arms. A deep shock, and then an even deeper concern, flashed across his face as he recognized Edge. It hadn't crossed his mind that the patient might be someone he knew, let alone someone he knew so well. It took a moment to process, and another moment to calm his emotions. By the time Tsu placed the other down on the towel, the shock was gone, but the distress was clear in his voice even as he tried to stifle it - a little more pitchy usual.
“Oh, Edge,” He tutted, running a hand over his hair and sending the injured man a weak smile. “What did you get yourself into?” he crouched down by the other, pulling on his gloves in an instant.
He was mortified that Edge had heard Tsu and his low-level flirting at the very start of the call - he wasn't ashamed of his relationship to the werewolf at all - was quite proud of it in all honesty - but he didn't want Edge to think of him in the wrong way. Especially not when...there had always been an unspoken interest between the two of them. But it was fine. There were bigger issues to worry about, and it was not as if he wanted to keep what had happened between him and Tsu a secret. Still, he did not quite meet Edges gaze.
He glanced up as the older man spoke.
“Thanks, Tsu. Just make yourself comfortable.” He flashed the werewolf a thankful, genuine smile, knowing he was true to his word. The smile faded into a faint frown as he looked back at Edge and at the object impaled in his shoulder. It looked vaguely organic, like carapace or an exoskeleton, and he was glad he was wearing gloves as he gently inspected the bloodied area around it. “You too Edge,” he continued, “Just lay back - yes, like that.” a smile, as he pulled out antiseptic wipes. “Just tell me if it hurts too much.”
“What happened?” He queried a few moments later as he began to disinfect the base of the wound, wiping away the excess and placing the dirtied cloth to the side. Tsu's bloodied shirt, the scratches, among other things, indicated that there had been a scuffle of some sort. It was phrased lightly enough that neither man would feel pressed for information, it was just an enquiry, curious but not probing or accusatory. He was worried for both of the, though he knew Tsu’s healing and...significant strength meant he was far better off then Edge. “This is organic, right?” he motioned to the spider leg embedded in his shoulder. “Did you two get attacked?” he continued to work as he spoke with them, hoping conversation would take Edges mind off the pain, while also being curious as to what went down.

The moment Edge saw the person awaiting them as they entered the apartment, those familiar eyes, his heart sank further into his chest, becoming heavy and anxious. It felt like a dark spot that took up so much more room than he had anticipated, compressing everything and making him feel almost trapped within himself, trapped in a whirling storm of thoughts and emotions, that soon morphed into ideas about himself and the situation, as well as excuses that threatened to spill, in a desperate effort to smooth out the situation. And all this registered within a few seconds, barely more than a few breaths. More than half of it wasn’t even conscious. The punk couldn’t help but notice the expression of shock and concern flickering across Faolan’s face, no matter how briefly, and it reminded him that this was exactly what he had hoped to avoid. Making others worry had always been something Edge hated, especially when it was people he cared about.
There was no protest as Tsu lowered Edge down onto the floor, just a small thankfull, but slightly strained smile. Barely had the werewolf let go, before Edge could feel the ache make its way into his muscles, into his joints, like a bone deep cold, burrowing into him and settling in his bones, where he couldn’t reach it. It was a soreness, a heaviness that he knew he couldn’t do anything about. Other than wait it out, as he usually did.
Edge tried shrugging when Faolan asked his first question, but the movement became a clumsy, half finished thing. “Just the usual, keeping the city safe...”, he said, obviously joking, trying to lighten the mood of the situation, as was his habit. Faolan was sent a tired, but genuine smile by Edge, as he crouched down. The punk’s most recognizable expression, but not something forced. He complied with Faolan’s instructions without much of a fuss, it wasn’t that difficult, as he was already surprisingly comfortable, and even if he hadn’t been, he wouldn’t have been able to do much about it. The attentive, gentle eyes of the Darai followed Faolan’s movements as he worked, studying the wound in his shoulder and the object that had caused it. Somehow, the softness of Faolan’s touch surprised Edge, he was careful not to cause harm or discomfort, checking in every once in a while, which was something Edge deeply appreciated. It was nice to have a more positive experience with a doctor. Edge’s existence had always been a quiet one, an existence where he rarely spoke, much less about himself and rarely made others aware of his pressence, so suddenly having eyes on him like this was strange to him. He didn’t know what to do with himself, when others were fussing over his health and well-being, suddenly he felt horribly aware of his own breathing and every slight move he made. The antiseptic didn’t really hurt, or at least it was a kind of pain he was used to, a stinging, tugging sensation that didn’t last long, compared to other things he had felt. Not once did he flinch away or hiss in pain. A model patient. Or a veteran.
Then came Faolan’s next question; what happened? “Oh, uh, right...” Edge spun one of the rings in his lower lip, thinking about how to explain the entire situation, crazy as it was. He was still trying to sort it out himself, so that he might be able to form some kind of timeline. And once again, he didn’t want to distress Faolan more than possible. Edge knew he had experienced far worse than this, so there was no reason to make a huge deal out of it. “Well, I’m not entirely sure what it was all about. Tsukiko might be better at explaining that”, he paused, nodding at the werewolf, “but yeah, it was some kind of attack. I was just on my way home, and sought shelter for the rain in this run down house...” For a moment, Edge almost chuckled to himself. He really couldn’t stay out of situations like this, no matter what world he was in. “Little did I know that Tsukiko was busy brawling with some... rather pissed creatures in that very same building.” Edge sent Faolan an apologetic, sheepish smile, “I’m a real party crasher.”

“They’re called Azlu.” Tsu said, his voice low and just a touch dangerous as he spoke of the creatures, a far flung tone from his usual. “Spider-hosts. The ones you saw had already killed and taken over human hosts, consumed a great many of their lesser brethren and wreaked havoc in the area they inhabited. There’s a reason that area looked so run down and it’s not just because of human interaction, let’s put it that way. The more worrying thing is they are usually solitary, so to have banded together the way they have…” The werewolf trailed off, his brow furrowing. “I’ll be going back to investigate more later, and to return the physical-spirit barrier to what it should be, perhaps return some life to that place.” Brown eyes flickered over Edge’s injured body and while his anger did not fade, if anything it strengthened behind his gaze, his expression did shift into one of apology and protectiveness. “They wanted to consume Edge and any spiritual essence he may contain. I was not quick enough to defend him before.. well, the injuries you see now. I can only apologise for that.”
As Tsu watched Faolan work, he worked on steadying his own breathing, allowing the remnants of his battle-rage to mist in front of him with each exhale. There was nothing he could do right this second, so remaining angry would only unnerve the others in the room. His heart rate calmed and when next the werewolf spoke, it was more like the calm, composed self-assurance he was known for. The corner of his mouth lifted in a small, proud grin. “But you sure took the heat off me, distracting one of them the way you did. Doubt it thought you’d give it that much trouble, good on ya Edge.” A faint chuckle as the man ran a hand through his silvering hair. “But maybe let’s not do it again, yeah?”

Faolan continued with his work, listening attentivley to the explanations. His expression of careful, shuttered concern morphed into one of clear anxiety the more the men spoke, and a shiver ran down his spine at the dangerous, low lilt to Tsu's voice. The entire situation could have gone so wrong - it already had, as evident by the blood staining his gloves, but Edge could have died. The though made his blood run cold, and colder still as the werewolf mentioned returning to the area.
"Please be careful, Tsu." he said quitely, glancing momentarily up at the other. "I don't want to be patching you up as well. Those things sound nasty." A careful smile was directed at the older man, before he returned his gaze to Edge. His hands were deft and efficient, bandaging several smaller wounds within minutes before hovering at the base of the Azlu leg. The very thought of the creatures made him feel sick to his stomach. There were so many terrifying creatures roaming the city, which only made him all the more thankful for agents like Tsu. It was extremely unlucky that Edge had been stuck in the situation, but very, very lucky that Tsu had been there. Edge was only human, after all.
He couldn't help but faintly smile at Edge's apologetic, self-decapreacting jokes, knowing he was trying to deflect his worry. "I agree, you shouldn't do that again. Even if you were being your usual heroic self, saving the city." the young doctor kept his light tone as he pressed his fingers down around the base of the leg, bracing Edge's shoulder against the towel. He took a scalpel, cutting the leg down until only a few inches of it protruded from his shoulder. The base was stabilized with a few rolls of bandages, and once he was certain that the object was firmly cushioned, he delicatley picked up the surgical pliers, holding it out for Edge to see, and explaining every step of the way to help keep him calm.
"Now, I'm going to pull it out with these, so just take a few deep breaths..." he grasped it firmly with the surgical pliers, holding Edge's shoulder down. "It'll hurt, but only for a moment. Breathe in, breathe out..." When Edge next exhaled, Faolan pulled, removing the leg in one swift, smooth motion. He dropped it neatly on the towel, immediately applying pressure to the area - pleased at the lack of bleeding.
"Alright, there we go! Thats the worst of it done." he smiled at Edge, patting his uninjured shoulder. "It'll ache for a few days, and will likely scar, but unless theres an infection you'll be totally fine."

The Darai remained quiet as he listened to the others speak, both because he didn’t want to interrupt or bother them, but also because the deep exhaustion was really setting in, making the thought of even talking seem much more daunting than it usually was. His breath had evened out and his chest rose and feel steadily, rhythmically. Some part of him doubted he’d be able to lift his hand even if he tried. But despite his exhaustion, he was surprisingly clearheaded, and accutely aware of the different states of mind around him. The remnants of Tsukiko’s anger could still be felt in the air, like a tangible pressence, yet it was obvious that the werewolf was working on calming himself down
Gentle eyes landed on Tsu as he spoke, his head to heavy to move more than a little. These spider host, Azlu, seemed incredibly dangerous, even if he didn’t know anything about how the spiritual word and energy cycles of this world worked, or if they were even connected at all, they seemed like creatures that could wreak a lot havoc, if they were left to their own devices. If three of them were this dangerous, he didn’t want to think about what more of them could do. Still, some part if him was relived that, on top of everything that had been going on in his homeworld when he had been there, at least these creatures weren’t there as well. Some part of him couldn’t help but find it ironic, that even in another world, he managed to get mixed up in the weirdest things. Dryly, he reminded himself that hed be even more sore tomorrow.
Then as Faolan began speaking he turned his attention back to the blonde, happy, and surprisingly relieved to see that Faolan returned the smile, even if he did so faintly. “... Aww come on,”, Edge managed to say, his voice more quiet now, that horrible exhaustion beginning to show in it, a tried, but warm smile graced his lips as he spoke, “I suppose... when both an azlu expert and a doctor say it, I should try to keep away from... massive, angry spider-hosts...” Not once while Faolan worked, did the Darai flinch away, even if he didn’t have the best past experiences with doctors, he knew that Faolan was different, and the situation was different. Faolan knew what he was treating, and Edge held onto his belief that the blonde would never deliberately hurt him. The gentle touches and words of reassurance proved that time and time again. Edge tried his best to be a good patient, sending Faolan a thankful nod, to prove that he understood, before closing his eyes and breathing deeply, preparing himself for the pain to come, focusing on Faolan’s hand on his shoulder and on his instructions, instead of the azlu leg.
Like ripping off a bandaid, the leg was out before the Darai even registered that Faolan had begun pulling it. There was a sudden, sharp stab of pain, filling the void the leg left in his shoulder, but it was localized, stayed concentrated around the wound, instead of spreading out in his body. Then Faolan was applying pressure to the wound and Edge strangled a delayed groan of pain with surprising efficiency. Instead it morphed into an exhale, a soft “ow” and brows furrowing for a few seconds, nothing more.
When he opened his eyes again, a task which was becoming increasingly difficult, Faolan was patting his uninjured shoulder, smiling and telling him that he would be okay. “I think I can live with a scar or two...” he chuckled a little, a tired, but thankful smile on his lips, “Thank you, Faolan... sorry you had to patch me up like this...”

Tsu chuckled at Faolan's concern, handsome features lighting up with an easy humour. "I'll do my best, but I can't promise, potential injury comes with the territory, but I heal fast." A small flash of white teeth as the werewolf's smile widened, "Sometimes it's a bit of a shame, means I don't get to experience pleasant medical bedside manner."
He quieted after that, watching carefully as Faolan set about the task of removing the Azlu's leg. Just the sight of it made him want to growl, but Tsu remained still and silent during the whole affair. It was only after Edge's final apology that the werewolf came to crouch beside the injured young man and finally spoke up again. "You needn't apologise Edge," the silvering agent said gently, his tone almost fatherly in his careful guidance, "it wasn't your fault and friend's help each other." Over his shoulder, Tsu gave the doctor a grateful look, before returning his attention to Edge. "Speaking of, when Faolan's all done and you're feeling a little stronger, I'll be sure to drive you home." He gave the Darai a wink, "No way of you accidentally wandering into dangerous buildings that way."
Depending on how well Edge seemed over the next half an hour or so, Tsu even wondered if he would offer to have the young man stay with him, just until he was sure he was recovering well.
