Koji stood slightly apart throughout the introductions, a shadow in the background of their happy reunion. As it always did when his companions engaged in playful banter, the Genasi felt something inside of him twist. His gaze was halfway through averting when Yun stuck his hand out to him, too, stopping the Genasi's mood shift before it could fully form.
It was a simple gesture, nothing special about it, really. But the honest way Yun did it, the open invitation, made the forming knot untwist. Orange eyes flickered between Yun's face and his outstretched hand.
Koji hovered awkwardly, but after an uncertain moment reached out in turn. The handshake was as tentative as tentative got, but there was something in his eyes that might have been appreciation.
"Thanks for the invite."

Sara’s greeting, while it started in a similar way to the others, soon morphed into something quite different thanks to her shapeshifting powers.
She smiled broadly at Yun, her expression encapsulating her pleased excitement and joy at seeing him, but once their hands clasped together in a shake the woman’s form fell away. A small, flying squirrel soon scampered up the Gold’s arm, making a beeline for his shoulders. The shifter soon draped herself behind his head, her odd, scaled tail falling off Yun’s shoulder to rest against his chest, while her whiskered face tickled his cheek as she gave him an affectionate nuzzle. As her recovery progressed, Sara had begun steadily returning to her more playful antics and when the urge arose, she didn’t tend to hold herself back. Hence why, as she continued to sit herself upon the Gold’s shoulders, the shifter chittered with a sound akin to delighted, bubbling laughter.
It was good to see Koji’s reaction to Yun, as well. From her own experience with him, she’d expected the old agent to be a positive experience for the Genasi, it was nice to see things going well so far.
Today would be a good day, she thought.

Yun cracked into a ticklish smile as the squirrel draped herself around his shoulders. He scratched absently around her ears and muzzle, fluffing her whiskers where they brushed his neck.
"Anytime," he said. "But don't thank me until you've ordered. The food here's dangerous for first timers. How are you with spicy?"
Though the two men looked and acted nothing alike, one could see elements of Aaron's mannerisms in Yun - rather, the other way around. The way the old gold angled one shoulder in a silent invitation to walk, or the way he angled his head to converse with them, splitting his attention between the conversation and the destination without giving lesser importance to either.
"-all I'm saying is," he said, holding the door for them. "if it's red, nibble first and keep your drink - or napkin -" he nodded at Koji, "ready for emergencies. Aaron knows."
The agent nodded, his expression unchanged.
"I don't remember which dishes were dangerous though."

Dangerous? Koji's gaze moved to the back of Aaron's head as he followed the agent into the restaurant, seeking direction. But Aaron wasn't looking at him to catch his silent plea and Sara was an animal, so he couldn't turn to her.
"I've never had spicy food before," he said. "Is that going to be a problem?"

The shifter's response to Yun's ministrations was one of unconcealed, unapologetic enjoyment. There was something about the way human fingers could groom through fur that was near unmatched, a fact Sara had soon learned once her powers materialised. As such, she luxuriated in such attention whenever it was given.
As the group walked and conversed, Sara made a dextrous leap from Yun's shoulders across to Aaron's as the Gold held open the door, curling herself around the Agent's neck as though to become a living scarf.
Koji's question drew her attention, tiny ears and whiskers flickering as she considered transforming back to answer and reassure that not everything would be spicy. Yet, at the same time, it was good for him to converse with someone aside from either herself or Aaron, especially outside a work context.
So, one tiny paw patted Aaron gently on the face, drawing his attention so that she could gesture first at the Genasi, then at Yun, before her squirrelly digits made a very human gesture.
A thumb's up.

Aaron glanced at the tiny thumbs up with a faint smile. He ran a finger beneath the squirrel's chin, fluffing the fur. He could have answered. But he only turned his head slightly, participating in the conversation by his attentive air.
"Nah. It's an acquired taste," Yun said, ushering them inside. "We'll order mild stuff too. And extra rice so you can wipe the spice off. If it's too much - 네명이예요 -" he said to the hostess. Then back to Koji as they were led to their table. "Just spit it out."
He grinned conspiratorially.
"No judgment. Aaron doesn't like spice either."
"Your spice tolerance isn't human," Aaron said. He looked at Koji: "You take everything from the table. If you're not sure about it, just take a small piece."

Communal dishes, then. That made choosing his own a little easier, Koji thought, as he followed the others to their table.
Ah... The table. He didn't know where people intended to sit, or who would want to be next to whom, so Koji waited until everyone else had sat down, then took the chair that remained.
"What did you say to that woman?" he asked Yun, referencing his Korean.
