[Stenson tries the northern purple door]
Stenson didn't quite hear a response from Viktoria, although he was quick to notice why. She'd gone back towards Cassius once they were through the door, and now that they were through, Stenson did look up. At first, he felt a moment of worry that they'd gone back outside by accident. The mist, where was it?
Looking around though, nothing about the area was even remotely similar to the outside of the factory. In fact, it was warped with illusions, a few of which had panic suddenly grip him. The sound of rushing water filled his senses, and it looked all wrong. They were in some kind of forest, and above were fish simply swimming through the air. Although, he also quickly realized he was not able to breath, which only worsened his sudden panic. The others seemed to disperse, Charlotte heading for the nearby lake to dunk her head, Hau first moving to the door from which they had come before heading for another door in the distance. His own lungs began to burn and he opened his mouth in a surprised, yet soundless choke. They needed to get out of here, and fast. Trying to focus, Stenson closed his mouth and held what was left of his breath.
Following Hau's lead, Stenson noticed a second door to the north by the cliff and hurried to try that one. If either he, or Hau could get the doors open, they might have a way out. He thought he knew why the girl had gone for the water, but fear kept him away from the water's edge for the time being.

[Viktoria, Zavijah, Cassius]
Map: tinyurl.com/y6246pjqCassius takes 3 damage from Marchelute's blow. Viktoria takes no damage. Zavijah takes no damage. Marchelute takes 3 damage from Cassius' blow. Marchelute takes 9 damage from Viktoria's successful flanking blow. ROUND TWO. FIGHT![Charlotte, Malgrim]
Map: tinyurl.com/y4b6a57dIt seems counter-intuitive to shove your face under water to breathe, but Charlotte's guess is completely correct. Although the water acts like water in every way - you can swim in it, float in it, and it enters your nose and mouth just like water would - you are able to breathe just fine. Your brain doesn't even have trouble adjusting, odd enough, and picks up breathing water as if it were old habit. The water is cool, clear, and calm. Perfect for swimming in. The only disturbance seems to come from the reverse waterfall as it pulls at the water at the far end of the lake, but it's never more than a minor nuisance. At the bottom of the lake, submerged almost completely in the sandy bottom, Malgrim notices the corner of what looks vaguely like a treasure chest. It seems like it will require strength to pull out and drag onto shore. [Hau]
The orange door has a lever handle and is not locked. It opens with ease, swinging inward to reveal darkness beyond. There is nothing malevolent about the shadows that fill the doorframe, and no sense of dread builds, but even light does not seem to penetrate the darkness while Hau remains on this side of the door. [Stenson]Map: tinyurl.com/y5o67pvmThe purple door has a knob handle and opens easily. From Stenson's side it opens only to darkness, deep and complete, though there is nothing foreboding about it. Of more immediate consequence is the fact that Casmir is standing in the doorway, standing atop a pile of crates and hand outstretched as if to open the door. The grizzled hunter is well lit despite the darkness at his back. Should you proceed through the door, you find yourself in the gravity room that Casmir has just come from. You begin in red position.[Casmir]Map: tinyurl.com/y4b6a57d
Your collections accomplished, you ascend your crate-tower and attempt to open the door. However, it opens of its own accord as soon as you get your hand near the knob. The reason why becomes clear immediately - Stenson stands on the other side, clear as day and perfectly lit despite the blackness that extends into forever behind his back. The gargoyle appears to be anxious and holding his breath.
Should you proceed through the door, you find yourself in the grove deep in a shadowed forest. The smell of earth and pine fills your senses. There are no walls, and the door you came through is embedded in the stone cliffside.
To the north and northwest, there is a rocky cliff (the black lines on the map), and in the middle of it is a waterfall. But like the last room not everything is as it seems. The waterfall runs in reverse - rather than fill the lake, it seems to originate at the lake and spills up the cliff and over, spraying foam on the rocky outcropping at the top. Despite it's constant run, however, the lake's waterline never appears to go down. The flash of silvery fish swim in schools, but this too is strange. Rather than in the lake, they bob and weave and flutter through the air. It's also about then that you realize that you can't breathe. The atmosphere acts like air, feels like air, breathes like air, and you are able to move around normally, but your lungs feel as though they are full of water.
Far to the west, hidden amongst the trees, is a red-tinted door that stands open. The sounds of fighting can be heard through it.
Far to the south, hidden amongst the trees, is an orange-tinted door that leads to darkness. Hau stands in front of it.

(( Grim tries to motion to Charlotte about the treasure then realizes they need muscle. Pulls his head out of the water to ask Sten.))
Grim eyed the treasure underneath the water, it had to either hold some treasure or be trapped to high hell. His curiosity ate at him, he had to know. Only problem was, lifting heavy things out of water wasn’t exactly on his resume. He motioned to the treasure, making sure Charlotte could hopefully understand. He tried talking to no avail. This was definitely a room he didn’t want to spend more time than he had to in. She didn’t look that strong either.
He pulled his head out of the water to rushedly say to Sten.
“Oi! Big guy! There’s treasure and air in the water. Could be important! Needs someone strong and gallant to go get it!”
He sat in front of the water gasping slightly with the lack of oxygen in the room.

(OOC: Cassius takes the blow like a champ, and then feints (16) and slashes Marche’s side (11 ). )
As Cassius leapt out of the way, he felt that he had moved just a hair too slowly. The tail whipped around with great speed and he watched as if in slow motion, as it caught his torso in mid-air. His feet had already left the ground, but now he was sailing upwards, and not of his own volution. He felt the great heat of the direct contact, softened as it was through the thick Kevlar, and within, the sickening pop of one of his ribs giving away beneath the blow. The pain came with a sudden sharpness, then came the aftershock of more pain.
But he was good at controlling it. He’d have to land, reposition, and strike again using the broken part of his body. He had done it before; he could do it again. This was nothing. A scratch. The power of the mind was greater than that of this worn and many-times broken body. Flip….
He landed on his feet, balanced by his free arm, but the impact of his landing came with a new wave of pain. The nausea and the sick jolt of his landing came with a wave of intense focus, and a touch of pleasure. Cassius, the monstrous wolf creature, grinned, grotesque and lopsided, flashing his sharp white teeth. His tongue lolled out of his laughing lupine mouth.
With gusto, he feinted forward(16), then slashed at Marche’s side(11). Cut the muscles allowing him to swivel. Disable him. Make him unable to chase them. He slashed with the sword, counterbalancing and guarding the blow with his free arm.

[OOC: Viktoria withdraws slightly so her monoknife doesn't get stuck in Marche's back, where she can't get it easily.] For GM :: Attack - 5 ]
The monoknife slid through the corrupted Marchelute's scales easily as a hot knife through butter, just as the feline knew it would. As the molecule-wide, laser-highlighted edge disappeared into the creature's flesh, she began to drag sideways, aiming for his spine.
But then, with the flurry of movement as he attacked Cassius, using his tail, the scarred feline was forced to take a step back, dragging her monoknife out with her lest she leave it embedded and harder to retrieve. She flicked the blade upwards at the last second, in case the lethal edge managed to catch Marchelute's tail as she retreated, but it wasn't an attack made with much intent aside from taking a chance.
Once Viktoria had placed a pace of distance, she drew her knifehand in front of herself, held ready for when she could get another good strike in, while also alert for the monster turning on her instead.

[OOC: Hau spots Casmir in the opposite doorway and doesn't trust the stranger, goes over to investigate but stays on the defensive.]
When the darkness didn't strike him as immediately ominous, Hau dared to stick his head through the doorway just far enough to grab a breath on the other side. Shadows had never inherently scared him since he had a built-in flashlight that he could summon at will, but this place was proving dangerous and hard to predict and fear kept him cautious. There was a flicker just above the kitsune's head as a pale blue flame ignited, shedding a little illumination on the room just beyond the doorway.
No sooner had the foxfire sparked than a breathy voice pulled Hau's attention. There was actually air in the pond? He turned back to the forest grove, immediately spying an unknown person framed in the opposite doorway. The stranger's presence, alongside Stenson's alarm, ruffled his mane. Trick? Illusion? Enemy? He wasn't sure.
Hau loped across the clearing but stopped short of the purple-tinged door, coming up next to Stenson instead, teeth bared in suspicion. He didn't have the breath to growl but his stance was stiff and his ears were pinned. The kitsune watched anxiously, waiting to see what the stranger would do, and counted down the time till he had to take his next breath.

[OOC: zavijah does not see where the knife landed (rolled a 4 for perception + 2 for a total of 6) has no idea if Marchelute has the knife or not, so she desummons the knife she threw and holds position to guard the doorway. . .]
zavijah:
She frowned straining to try and see where the knife landed. . . Steel was useless in this, though it did not hurt to try? . . .Then there was the point she did not see it. . . was there a chance the twisted form had caught it? The thought of arming the enemy did not sit well with her at all. . . .He might fight more like a beast- But he clearly shows that he has enough of himself in tact to potentially use weapons- should he desire.
At least from what she assumes. . . With a swipe at the talisman she used to summon it, she moved to desummon the knife she had thrown. . . The sword summoned for the officer's use, she know was from her scroll. . .
No potential from accidentally desummoning the blade from his use. . .
The knife, however, will be 'gone', back within the talisman. Either from the ground or wall were it had landed or else where. . . She did not want to arm the twisted form. . . This would not aid him. . .
She needs to look for an opening. . .She held her guard with the Greatsword, prepared in case the twisted form attempts to get past the other two to either attack herself or the others. . . Whatever struggles were going on in the next room, she highly doubted they would be prepared to deal with the enthralled guardian of the twisted forgotten temple. . deformed and mal-tended by the unnatural meddling of the very fabric of this realm. . .
Perhaps she could use a stench bomb to dull the twisted form's senses? . . . .Tis non leathal, though Viktorria and Officer Lucidus were too close- They would be struck by it as well. . . Not to mention that the wretched smell could very well give them away. . . .
Perhaps if the other two are far away enough from the unwilling guardian of this place. . .

[OOC: Marche-Monster shows no signs of backing down, and turns to attack Viktoria with a breath of fire. Magic Attack (Willpower) = 14]
There was a howl of pain, as warped and unnatural as Marchelute’s mutated form, as Viktoria’s monoknife pierced his armored hide. The pair of muscular limbs curled against his back unfurled, not into a set of great wings as they should have been - but instead a pair of jagged, mantis-like claws. Viktoria wrenched her blade free and leapt away just in time, as the savage limbs snapped out in automatic reflex. There could be no doubt that had she remained in close quarters at the beast’s back, the claws may well have trapped her in their deadly grasp.
Cassius was not out of the fight. He lunged again with another flash of steel, but Marchelute’s attention had already changed targets. The corrupted ifrit turned, regarding Viktoria for the span of a breath - a handful of seconds that seemed to drag on as he registered her familiar shape.
“Viktoria…” The beast rumbled, scarcely understandable around his fangs and tusks. “My friend… You shouldn’t be here.”
Green light flared brightly along the distorted runes upon his chest. Marchelute straightened his stance, took a sharp inhale of breath. A forward step, and the jaws craned open wide. With his exhale came a jet of green-yellow flames aimed to consume the space Viktoria occupied.

[Charlotte indicates that the water is good to breathe, then squints at the others to determine the best course of action.]
Charlotte squinted at Grim, unsure at what he was talking about, before catching sight of the treasure chest. Ah. A spark of curiosity once more was ignited, there must be something good in there, right? perhaps something to help them through this place. Or maybe, just something strange and weird. Maybe... proof. She pulled her head out of the water to agree with Grim.
"The water is breathable."
she hesitated when she saw the new man through the door. A potential enemy. Someone who may be able to help. She stuck her head in the water again to take another breath and then pulled it back out to watch the situation carefully.

[CASMIR speaks for a moment with STENSON, before throwing the other man into the gravity room.]
Casmir reached for the handle, pausing as the door swung inward. His arm snapped to the revolver at his side, though he stopped short of drawing it. What he saw, however, was the last thing he expected: Standing before him was the statue of an unassuming 30-something man, with close-cropped hair and glasses, dressed in the uniform of a WDSA member. It was such a strange thing to come across that the Hunter couldn't help but be taken aback by it. Stranger still was when it moved its granite arm to its side, and appeared to be... holding it's breath? Since when did statues breathe?
“Co do cholery*...?” he muttered in Polish, frowning.
The statue gulped a lungful of air in reply. “Who... are you?” it gasped, clearly struggling to hold its breath for some reason. Its hand remained at its side, near where the Hunter noticed a sidearm at the ready. Fortunately, it didn't seem to have an itchy trigger finger, but its mannerisms were so off-putting that Casmir wondered if this was some kind of trick. Curious, he closed his right eye, looking only out of his normal blue one; the “statue” now looked like a relatively normal humanoid, with gray skin and eyes the color of fire.
With those features, Casmir would have assumed he was dealing with a goblin or an orc of some kind, but the fact that his eye showed the other man as a statue, however... “Didn't know the WDSA had gargoyles in its roster,” he said aloud, taking an educated guess. It was the only thing that made sense. He moved his hand away from his revolver, keeping both arms spread slightly, to indicate he wasn't a threat.
"Yes...,” the other man replied with another gasp. “WDSA, officer Jones. Please answer the question... if you're in danger, you need to come with us. But if you're going this way, be careful because there is no air in this room."
Well, that explained the gasping and the holding of breath. Casmir opened his mouth to reply, when suddenly a bestial roar of pain, followed by a blast of fire reached his ears. The sounds were distant, possibly a few rooms over, but it was enough. Marchelute had to be over there, and he was fighting someone. Which meant Casmir needed to get over there, as well.
"Look, Jones; I don't have time to answer your questions, right now." Casmir replied, fixing the gargoyle with a sharp look. "Did you see a dog-like creature with white hair, black scales, and scythe blades? About 8 feet when standing?"
"Yes, he's this way,” Jones replied, gesturing behind him. “I'm assuming you're not like him? As in, not trying to kill people?"
"Depends on the people," Casmir replied. "Though if it helps, I'm not here to kill you. That said-" In an abrupt motion, the Hunter grabbed the gargoyle by the collar, then tossed him into the gravity room and shut the door.
(*-- "What the hell?")

[Stenson is yoinked into the gravity room by Casmir. He turns back and, with a fist slamming against the door for emphasis, tries to open it back up to return to the no-air room.]
Stenson studied the other man during their talk. He, too, had a similar reaction as Stenson in reaching towards his hip. The motion nearly completed Stenson's own reaction, but he held steady as they spoke. This man also wasn't giving him a name, but in the moment, that was no real matter. Stenson's primary concern was the safety of the others, and possibly this individual too if he did not have malicious intent.
Just then, in one unexpected motion, the man reached forward with only a quick, broken declaration and grabbed the collar of Stenson's uniform.
"AH- What!" Stenson gasped, stumbling forward and past the other man, "No, there's others in there!"
He turned to stop himself from falling and watched as the man went back through the door and slammed it shut. "No!" Stenson called after him, fearful that the door might lock him in the new room. It was dizzying, upside down seemingly from all angles. Even the little bit of what Stenson did notice about it made his head spin. Stenson hurried back towards, throwing a fist against it in frustration and then grabbing for the doorknob.
Please don't' be locked, please don't be locked... his mind begged as he turned it.

[Viktoria, Zavijah, Cassius]
Marchelute uses his fire breath on Viktoria. Tie goes to the defender. Viktoria takes no damage.
Cassius does not have enough cunning to successfully feint. His main attack misses. Marchelute takes no damage.
ROUND THREE. FIGHT!
[Charlotte, Malgrim]
Stenson seems occupied despite your calls. Perhaps it would be best to try another approach.
[Stenson, Hau, Casmir]
As Hau approaches, Casmir pulls Stenson through the door and shuts it behind him, leaving Hau and Casmir alone on one side and the gargoyle on the other. As suspected, Casmir finds it impossible to breathe in the new room, proving Stenson's words.
The closed door does not become an obstacle, as the door opens easily at Stenson's touch. Casmir and Hau are on the other side, just where Stenson left them.
The fighting continues on in the far room.

[OOC: Viktoria moves slightly sideways and ducks beneath Marchelute, driving her monoknife up into his throat. FOR GM: Attack - Strand point.]
The flames licked at Viktoria's side as she twisted away, having anticipated an attack from the creature who used to be Marchelute - after all, she'd driven a particularly lethal blade into its spine.
However, rather than place more distance between the flames and herself, the Terrine kept moving with her own momentum and came back towards the ifrit. She kept to his side, aiming to avoid any further flames, while ducking her body slightly to place her most definitely beneath the creature's head. There were no returning words, no sound of exertion or even a growl. The feline was as stoically silent as ever, taking no pleasure in what she needed to do.
With a short, sharp lunge, Viktoria then surged upwards as she came close to the scaled chest. Her knife was extended at arm's length above her, powered by the muscles in her legs as much as her arms, as she drove it up and into Marchelute's throat, right behind the jaw.

[OOC: zavijah summons another knife and throws it at Marchelute. (Rolled a 15, +2 for strength for a total of 17.) Aims to Cut through his tendons in one of his heels. ]
zavijah:
She frowned as the fight progressed. . . Leaving the door would open the way for the twisted one to venture towards the weaker of the group. . .She pondered before activating another talisman to summon a knife. . .a different knife. . She watched for an opening. Where she would not hit the other two. . .
When it seemed the time was appropriate, she threw the knife, aiming for the tendons in Marchelute's heels. . . The metal of the knife denser than steel. . . stronger than it. . .as sharp as the last one- shes always kept her blades sharp. . . If she aimed for his eyes, there was no guarantee that he would heal from such. If they can save him. . . the blade flew as Viktorria slid towards the twisted innocence's neck like a viper striking for the kill.
She could only watch from the distance she was at.
She did not intend on stopping her. . . . She was his 'friend' as he notion. . . Perhaps they had an understanding to undo the other to stop them from harming the others. Or perhaps from harming eachother. . . .Hopefully what she did, aids Viktorria and Officer Lucidus. . . .
The reaction of the others did not escape her attention either. . . .the room through the Red Door seems to suffocate them. . . If they gain a chance, perhaps they should attempt the other doors. . . .Based on what they've called out since the door is still open and she stood infront of the door. .

[OOC: Hau tries to freeze Casmir's feet to the floor to prevent him from doing anything else sketchy. Then he goes to the purple-tinged door to catch his breath. Willpower 12+2=14]
As the door slammed shut behind Stenson, Hau whirled toward the stranger, pushing out a snarl with what little breath he had left. In his burst of anger, ice crackled and snapped as it spread beneath the blond man's feet in a wide swath. Thick crystalline fingers lunged after his boots as he moved, trying to catch him before he could get away.
At best, Hau could snare him and keep him from getting within range of anyone else, in case he had any other nasty tricks up his sleeve. Then he could let Stenson decide what to do with him. At worst, Hau might only mildly chill the man's ankles. A moving target was always a challenge for him, but there was still that ring of slick, packed ice around him to contend with. Maybe he'd trip instead. One could hope.
Regardless, the kitsune backed towards the door, felt his tail brush the frame of it. His lungs were burning and wouldn't be ignored anymore, so he reluctantly pulled his attention away from the stranger and turned it to finding the door handle. To his surprise though, the door was already open. He was relieved to see Stenson seemingly unharmed on the other side. Hau stuck his head over the threshold, sucking in a greedy breath and exhaling a happy little noise, before turning back to see what had become of the blond man.
