“Ah’m sure we are lad.” Raine replied, leaping nimbly down from Sarkany and stretching. In light of their mission, he had rather firmly set aside any panic from recognising… well, their ride. “This place has a secretive air about it, no doubt. Let’s hope whoever has captured our friend trusts in its remote location.”
He strode forward himself, nodding at Taconin as he passed even with Ari, and then continued forward. It was not much of a road, a track barely wide enough for traffic. But the turned stones at least showed it was frequently used. Uneasy, he progressed up the road wondering what had befallen his oldest friend. A secret road in the middle of nowhere made for bad movie drama... and could also reflect a well financed organisation as Sarkany had been afraid of. With all the structure and precautions that entailed, he could expect anything from hidden cameras to roving sentries. He stopped ahead at the first curve, waiting for the rest of the group to catch up. In this day and age he could no longer charge single handed to the rescue.

Viktoria's keen vision detected the point of interest as Sarkany passed over it, the telltale glint of a man-made metallic structure hidden amongst the rocks below. Her brows furrowed, though she didn't have much time to dwell on the implications of said structure as not long after Taconin began his descent. Unease churned in her gut as she quickly caught sight of the gravel track leading off the main road, no doubt the source of the smaller creature's interest; considering the circumstances surrounding Marchelute's disappearance, the hidden metal structure and now this track, it reminded her uncomfortably of a situation Sarkany and herself had found themselves in not too long ago.
When the seraph landed, Viktoria was a little less abrupt with her dismount than on previous rides - she found even though she didn't necessarily like Sarkany's particular mode of travel, she was at least becoming accustomed to it. Ari, on the other hand, was all to eager to vacate and set off along the path driven, she guessed, by an overwhelming desire to save the demon. Before the large feline set off after him and Raine, she spoke to Sarkany in his growl-filled language. [Am not liking... feels like... last time.] She would wait for a response before making her way after their other companions, stopping once she reached Ari to give him a firm, but friendly, pat on the shoulder. "Iz harrrd but.. iz perrhaps good if can be patient. Ve arre no good to Marrch..el..ute if arre caught, da?" Viktoria then turned her gaze to the track as it wound its way further through the landscape. Her skin prickled with an instinctive awareness of the danger that likely lay ahead, which made her wish to take point if nothing more than because she knew nothing of the combat capabilities of most of her companions, but was well acquainted with her own and did not want to jeopardise the mission she now had.
Old habits die hard.
Instead, she managed to bury her in-built desires for at least a moment and addressed the group in a lowered tone, "Ve arre to be stealthy, da? Perrhaps iz good to, ah.. not valk along rrroad?" She indicated the undergrowth at the side of the track, "Less rrrisk of being spotted. Since, ah.. ve arre knowing not vhat.. equipment zhey arre hyaving."

Sarkany turned at the sound of Viktoria's growls, mouth slanted in silent, reluctant agreement. Normally he might have responded with something to lighten the mood - made a competitive jab, even. But ironically, the humanoid was better suited to his language than Sarkany himself in his current shape, and he was unable to respond in kind. Knowing she wouldn't understand the human dialect, he managed a low huff that, while lacking articulate wording in the hunter's speech, meant something like "comfort." Calm.
He felt anything but, seeing Ari half-start down the road without so much as a pause to check who or what might be waiting. Suppressing his irritation at the youth's haste, he joined the group at the uncertain mouth of the path. It was not the cat's fault that Sarkany was used to the silent, coordinated understanding of the Guard. And he certainly couldn't be blamed for worrying. He repeated these thoughts to himself as he listened, forcing a sense of focused serenity.
"As to that," he murmured at Viktoria's words, and the air seemed to thrum about his hands as he began to summon the commands to mind. "I can't hide us all, but I can manage, hmm, maybe three - myself included." He indicated his stark grey hair with a somewhat rueful smile.
The cat, he was fairly sure, had some redirection skills of his own. And the pup could likely make itself as inconspicuous as it wanted. Still, it never hurt to ask. Allowing them to decide among themselves, he applied the first command to himself. He felt the beginnings of fuzziness to his thoughts at that small effort and knew he would have to pace himself from here on. His earlier use of Aht had been costly - damn that agent.
"Sajk kaa," he cursed the man under his breath, and looked up to see the group's decision. He applied the command to each of the chosen companions in turn. To the uninformed, it would have looked as though nothing had changed at all, so he explained as he worked:
"Rul, for flesh. Wis, to make it...indistinct. Stand still, avoid eye contact, and sentries should overlook you. It's useless once they know you're there, and cameras will still pick you up, so try not to stand somewhere obvious."
Satisfied with his handiwork, he stepped back and glanced down the dark pathway. This small element of surprise was likely as much of an advantage as they were going to get. Perhaps he should have been anxious. Instead, the overwhelming feeling was one of odd déjà vu.
"Well," he said softly. "No sense waiting."

Deciding to investigate the access road, the group pressed onward under cover of darkness and spell to conceal their approach.
The road was narrow - a single lane just wide enough to take at most a van, or perhaps a small truck if driven with great care. It was unlit, unmarked in any way. One might even say abandoned, except for the minor detail that all the surrounding shrubbery and clumps of mountain grasses were neatly pruned at the edges. There was little overgrowth to impede a vehicle, and though not paved with cement, the gravel and stone had been worn flat and even.
Like a serpent, the road snaked its way up, around and into the mountain.
By the second bend, the narrow track was so far recessed and hidden into the terrain that the dark strip of highway the group knew lay below them existed only in memory. One could almost forget their bearings, if not for the distant wash of ocean waves and gusts of salty breeze to remind them of the coast. Aside from the wind and the calls of wildlife, and their own footsteps, the road was silent. No sign of impending attack, and no rumble of engines to give away an approaching vehicle.
The winding path led them at length around to the mountain's eastern face, and there ahead at last was a gleam of light.
Illuminated by the glare of floodlights was a security checkpoint, of the kind that one may expect to see protecting military property from wandering trespassers. The road was blocked by a high metal gate topped with curls of razorwire. Connecting fences retreated into the foliage and cliffs until they were out of sight, but presumably continued for quite a distance to mark the property's edges.
A small structure sat just to the right side of the road, inside which could be seen a man in a black and green uniform. He seemed to be focused on something at his desk, attention fixated down and away from the window. Just above the station's window, a single camera cast its gaze upon the gate and a chunk of the approaching road, swinging slow arcs back and forth.
Pacing idly in front of the gate itself was a second uniformed man. This one carried a rifle, and was whistling to himself a slightly off-key rendition of a TV game show theme.
Neither guard seems to take notice of their approaching guests, at least not yet...

[Later OOC edit: Raine quietly suggested to Ari and Taco finding a less obvious way around. He will be absolutely dumbfounded by the ensuing assault, but will jump in to give aid in the unlikely event it becomes needed]
Raine had no faith in the strange man’s magic – these things had never worked for him, after all – so kept to the side of the road with Ari, and tread quietly as it wound its way into the mountain. It was a long enough road that he started feeling rather exhausted by the time they stopped, silently cursing the timing that took him away from supper. He didn’t question that it was needed, though, nor which direction Ari was leading them in. And when they reached the checkpoint, he wished that the Cult of Fire were still around to supply a force of arms.
After rounding the corner and seeing it, Raine hissed to the group that he was getting a closer look, and dropped into the forest litter at the roadside. It had been a while since he had belly-crawled to a checkpoint (Sudan? The Boxer rebellion?), but he at least remembered where to stop so as not to be picked out by the lights. With the surrounding forest not cut back, the floodlights were more of a hindrance than help to the long-range vision of the guards.
The checkpoint itself was professional, a tall gate of chain topped with razor wire. It’s presence alone spoke volumes about what was hiding in the shadow of the mountain. The guards were in uniforms that were carefully bland, the kind that more professional security forces use. The weapons were equally professional, and likely capable of inflicting wounds even on him.
Raine had a sudden desire for his sword. Not his sword cane that he had left back in the manor. The Roman style Spartha, a yard of solid cold steel that he had put down in a trench somewhere in the Great War and never returned to collect… pointless really. He could quickly kill the man on the road, but the one in the guard box probably had an alarm. Even if he didn’t hit it, there was arguably a security camera somewhere.
No, this wasn’t time for any heroics, and killing people in general was a bad idea in this century. He backed carefully from his vantage point, and almost yelped aloud when he realised Ari had followed him towards the gate. Biting down on any reprimand (After all, if he hadn’t heard him following the guards wouldn’t have either) he simply reported his observations in a hushed done while watching the gate.
“There only seem to be two. Ah dunnae like the guns they have, and if tha’ box guard does’na have a call button, ah would be shocked. We may want ta go around, and make our own gate out of sight.”

[ Ari is willing to follow whatever Raine wants to do. Taco will also follow the group, after he contacts Bruse. ]
Ari flinched when Viktoria stopped him, looking up at her in startled confusion. "What...? Ah. Y-You're right. But... But he's calling me, I have to..."
The shifter swayed a moment, frowning to himself as he fought the draw to move onward. After a moment the young man seemed to slump with a sigh, moving to stay near Viktoria and Sarkany. When the latter offered to use magic to hide them, he shook his head. "I can... I know how to make myself invisible. Or as good as... Ah, let me..."
He sighed again and focused, murmuring the key to his own spell under his breath. He drew wind to himself, air to muffle footsteps, muffle the sounds he made. He drew shadow, obfuscating his form, making him hard to look at, making the eyes want to slide past him. It would affect his companions too, but hopefully that wouldn't cause them any problems. "I'm ready, we can... we can keep going," his voice was soft and muffled by the magic, but hopefully audible to his friends all the same. "I'd ah, I'd rather... avoid confrontation if-if we can. So um. Can we go around?"
For his part, Taconin continued along, his head held high and dark eyes wide and alert. While alert, the demon didn't seem too concerned about being caught, but when the others took measures to hide themselves he did the same. His pale hide darkened and seemed t smudge at the edges, blending into the surrounding darkness.
Abruptly, his head jerked to the side, spines raising along his back. He felt something, sensed something. His thoughts quested out toward it - farther than he originally thought, but he found the thing eventually. His thoughts felt out the shape - a familiar shape, and as he realized this his spines resettled against his back. The Bruse? Are you awake? We are hunting Father. He is gone, but we will find him. Would you like to help us?

[[OOC - Bruse is just now arriving, so this would be just after Raine makes his suggestion to go around. Basically Bruse is none the wiser on what's going on, and will more than likely follow if the group begins to move on. Some cues to Bruse's presence, for those who cannot see spirits, would be as mentioned: Cold air, heightened feelings of anxiety or concern, hair standing on end, and perhaps a "static" feeling in the air. Just in case other OCs take notice.]]
Night had set, and following below the group soaring above was a rush of wind, an invisible force that passed silently through the trees keeping an easy pace. It had begun to follow them shortly after they had taken off, spotting them from below and tracking their path out of simple curiosity. The familiar shape of Sarkany's true form is what initially drew its attention, and though there was no intention to interfere, it had taken chase closer to the ground after them at least until Sarkany had begun his decent.
It was then that Bruse had slowed his pace, allowing the shape to pull away at least by a mile or two. He touched down among the trees, a calm rush from his halt tussled the leaves of nearby bushes just a bit. Losing interest, he made to wander off in search of something else to do, his curiosity sated for now. The large spirit was about to take off into another direction, to continue his flight through the woods, perhaps explore for a bit. For now he was in a lighthearted mood, simply wanting to enjoy the rocky peaks and shadowed forest, the sound of the distant ocean waves washing somewhere off in the night mixed with the buzz of cars as they raced intermittently across a nearby highway.
It wasn't too long after Bruse had broken off his curious chase of Sarkany to journey somewhere else than a faint message reached his attention before he departed, a message that was neither audible or physical but mental. A child's voice in his mind, the brush of a dark but innocent conscious, and it spoke to him from somewhere in the direction that he had seen Sarkany descend. The voice was familiar, a young shadow creature of the name Taconin, and the child's words greatly alarmed the spirit. The Bruse? Are you awake? We are hunting Father. He is gone, but we will find him. Would you like to help us?
Father...Marchelute.
Bruse leapt quickly in the direction of the voice. In mere moments, he arrived in a gust of cold air, brushing past the group to stop in the road beside them that they were following. Up ahead, he noticed that there was some sort of structure, bright with floodlights and what looked like security gaurds. Looking back to the group, he then caught sight of not just Sarkany, but Viktoria, Ari whom he'd met before upon helping Marchelute in the past, and Taconin. Another man was with them as well, who he vaguely remembered, but overall was unfamiliar. Why were they all here? Something didn't feel right.
Little one. Bruse communicated, looking down to Taconin. I am here. What is happening? Where is Marchelute? You are in danger, he would not approve. The words were shared inaudibly, a returned mental message. Although Bruse knew that the youngling was more than likely capable of survival and fending for himself, Bruse was more concerned with his discovery by these unknown human sentries. All of them were currently running the risk of getting caught, did they not see the weaponry and security measures ahead? Were they out of their minds? But then, Taconin mentioned helping Marchelute. Was he captured by these humans? They did not seem like any normal military or police force typical of the humans of Wathais. Even the road seemed hidden, as if whoever or whatever went on within the compound ahead was more than likely kept tightly secret from public knowledge. Marchelute in the hands of some secret organization did not seem like the best of scenarios. Not in the slightest. Questions like these circled Bruse's mind in a torrent, and he then turned his attention to Viktoria and Sarkany. More than likely they would not see him, but if any of them felt his presence, it would be an anxious, questioning energy, tingling and static in nature that would make hairs stand on end. He would help them, and whatever trouble Marchelute was in, Bruse would see to it that he was at least located. Despite being a demon, Marchelute was still a friend.

[OOC: Viktoria will try to incapacitate the guard in the guard hut >:3]
While Viktoria heard Ari’s words, felt the presence of Bruse by the prickling of her skin and - in some fashion at least - mentally acknowledged them, she was too focused on the task ahead to be diverted. She understood Ari’s wish to go around, in another situation she might have agreed with him and followed suit. But there was a difference between patience and wasting time; with Marchelute captured and being tortured or otherwise in pain (at least according to the cat-boy’s connection, which considering his current agitated state she was inclined to believe), they did not have time to waste trying to find another entrance, or risk being caught - even electrocuted - attempting to cut through the fence. The humanoid knew all too well the terrible things that could be done to a person in a place like this. Bitter, personal experience on both sides of that coin provided a certain kind of insight to her. Not to mention, they had no idea what kind of state the large demon was going to be in, if this was the only route out of the compound, she would rather it remain clear.
The large feline made the smallest of growling sounds, articulating only a couple of words to Sarkany. [Get guard.] She hoped the seraph would understand. Viktoria was aware that, of everyone in the group, her companion would be the least likely to try to stop her. Without making eye contact with anyone else, the humanoid slowly melted into the forest, tracking a similar route through the foliage as Raine had previously, though slightly more to the side than he. She kept very low, practically crawling on all-fours, until she could see guard hut and accompanying floodlights through the leaves. The guard within the hut was visible from her location, staring pointedly down at something on the desk. Unfortunately, the window sported a pane of glass, so there would be no straightforward vaulting through the window.
She held still in the undergrowth, eyes darting between the camera and the patrolling guard. Watching. Waiting. When the camera began another lethargic arc towards the gate, away from her line of trajectory, and the guard had turned his back on the small building, that was when Viktoria made her move. Silent, quick, low to the ground she moved across the open space like a predator, coming to a halt only when she was crouched underneath the camera, with her back pressed up against the wall of the hut beneath the window. She froze again now, looking not directly at the patrolling guard but keeping him in her peripheral vision. She trusted Sarkany’s abilities, hoped now that his magic would keep her hidden.
If successful, when the patrolling guard once more turned away from her, the humanoid would carefully make her way around the hut until she reached the door, keeping a close eye on the camera the entire time so she could remain out of sight; while she wanted to disable it, having a security camera suddenly go dark was a surefire way to garner unwanted attention. Once beside the door, she reached up, took hold of the handle and slowly, gently tried to open it. She aimed to make as little sound as possible and, if the door did indeed open, she would slip her way inside, stand and quietly close the door again behind herself. As soon as the latch clicked shut she would lunge for the guard hopefully before he turned to notice her, making no sound - no snarls or growls or even speech - while she looped a thick-set, heavily muscled arm around his neck and applied swift, sharp pressure while grabbing her own wrist with her free hand.
[OOC: Basically she’ll attempt a blood choke to try to knock him out quickly, let’s hope this doesn’t go completely wrong! XD]

[OOC: Sarkany approaches the checkpoint from the opposite side to disable the guard Viktoria left. Aims spell-enhanced stones at the man's thoat (first shot), head (second shot), and knee (last shot if the other two failed to incapacitate). ]
[ Get guard.]
Yellow eyes flickered sideways at the guttural growl. Sarkany nodded imperceptibly and watched as the humanoid faded into the trees, noting her pace and trajectory. Her grey form was only just visible through the underbrush, even disregarding the command. Smiling, he let a few moments pass, watching the rotation of the camera and the slow footsteps of the near sentry. Then he too peeled off from the group, working his way toward the gate in an opposing arc to Viktoria. In contrast to the humanoid's approach, he moved at an idling stroll, largely unconcerned with cover. Whenever the sentry began to turn his way, Sarkany simply stopped wherever he was to regard the ground with almost listless disinterest - noting the quietest route as he did so. Sound, after all, still mattered.
He sank to a crouch mere yards from the gate, one hand to the ground. The soil was cool between his fingers; pebbles smooth as he rolled them into his palm. He wanted three at least - one for the camera, two for the glass and guard. The last part could be tricky, if the man was quick on the uptake. Viktoria hadn't specified which one she would tackle, but he hoped - there. Perfect.
Through his peripherals he saw the sentry turn toward him again, saw a familiar grey form slide from the trees and around the booth to the door. Grateful for Viktoria's choice of target, he readied the stones in hand and waited for her signal. The instant he saw her lunge, Sarkany let fly the first stone, leading the throw with the faintest mutter of "Hwar."
As it sailed toward the throat of the patrolling sentry, the pebble seemed to behave strangely. It leapt almost eagerly from Sarkany's hand, unnaturally quick for the throw, which had favored accuracy over velocity. Conversely, when it made contact with its target, intended or otherwise, it seemed to fall in slow motion - almost drifting back to the forest floor.
Sarkany took no chances. He aimed the next stone at the man's head, regardless of whether or not the first hit its mark. The third, if both should miss, would be aimed in a noticeably more violent throw at the man's knee, toppling the mark into the underbrush where he might be subdued the old fashioned way.

( Trying a different layout for writing these posts. I'm slowly getting a feel for posting to this "campaign" segment, but apologies if the changing format confuses anyone. Feedback on how this is being run is appreciated, and will help in the running of official events in the future <3 )
This Round...
Raine scouted out the checkpoint, but remained hidden and suggested the group try finding a way around to avoid a confrontation.
Ari stuck close to Raine, preferring stealth over possible combat.
Taconin reached out via thought to call upon the aid his ghostly friend, Bruse, for help in locating the missing - presumed captive - demon.
Bruse caught up to the group at the checkpoint, and remained unseen by the guards thanks to his spiritual nature.
The security camera continued its slow, repetitive arcs. The silence of any would-be alarms seemed to indicate that they had yet remained unnoticed, outside of its field of view.
Viktoria crept up on the guard inside the small checkpoint building, managing to stay within the camera's blind spots as she went. With the aid of Sarkany's abilities, the patrolling guard remained perfectly oblivious to the danger stalking his colleague, his gaze simply sliding away from the space she occupied. Upon moving around to the back of the small structure, Viktoria found that to her benefit, the door had been left unlocked. However, in the silence of the evening, the sound of the door latch was enough to draw the seated guard's attention. He had just completed logging in to the system for the start of his shift when the door behind him clicked shut. He turned, a question of who and why dying in his throat at the sight of the large, muscular figure lunging for him. Though he was able to avoid the attempted choke-hold, in the confined space, he could not avoid a grapple. Pinned between the powerful humanoid and his desk, he tried to make a grab for his sidearm while fighting to keep Viktoria from getting a grip around his neck. Behind him, partially concealed on the underside of the desk, was a silent alarm switch. If he could just reach it! "Breach! Breach!" the man shouted, trusting that he would soon be hearing his partner's rifle.
Sarkany approached the checkpoint from the opposite side. Fortunately, the floodlights of the gate cast hard shadows, and helped conceal him from the camera's unblinking eye as he walked. The patrolling guard barely paused in his leisurely pacing, only acknowledging a brief chill of wind with a slight adjustment to his coat. Abruptly, a shout rang out from the booth. "Breach!" The guard turned, causing Sarkany's first throw to miss by a wide margin. The guard saw the hulking grey form in the station window grappling with his colleague, drew his rifle level with its head, and-- promptly fell to the ground like a sack of bricks, as Sarkany's second throw struck him squarely and with force in the back of the head. The third stone was unnecessary, as the man was unconscious before he even hit the pavement.
Now...
One guard is disabled, but the other is still fighting! The camera is still functional, and the gate is still closed. No alarms sound, and there is no sign of reinforcements. How will the rescuers proceed?

[ OOC: Ari is staying the hell away from the guardpost and watching from the sidelines until things are safe. Taconin, however, is getting right up in the middle of things. ]
Ari flinched a little when Viktoria growled, and the 'words' she spoke wer unfamiliar to him, not a language he knew. He watched as she stalked away from him, then hissed when he realized what she was doing, heading straight for the patrol station! He wanted to call out, to tell her to stop - that would only end badly! But he couldn't, couldn't do anything. Calling out would call attention to them, to himself. And he couldn't physically stop her even if he tried - she was too big, too strong. He already saw Sarkany moving toward the gate as well and he fidgeted, then backed away.
Nothing he could do to stop either of them, and like as not Raine would follow suit. He didn't want this, didn't want to fight the guards, wanted a safer, quieter path. But he wouldn't leave them to find one, either. Couldn't leave them. He shivered uncomfortably as a chill ran down his spine - a premonition? Something bad about to happen? He crouched miserably in the brush at the side of the path to wait and watch while things were safe. At least the kid was still with him...
For his part, Taconin was more intent on conversing with Bruse than paying attention to his companions. They could take care of themselves, after all, but Bruse needed information. Father disappeared. That one disappeared too, but he came back, the demon indicated Ari with a slight twitch of his tail. That one feels Father is in danger, because they are linked. He feels father is injured. He is afraid, but I can't eat that, because he is Father's mate. Taconin lifted his narrow head, his jaws parting slightly as he looked up at the Bruse. These ones cannot hurt me, and if Father is in danger, then I must help. He is my Father.
The demon's attention shifted slightly, his posture growing more tense. Abruptly he realized things were happening, over by the patrol station. One of the men fell to the ground abruptly and the other... the other... He's afraid.
Before Bruse could do anything about it, Taconin bolted - a darker streak against the dark road. He shot past the fallen man and Sarkany with his stones and struck the door of the checkpoint building. But instead of stopping there, the demon's form almost seemed to melt. The ring slipped from his fingers as they seeped under the door - physical, not an integrated part of himself, it would not fit under the crack there. Within a few moments, Taconin's bestial form loomed up behind Viktoria in the small room, his toothy maw agape as he made himself into the guard's worst nightmare and drank in the terror oozing off of the man.

[[OOC - Oops, sorry forgot to add this ^_^'. Bruse attempts to stall the cameras through some kind of focused ghostly intervention. If you'd like outcomes to roll for, usually the results of such an attempt can vary: Cameras blur or static, camera mechanisms cease to work or turn, electrical surge (which could affect other things maybe???), manifestation appearing on the screen, or....nothing at all. With electronics, it's rather hard to manipulate for a spirit. Have fun, and I don't mind any added ideas for outcomes that I might not've thought of, I just figured these suggestions would help ]] The others seemed to have their plans already playing out, despite Bruse's confusion. He watched, stunned, as Viktoria and Sarkany both made their way towards the gate, beginning their infiltration of the guardhouse as each chose to subdue a guard. They really were crazy... Ari seemed reluctant to help,, the red haired man had his own plans, and Taconin was now speaking to Bruse intently, drawing the spirit's attention back again. Father disappeared. That one disappeared too, but he came back. That one feels Father is in danger, because they are linked. He feels father is injured. He is afraid, but I can't eat that, because he is Father's mate. These ones cannot hurt me, and if Father is in danger, then I must help. He is my father. " I know that, little one, but-" Before Bruse could finish his sentence, Taconin suddenly became tense, focusing on the scuffle in the guardhouse. In a flash, he was gone, a shadow sprinting across the dark road until he had melted his way into the guardhouse, rising up and over the struggling man and Vik. Bruse could literally see the man's terrified aura drawing its way up and into the mouth of the child-turned-monster. Bruse bounded after Taconin, intent on stopping him, at least until he noticed the camera above, threatening to make its slow arc back towards the attacking group. Bruse growled to himself and drifted up level with the camera. Focusing his energy, he reached out to the mechanism and put effort into moving it, disrupting it, causing it to malfunction, anything. When dealing with human electronics, Bruse never knew exactly what effect his energy would have, especially when it was focused. Even when he wasn't intentionally trying to interfere with technology, he would sometimes cause video or audio anomalies, or simply cause the object to malfunction. He only hoped his effort would buy the others enough time to finish their task, and move on to find Marchelute, wherever he may be.

OOC: Raine plays dodge the camera and goes to support Viktoria. Really hope that was an open window… and if not, really hope Vik doesn’t mind a bit of glass.
Raine was aghast when Sarkey attacked, and Viktoria burst around the guardhouse to attack the guard inside. They were trying to do this quietly, right? But hesitation quickly vanished (Although the icy cold chills going up and down his spine persisted). If the ball starts rolling, the only thing you can do is keep ahead of it.
Sarky’s guard was quickly unconscious, but Viktoria had not quite managed to sneak up cleanly. She had a solid grip, but not quite the choke hold she would have wanted. The guard was struggling, and even though the outcome was not in any doubt he was certainly going to try for an alarm button somewhere.
Raine spared a quick glance up at the camera, and then broke into a run towards and along the gate, not even noticing the flash of darkness as Taconin went by him. Hopefully he timed things to remain unseen, as he ran straight at the guard post window. For once he actually was thankful of his small size as he dove directly through the window, reaching to press hands on the throat of the guard. A little bit of cold pressure on those carotid arteries should put him out like a light.

[OOC: Sarky drags the unconscious guard out of the camera's view path. Secures the man with his own ID neck chain, steals the ID, uniform, and rifle, and leaves him in a bramble patch a good way away from the gate.]
As the downed man dropped, Sarkany darted forward, keenly aware of the returning arc of the camera. He seized the sentry by the vest and hauled him clear of the gate and out of view. Perhaps his efforts were wasted, for he saw the dim shapes of Raine and the demon pup streak toward the guardhouse and camera with no particular care or timing. He winced slightly, but continued with the task at hand.
The sounds of the scuffle faded as Sarkany dragged the man some distance off into the woods. He rolled the limp shape over with one foot, smiling as he saw the pale outline of an ID against the man's hip.
"Hello," he said, yanking it smartly from the holder and tucking it into his own pocket. An unintended prize. He'd been after the holder string.
While not ideal by any means, the thing was made of braided cord, thick and reasonably sturdy. After stripping the man of uniform and rifle, he used the string to secure the sentry's hands behind his back, taking no particular care to ensure the man's comfort when he woke. Satisfied, Sarkany rolled the man into the nearest briar patch, pausing now and then to listen for any signs of an alarm or struggle in the distance. It might not be the cleanest solution, but it would at least be a hindrance to the sentry and a distraction to any reinforcements that came looking for him. And besides - there was no sport in killing a downed man.
Once the sentry was hidden away and thoroughly snarled in the brambles, Sarkany brushed off his scraped palms and loped back towards the group with his stolen equipment. Every detail might be a help when it came to illusions.

[OOC: Viktoria will attempt to heft the guard away from the panic button he is so keen on pressing - quite probably involving a punch to the face - quickly realise a guard would have come through the door not the window and so tries to position the guard in a way that gives Raine an easier job of subduing him.]
Viktoria inwardly cursed the noisiness of mechanical latch doors; despite only being the smallest of sounds, it had been enough to grab the guard’s attention and now she was stuck in an, admittedly one-sided considering her size, grapple with the man she had hoped to subdue quickly and quietly. She saw him make a grab for his sidearm but, more importantly, he seemed to be desperately reaching behind himself, under the desk. Viktoria had encountered enough guards and executives with panic buttons to guess what he was reaching for.
Then he began to yell.
With no sign of emotion save an irritated narrowing of her pupils, the large humanoid changed tactics from an attempted chokehold to a quick, sharp jab at his face in a bid to make him struggle less; Her fists were large and powerful, she knew a direct hit would at least stun him long enough for her to get a grip on him. If she were lucky, it might even knock him out cold then and there. If not, Viktoria went for a bear hug, with her aim to simply lift the man away from his desk and thus his chance at exposing the group.
It was at around this time a loud shattering of glass heralded Raine’s arrival. Before she had even looked his way, she guessed it must be one of her group, not another guard, since a second guard alerted by this man’s yelling would have likely come through the door and yelled for her to release him or some such. That was good, it meant Sarkany had done his job well and taken out the armed reinforcement. A quick flick of her gaze cemented her theory and with a twist of her body she tried to position the guard so that he faced Raine. Whatever Raine had planned for knocking out the guard, she wanted to give him the easiest time to be able to do so.
