Sara's mouth opened, a question of whether the man was okay teetering on her lips. She'd clocked the hardened look in his scarred gaze, even despite her drugged haze. But when he finally admitted that nothing had occurred between them, all that escaped the shifter's mouth was a relieved sigh.
She scooted out of the way as the blonde stood, tucking her tail out of the way so that she wouldn't trip him - would be a shame to undo the benefit of her first aid skills, after all. As she watched him walk away, a limp in his step, Sara's focus was momentarily distracted by concern, which kept away the nagging question that had risen in the back of her head.
At least for a few moments.
She scrambled up to follow Casmir, then stood with one hand on her hip to address him once again. "'Ang on a tick, like." Her tone was markedly more sassy and less angry than before. "If ya still offerin', why aye I will take a coffee. But also, if all ya did was put us on the bed, then why was I naked, like?" Her hip cocked the other way, causing her tail to flick and adding even more to her sass. "An' who the..." Her gaze drifted to a set of sliding doors, voice beginning to fade, clearly distracted by whatever she'd seen. "'ell... tranqued.. me."
The sound of bare feet padding across the floor marked Sara moving elsewhere in the blonde's abode. She approached the sliding glass doors, her mouth agape, a breathy sound escaping that might have been the word 'wow' but was lost to sheer amazement. The dull, rhythmic 'thump, thump' of her tail against the floor indicated it was wagging.
Should he turn to look, Casmir would see the redhead near pressed up against the glass, completely transfixed by what she could see outside of it; swirling galaxies of light and colour, ever changing, ever swirling. As though she were seeing a version of the Universe, sped up in time to see how the galaxies moved against and between one another. There were so many lights, shining in that billowing sea. Too many to count, each as beautiful, to her, as the last. What was this? Was she still high?
"Eeee man, Casmir, Caz mate, are ya seein' this, like?" Even as she called out to the scarred man, her eyes never left what lay beyond the glass. Perhaps she should have been afraid, but all the shifter felt was a sense of wonder, which was reflected in the tone of her voice. "'Aven't a Scoobies if it's real or nowt, like, but cor blimey it's stunnin' owt there! What is it?"
Apparently, she'd forgotten she was supposed to be mad at him.

Casmir braced himself against the counter as he crossed the threshold into the kitchen. The injury was doing better already, as his equipment had taken the brunt of the Skinwalker's claws, but his runic defenses weren't set up to deal with those kinds of attacks, and his gear could only stave off so much of that level of strength; the less he stressed his leg, the better.
He began prepping a pot of coffee as Sara followed along behind him, scooping some Robusta beans into the filter- he preferred the bitter flavor and higher caffeine content over the sweeter Arabica type, as he'd never been one for sweets. The scent of the beans already gave him a bit more spring in his step, his anticipation for the cup mounting as the coffee maker did its job. The sound of Sara's tail dragging back and forth across the hard-wood floor of the living room, however, managed to draw his attention away from his impending cup of café noir, and he looked over to see her wagging her reptilian tail, face practically pressed against the glass. It was a sight simultaneously so absurd and endearing that he couldn't help the brief chuckle that passed his lips.
“It's the Universe,” he explained, setting a few mugs down on the counter, along with some sugar and creamer. “Or at least, a metaphysical representation of it that your mind would recognize. Our brains are rather interesting in how they choose to interpret things; you're getting a proverbial 'look behind the curtain,' would be the best explanation.”
Her eagerness was refreshing, and he found himself curious what the redhead was looking at that captivated her, so. “So, what do you see?” he asked, limping over and holding a fresh mug of coffee out to her.

When Sara turned towards the blonde to accept the coffee, the smile she gave him was nothing short of truly genuine. With her captivation of the sights outside still thrumming strong, the shifter had briefly forgotten that she was supposed to be mad at him. She cradled the mug in her hands, letting the warmth seep into her fingers and inhaling of that delectable caffeinated scent - which served to bring further happiness.
It was the little things.
"Eeee man," she said, looking back out through the glass, "it's swirlin' galaxies, like. Movin' faster than I imagine ya'd actually see, an' with these beautiful pinpricks o' light, ya know?" She was pointing with one hand now, indicating said light even though she had no idea whether Casmir could even see them. "Flashin' in an owt, spinnin' in part of a larger 'ole, like. Sometimes they're touchin' an' joinin', sometimes separatin' tah meet another, like. Why aye, reminds me of a dance, ya know? Would luv tah 'ave a propergander ower time an' see 'ow it- ah."
All of a sudden, Sara stopped talking, her head turning back to face the scarred man beside her. She tilted her head, no less enthused and most certainly curious. Though now that curiosity was focused right on him. "Why? What are you seein, like?"

Casmir blinked slowly, his eyes drifting to the window for a moment as he took a sip of his coffee. Then he pushed himself off the wall, passing by her as he limped his way over to the foyer. “That would have been the Beshilu,” he replied, picking up his boots and moving over to the sofa. “The rat-man. And you were naked because Delphi wanted to check your wounds and seemed to have a problem with the idea of letting me handle that.” He gave a brief chuckle as he sat down and began putting on his footwear, taking another sip of coffee and placing the mug down on the coffee table. “For being so unfamiliar with humans, she's certainly preoccupied with that little bit of social etiquette.”

At first, Sara wasn't really sure what her scarred companion was talking about. His answer didn't seem to match her question and for a moment she wondered if perhaps her sluggish brain had skipped some of the last few moments.
But then, she realised, he was referencing her half-formed questions, at the point she'd been distracted by what lay outside the windows. Turning where she stood, following Casmir's movements as she mulled his words over in her head and idly brought the mug to her lips; who was Delphi? What rat-man? He phrased it as though.. she... Should know..
A startling clarity sudden settled, as thought bursting through the confusing fog that had been dampening her thoughts.
Beshilu. The rat-man.
Her drugging, fragmented half-recollections of a predatory smile, Casmir's injury, her- her own wounds.
She nearly dropped her drink as a wave of dread and dizziness hit. The shifter laughed, but it wasn't in response to his comments regarding her naked form, instead the sound was breathless and shell-shocked. Sara's back hit the wall, as though she needed it suddenly for support and, given the way she slid halfway down to the floor, perhaps that wasn't far from the truth. "Fuckin' 'ell..." She didn't elaborate, didn't voice her sudden realisation of what had almost occurred, in an event she scarcely remembered. But it was all there, in her tone and the way one shaking hand raked over her features.
Yet it was the blonde's injury that still scared her the most; why would this man she barely knew have come to her aid? Especially after how they'd met. Given where the injury was, he could have died helping her! How could she have lived with that?
"Why'd ya come back for us?" She asked quietly, barely trusting her own voice yet finding her tone stronger than she expected. There was disbelief and worry in the sound, both regarding her targeting and his health in coming to help her. Then, because she couldn't help but ask, to give herself something less frightening to be distracted by, "An' who's Delphi, like?

As far as appearances went, Casmir seemed quite laid back. Under the surface, however, he was keenly aware of the woman when the situation hit her. Thankfully, she kept from dropping the cup, but he paused while lacing up his boot, regardless, keeping an eye on Sara's condition. Her skin paled drastically and she simply slumped to the floor, a nervous laugh escaping her mouth as everything caught up to her all at once.
“Why'd ya come back for us? An' who's Delphi, like?” she asked, clearly at odds with her emotional state. Not that Casmir blamed her, of course; the realization that you'd almost died was a hard one to just get over, after all. And she'd been short of food and water, besides. He'd need to address that before too long- the coffee would only offer so much by way of sustenance. Either way, it was quite a bit much to take in.
The Hunter opened his mouth to reply, when an unexpected sound like a door banging open drew both of their attention. From around the corner skittered a human-sized spider, though instead of having the head of an arachnid, there was a sixteen-something girl with long black hair and two pairs of blue eyes set in her face visible from the waist up. She was rather pretty - the bug-like features notwithstanding - and obviously eager to share something. “Casmir! I just got a lead! There's this guy named-”
She cut off with a startled peep, grasping her hair in her slender fingers as she noticed Sara sitting there on the floor. “O-oh! You're... you're awake! Um... ah...” the girl's eight legs fidgeted nervously, her eyes darting this way and that as she reflexively brought her hair up to cover her mouth, blushing anxiously. Clearly, the young girl hadn't expected to run into their house guest.
“This little ball of anxiety would be Delphi,” Casmir said matter-of-factly, gesturing towards her. “Delphi, this is our guest, Sara.”
“H'lo,” the spider-woman mumbled, clearly unsure of what to do or say and worried that the redhead would start screaming and throwing things at her.

If Delphi was worried about the redhead’s reaction, she shouldn’t have been. Rather than scream, or look in any way perturbed, Sara simply smiled. She’d been around enough supers, of all different breeds and varieties, to take most in good graces. If anything, there was a sudden light in her eyes, breaking through what had been shell shocked fright from her half-formed memories. A vibrant curiosity, directed right at Delphi. It helped that the spider’s shy anxiety was so sweet.
“‘Ello luv,” Sara said in response, her tone managing to be friendly and even borderline chipper, despite her internal, lingering anxiety of previous events. “Sorry if I spooked ya, an’ interrupted what ya were abowt tah say, like.” Given the reference to ‘a lead’, the shifter had an inkling she probably wouldn’t, and shouldn’t, be privy to what Delphi had been about to say. It wasn’t any of her business.
Instead, while she was present (and wasn’t sure she’d be able to get up off the floor, even if she wanted to, given how her limbs still trembled), Sara asked lightly, “If ya divvint mind me askin’, like, what are ya luv? Why aye, ‘ad a gander at a lot o’ supers in me time, but ‘aven’t seen anyone quite like you, ya know.”

“I-I'm uh... a-” the young girl stammered, moving closer to Casmir. The Hunter's eyes followed her, placing a hand on her shoulder and causing her to yelp in a mighty peep of anxiety-laced horror.
“Delphi is a Dryder,” he explained. “And she's exceedingly terrified of meeting new people, for obvious reasons. Most people wouldn't exactly be too keen on seeing a giant spider, after all.”
Delphi squawked and pulled away from the blond, smacking him on the side of the arm. “Don't tease me!” she cried, red-faced. “And I'm not a Dryder, that's just the closest thing your culture has to what I am! Do these look like elf ears, to you!?”
Casmir shrugged and the girl pouted, turning and dusting off her sundress. She gave Sara another wary look, her expression changing when she saw how pale and unsteady the redhead looked. She carefully skittered into the living room, placing her hand on the wall, a pattern of glowing white strings stretching out between her fingers. She then... pulled open a portion of the wall that morphed into the door of a fridge, reaching into the wall and pulling out a small plate of what seemed to be chocolates. Closing the door, she moved closer to Sara and placed it down in front of the redhead, still not-quite-looking at her.
“You should be more careful,” she offered, combing her fingers through her dark hair. “There were at least three times you could have died, back there.”
“Delphi,” Casmir warned, and the Dryder flinched, looking between him and the redhead, before scurrying away back behind the corner of the living room. The Hunter watched her go, arms folded over his chest, before letting out an angry grunt through his nose and a small shake of his head.

At Delphi's outburst, Sara found herself giggling with unconcealed delight at the exchange, even though lingering trembles tracked through her body in the wake of all that had happened - to her, the scene was unbelievably sweet to behold. It was the sound of verbalised starlight; bright and twinkling. Only when the not-Dryder approached the wall, morphing it beneath her fingers, did Sara fall into a state of quiet fascination.
She watched with a slightly tilted head and wide, gazing eyes, taking in every detail she could make out. A question formed when the shifter realised Delphi still wouldn't quite look at her. One she hoped would break the tension some, "What would you call yaself then flower? Oh-!" At about that moment, the redhead realised she'd been presented with a plate of chocolates. She beamed, reaching out for one to show how grateful she was for such a gesture and, again, hopefully quell some of the girl's worry. "Ta very much luv!"
As she popped a chocolate into her mouth, Sara's eyebrows shot into her hairline for two different reasons; primarily because dark chocolate with a tangy fruit cream filling was her favourite sweet treat, and secondly due to what Delphi had just said.
A flash of intense, focused intelligence flickered to life in the shifter's green gaze, as she assessed the dark haired girl. Her burning curiosity overshadowed even the thrum of anxiety that threatened, when reminded of recent hapoenings. Was Delphi a savant? Had she been given a rundown of transpired events by Casmir and determined various possible outcomes? Or possessed a form of premonition, like a seer, able to see variations of the future. Perhaps she could witness alternate realities when near a person? Or, given the blonde man's reaction, had she been simply trying to scare Sara for some reason, perhaps as a defense mechanism to account for her own nervousness?
The possibilities were many and varied.
With a wave of one hand, the shifter lightly chastised Casmir, "Eeee now, don't 'ave a go at 'er none. No 'arm done, like." Though it was, admittedly, a little startling to be reminded of her own mortality and how close she'd skirted to it (yet again), Sara tried instead to focus on her desire for knowledge. Not the dryness of her mouth, or how her pulse skipped a few beats. "Sounds like she 'as a reet crackin' ability or somethin', tah come owt with that, like."

Casmir looked askance at the redhead, his blue left eye peering at her. “Not this time, perhaps,” he replied cryptically, turning his attention back in the direction the young spider-girl had scampered off to. “That girl's still too naïve for her own good.”
The Hunter turned towards the sofa, snatching up his coat and tugging it on as he made for the doorway, pausing near the entrance of the foyer to look back at Sara. “Much as I'd love to continue this interesting little date of ours, I do have other things to tend to, and you're probably ready to go home?” He gestured towards the doorway. “I'll escort you back to your place, assuming you don't have any complaints. If you'd like, I'll even set up some extra protection for you. Should dissuade any other 'fans' of your show from dropping by unannounced, after performance hours...”
It was a bit of extra work for him, time that could be spent finding that new lead Delphi had mentioned. But Casmir wasn't quite convinced this business with Sara's attempted kidnapping was settled. That aside, dropping a young woman off in the middle of an empty warehouse, after dark, alone wasn't exactly the best of ideas, as far as he was concerned. This may not have been an official job, but he could take the financial hit in favor of easing his conscience, just this once.

The shifter's eyebrows shot into the red of her hairline, mouth forming a circular shape as she let out a soft, surprised (in a pleasant, grateful kind of way), 'oh!' at Casmir's offer. A second later, she was running a hand through the hair on the back of her head as she followed him to the doorway, glancing away as she debated her options.
Given what had occurred, she would need to head back to her mountain home and check in on Bruse - the poor spirit was likely worried sick about her. That meant a long trek back, especially because she would need to find her bearings from wherever Casmir's abode led back to. Easier done using one of her many animal forms but, as the blonde had just brought up, she might be targeted again on the way... Then again, could she put him out that much after he'd already saved her? Even if she did accept his offer, Sara had a suspicion her bond-partner wouldn't take kindly to an unannounced stranger placing 'extra protections' on the house, even if it was in best interests.
When she answered him, Sara looked visibly unsure, "Eeee now luv, I ain't sure I can put ya owt like that. Ain't gannin' te be a short trip, ya know? 'Ave tah git up tah the edge o' the forest, at the base o' the mountain, like." She glanced up, smiling a touch, "already done plenty for us, like."

Casmir raised an eyebrow at the shifter's response- apparently she seemed to prefer her privacy. Or, she was simply an avid nature lover; those animal forms of hers likely lent themselves to a preference for a more "frontier" setting.
'I really don't have time for this...' the Hunter groused, careful not to let his ire show too much- he had been the one to make the offer after all... And besides that fact, the woman's panicked response when she'd thought he was some stalker out to abduct her...
No, it was too much of a risk. Besides, there was the strong possibility that whoever the rat had been speaking to on the phone might have already been by to collect her. If they were keeping eyes on the area, he'd need to make sure to cover her. Letting her go alone wasn't really an option.
"I suppose I can handle a nature walk..." the scarred man replied with a half-shrug. "As long as we go nice and slow for my gammy leg, anyway." he patted his injured leg while giving her a wry smirk. "Besides, do you really feel up to making that trip alone? I'm pretty sure that tranq isn't fully out of your system, and that's besides the fact you haven't had anything to eat or drink for the past few hours..."
Casmir folded his arms over his chest. "Though, if you wanted to make it a quicker trip, you could always change into a horse or something. Can you do dragons or griffons, or is it just the more mundane animals, out of curiosity?"

"If a dragon or griffin gives us a live DNA sample, why aye, I could turn intah one, like." The shifter replied with a casual tone but a bright, vibrant light in her eyes and expression that spoke of how exciting she found her abilities and even the mere concept of forms she could attain. If given the chance.
Sara regarded the blonde for a while, after her initial powers-related response. She still felt the need to try and convince him not to come with her; feeling that she'd already been enough trouble, a burden. With a brief glance, she experienced yet further concern regarding the man's leg and the damage he'd sustained, thinking it unwise for him to walk so far on such a fresh wound.
Yet... there was a prickling sense of concern for her own wellbeing as well. For the attackers she scarcely recalled and the unknown surrounding what they wanted, how many others there might be. If she went alone, placed herself in potential harm's way without thought again, wouldn't that create more of a burden to a greater number of people? If she didn't come home, disappeared with no trace, what would Aaron think?
Worrying her bottom lip slightly with her teeth, the shifter glanced away and down, debating internally. Then, with a soft exhale and a gentle smile on her face, she looked again up at Casmir to say, "Alreet, if ya sure, like. Thank you." The sincerity in her thanks was blatantly apparent, but so as to not make her rescuer feel potentially awkward, the redhead injected a level of teasing humour with her next words. "Ya ain't gannin' te git a ride owt of us that easy though." With a flick of her tail and a poke of her tongue, she turned towards the door. "Need tah work 'arder than that tah git on top of us, like."
