"Wasn't planning on staying," Casmir replied, looking askance at the Gensai over the collar of his coat, and taking in his change in body language- he'd completely closed himself off, so whatever this "Guest" had done to him, it had to have been considerably worse than whatever Atol had put him through. The Hunter didn't really like the implications of that, given the state the red-haired pyro was in... Still, while something told him that this "guest" was something of the persistent type, the Hunter knew he couldn't do anything so long as Koji wasn't willing to talk about it.
"Didn't say I wasn't going to help, either," he added, turning his attention back to the wall and twirling the talisman around his finger. "I owe someone in your operation a... favor." Casmir's mouth thinned unpleasantly. "So, you might say I'm acting in a consultory sense. Unfortunately, I don't really like being told what I can and can't do, which is why we're having this conversation now, rather than under a gaggle of psychologists and your buddy the sunlamp." He pocketed the talisman then gave Koji a half-shrug. "'Better to ask forgiveness than permission.' You know how it is."
It was past time to go- there was likely a nurse or a delivery due any minute. "Since I'm sure you'll be telling him about this little visit," he said, letting the sardonic edge slip from his voice to be more sincere. "Maybe let that Agent of yours know about that 'guest.' I think he'd want to know." He quickly ushered himself out, hoping Sara wasn't "aware" enough to pick up on any of that- it wasn't really his place to try talking about Koji's problems on his behalf, after all. And besides, he'd have his own share of disappointment to serve up on a silver platter, as it was.
The Hunter took the toothpick from his mouth, speaking the runic phrase aloud, though in a hushed tone. In a flash of blue light, he was transported to the alley outside, where the other toothpick had fallen- a useful trick for a quick getaway he'd learned, which certainly came in handy for getting out of someplace in a hurry. He discreetly moved to a nearby access door, slipping his key in, and withdrew into the Safe House once he was sure no one would spot him.
Once inside, he took a moment to muse over Koji's situation: tortured, left for dead, and worse, Casmir had a feeling that he was ignoring a legitimate problem, rather than trying to do something to legitimately help the Gensai. 'Tch. Damned magpie did that to himself,' he groused, taking his coat off and hanging it nearby. 'It's not my business; if he's going to keep everyone else at arm's length, then he can do what he wants...'
Casmir pulled his breast pocket open with his finger. "Hey, Sara," he said, careful not to speak too loudly in case her current size was too sensitive to sound. "We're clear, you can come out, now."
