In Quality Documentation: This large office has many cubicles. The lights here are bright yellow and intensify the aggressively beige cast of the walls. Cubicles are arranged within this room. Four are placed in the central area, and three are arranged to the north and to the south. Vegas moves to the Southern portion of the room to investigate the cubicles there. To the East of her position, she sees faint blood streaking on the floor, which then tracked around the corner and behind the middle cubicles. This cubicle Vegas investigates has several clipboards filled with what appears to have been some experimental data waiting to be input into the computer. There are ornamental plants on this desk. A note reads: “Mixture 131- An experimental mixture. We believe it may counter the effects of Alpha-2”Vegas also finds a Stuffed Cat Toy. It has a heartbeat when squeezed. Nagi investigates the cubicle next to Vegas. This cubical has a bright yellow sign stuck to the wall that says, “Keep Going.” The desk appears to be empty, and the chair is pushed in. This cubicle has several notes on the wall breaking up the series of what seem to be family photos. 1. Ask the CEO if I have a new assignment. 2. What is R and D working on upstairs? 3. Electrical malfunctions Faith investigates the cubicle to the Northwest. This neat cubical has a stapler, and several jars filled with paperclips. On the desktop was a keycard: “Tim Baker: Security.” Jonny investigates the cubicle next to Faith. This cubicle is decorated with large posters of anime girls in suggestive poses. There is a single figurine sitting on the desk of a woman in a bikini, posed seductively. An energy drink labeled ‘Lizard Colada’ sits on this desk. Malvin investigates the last cubicle. This cubicle has a bright pink chair, and binders. There is a large, dark patch that looks like mold on the floor on the Eastern wall of the cubicle, which spread to the middle of the Eastern wall of this room. A note on the desk reads: Food has many useful properties. You should consider that when you decide where to dispose of it, and if you take it with you on your journey. On the desk he finds a metal butter-knife laid down next to plastic cutlery. In the Lounge: Strid feels the thing behind the door rattle the doorknob more violently. At first, it pulls and pushes at random, but eventually it turns the handle and then begins to pull inward more forcefully. As strong as he is, whatever this creature is must be either much larger than a human, or simply more muscular by its very nature. For now, his sweater holds. Attachments:

[OOC: Strid continues to hold the door and tells the others to hurry. Prepares to bail.]
"Oh shit."
Strid shifted his grip as it slipped and pressed his knee into the sofa for extra bracing. The thing, whatever it was, was stronger than he was. If it came down to a fight for the door he wasn't confident he'd actually win.
And now they were contagious? Just great.
"Hey," Strid shouted. "If you all want to hurry the hell up, I don't think I can hold this much longer!"
If this thing came through the door he was bailing, and the others had better be quick behind him.

The keycard area in Security turns green, and the door opens.
Security:
This large room is lit by circular lights in the ceiling, giving the room and yellow cast. The walls are a sterile-looking beige.
Directly across from the door into this room is a tall greyish desk, facing the door. It is apparently deserted. The office chair behind the desk appears unremarkable.
To the north is a small, enclosed space with a desk and chair, and a semicircular array of active feeds from monitors, visible from where she currently stands.

(Jonny helps Strid and isn't happy about it)
Jonny shoved the soda into his hoodie, still brandishing the scissors as he walked after Faith as she left. She seemed to at least be acting like she knew what she was doing, and, honestly, he kind of wanted to be near someone that maybe had a plan. He stopped outside of security. The big guy was still pushing at the couch... He was strong, but Jonny wasn't sure if the guy could hold it off.
What was the plan here? What was the goal? If the big guy lost his grip, the thing would be out, and then what? They'd hide?
But The Thing Was Right There.
Jonny was frozen for a moment before adding his weight to the couch.
"This is stupid, dumb dumb dumb dumb..." Jonny hissed under his breath.

[OOC: Vegas moves on with her frantic search, trashing the next available cubicle, trying not to look at the blood on the ground ... or where it leads. She then peeks because she's afraid there's a monster at the end.]
“Blood! There’s blood!" Vegas looked away, instead focusing on the cubicle. How did that creature get into a locked room? Where'd it take the body?
Mal said, “Death mold over here… Hey do you still have the water?”
“It’s in the other office. Why?” No weapons, no functioning cell phones, but she did find a message.
Mal: “Got a note here says food is important, has useful properties and we should bring em on our journey. Sounds like it fell out of a DnD nerd’s bag but it’s been a weird night.”
Vegas: “This note says I have an antidote to early infection. Don’t know how much works, or how it’s administered, though.”
Mal: “If we get infected, we’ll have to try every way. It’s better than nothing. Is anyone a doctor? Or nurse?”
Vegas: “I’m certified in CPR, but that’s it, Sugar.”
“I’ll take it.” Malvin winked. Somehow, Vegas doubted that he'd enjoy the rib damage, but it was a decent attempt at a come-on.
Nagi: "Don't look at me, I'm a trauma therapist. And I have no idea how to cope with monsters and science gone wrong, so best I got is maybe holding your hand."
Vegas uttered a panicked laugh. “Are you taking new clients?”
Malvin smiled widely at Nagi. “I’ll take that too.”
Nagi: "Assuming we get out of this, I'll even give you a discount, miss. Call it the 'shared trauma' deluxe package."
Mal: “Can I have a package?”
Nagi: "Buy me a drink and we'll talk, sweetheart."
Mal: “Definitely, if we don’t grow extra arms I’ll hold you to that.”
Nagi: "Can hold me to a lot of things~"
Malvin went red and made a small choking noise “ Cool… cool. We should probably focus on survival…”
Amusing. So the young man could dish it out, but he blushed like a maiden when somebody returned the volley. He was probably single, all things considered. A pity. It meant nobody was waiting up for him. Nobody would call for help when he failed to return home. Were they all loners? Seemed like it. Was that a coincidence? Probably. Had to be.
Vegas moved on to the next cubicle, searching. Her eyes flicked down, seeking the end of the blood trail.

((Malvin takes the butter knife. Then searches a central cubicle.))
Malvin took the butter knife. It was better than nothing. He didn’t like the black mold, not even a little he backed away to check one of the central cubicles. He had a bad feeling it wasn’t good to be close to it. What if it was already too late and he was infected? He patted his side for growing hands.

[OOC: Faith is disappointed but decides to watch the monitors and loot anything available at the desk.]
No one inside. Not even a corpse. Faith clucked a sharp sound of disappointment. At least a corpse might have had a gun on it.
She moved to the desk, glancing over the monitors to take stock of the building. If there was anything on the desk - taped to the underside, hidden in a drawer - she'd grab that too. Judging by how the rest of them were looting everything in sight, she'd need the extra resources.

[OOC: Nagi motivates Malvin by promising to give his number if they make it out alive Finds nothing of use in the cubicle. Avoids going toward the east wall after mentions of blood and 'death mold' and begins searching one of the center-left cubicles.] Nagi managed a chuckle. A little flirting brought some levity to the tense situation they'd all landed in. And while he may have been blind, he could certainly hear the skip in the other man's voice. "Survival first," he agreed. "I'm Nagi, by the way. If we make it out of this, I'll give you my number. Consider that extra motivation to find us an exit." He examined the cubicle he'd found, and was mildly surprised to find that it was blind accessible. Braille and raised text. What luck that he'd stumble into the workspace of the company's vision-impaired employee. Too bad it didn't seem to contain anything of use; no keycards or tools, nor anything that could conceivably function as an improvised weapon. Just notes, and a small plaque on the wall that read "Keep Going". "The hell is that supposed to mean? 'Keep Going'? Motivational poster, I guess..." Nagi mused with a frown. He navigated his way to a center cubicle, one close to the door they came through - he had no desire to get any closer to blood stains or whatever 'death mold' was. The search for keys, cards or anything of use continued.

In Quality Documentation: Vegas investigates the last cubicle on the Eastern portion of the room. This cubicle has a collection of fantasy books in it, and a small figurine of a dragon on the desk. The notes next to the computer appear to be work-related and mean nothing to her.
She find a box-cutter sitting on the desktop, waiting for her.
Malvin investigates the central cubicle block, closest to the wall; this cubicle has several pens, scissors and paper pinned to a large pin-board. There are several binders filled with what is likely work-related data to the right.
A Note reads: Coffee, soda and energy drinks can increase awareness at the risk of decreasing health and mental well-being. Exercise caution. Malvin finds a keychain canister of pepperspray in the drawer underneath. It has exactly one good use.
Nagi checks the cubicle next to Malvin. The chair here is knocked over, and the desk appears to have some scratches on it. There is a single Bengal Bar on the counter. The Eastern wall behind seems to have some kind of hole. The hole is shallow, and fiberglass and concrete are visible here. It is unclear what might have caused this hole. In the Lounge:
Strid felt the thing pull hard against him, the door rattling open by a few inches, then slamming again. He was being dragged over the top of the couch, sweater tearing. The couch had began to creak ominously. It is clearly not made to barricade anything.
Jonny came to his side to aid him, and together, they pulled the door shut again, managing to jiggle the doorknob to the ‘closed’ state again. In the Security Office : Faith searches the security office. This is a large room lit by circular lights in the ceiling, giving the room and yellow cast. The walls are a sterile-looking beige. Directly across from the door into this room is a tall greyish desk, apparently deserted. The office chair behind the desk appears unremarkable. On investigation, there is a soft spattering of blood on the desk, barely visible when she looks more closely.
When she checks the desk, she finds a flashlight.
To the north is a small, enclosed space with a desk and chair, and a semicircular array of active feeds from monitors. Only a small number of these feeds appear to still be functioning, and the rest read “no input.” A dark stain is ingrained in the carpet behind the monitors. A keycard is found sitting on the desk here, it reads: Kevin Harkness: First Floor Mastercard Attachments:

[OOC: Strid thanks Johnny and suggests they find a place to lock the monster in.]
Keycards Connie Niels: Receptionist. Ralph Merlot: Quality Documentation
Items Small glass bottle Ballpoint pen Flat chocolate bar
Strid cursed as the door buckled and pulled inward. Bracing himself against the couch with his knee to keep from going entirely over, he stared at the widening gap with resignation. Another inch, and then another, the door opened wider. The sofa beneath him began to groan in protest. The damn thing was going to break under him at this rate.
And then there was another set of hands on the doorknob and a presence beside him on the couch. Strid's eyes flickered to his newfound companion - it was Johnny.
As the door slammed shut, Strid heaved a sigh of relief.
"Hey, thanks," he muttered. "But we better think of something quick, because this thing is figuring out if it pulls hard enough I can't keep it in. We're going to have to lure it somewhere else. Somewhere you need a keycard to open."

[OOC: Faith tells everyone to SHUT UP for a second and tries to use the keycard to access the stairwell. She will watch and listen before opening or entering]
Keycards: Abby Sinclair: Receptionist Kevin Harkness: First Floor Mastercard
Items: Stiletto high heel Stiletto high heel
At that moment, Faith came around the corner, armed with a pointed shoe and carrying a new keycard in her hand. She spared only a glance for the restrooms, assuring herself of the situation. But her pace never slowed. She power walked to the stairwell and tried the card.
"Quiet - everyone."
After waiting for the desired hush, she tested the door. Softly. Quietly. They might be in danger now, but rushing and recklessness never earned you anything but bruises and scars. Even if the door opened, she planned to listen, to look, and make sure there was nothing equally unpleasant on the other side.

"Ugh, yeah, dont thank me we still have to not die."
Jonny grit his teeth as he tried to keep the door shut.
"Maybe the door to the right- listen, lady, we can yell, they can't hear! We're allowed to yell, thing wants us dead."

[Faith goes in, checks the stairwell above and below for danger and lets the others know it's safe to proceed. She wants to go up.]
She slipped in through the door, holding it open with two fingertips. Let it never be said she was a coward. Faith peered up through the dark, down toward the ground floor, wondering if an exit could be found there. A debate for a safer time.
She poked her head out from the door and waved the others in. Looked like the hobo's jacket would have to be left behind. Faith made a snap decision. Even if down held the way out, there was no guarantee she had the keycard to get back through the ground floor door if she was wrong. Going up meant more opportunities to evade the many-handed thing if it came their way. For now, up it was. She began marching, following an uncomfortable feeling of rightness that came with the direction.
