Stenson eats a bit of the candy. Again that incredible flavour coats his tongue as he bites into the chocolate, which turns out to be solid most of the way through, but with a creamy praline-type filling. Though this time two, perhaps even threefold in terms of how delicious it was, compared to the simple lick. His body is soon buzzing with... a sugar rush? No, a warmth… a heat even, spreading through his body, reaching even the tips of his fingers and toes. Yet, it isn’t unpleasant. If anything, he feels healthier and stronger than ever!
Team Hodgepodge go to the overgrown house. As the group cross the threshold they are met with a rather startling shift in humidity. The air around them smells damp, akin to a jungle or deep nest of ferns. A path carves a way through the undergrowth and foliage, but all around chitter insects and birds, accompanied by the occasional rustle of something bigger and unseen. While nothing appears immediately threatening, the whole atmosphere is unsettling and there is a constant feeling of being watched, or that something lurks just out of sight. The yellow vehicle turns out to be a school bus, or at least half of it, with trees growing up through and branches extending out of the shattered windows. One of the headlights is on, but the glow it gives off is dim and sickly. Large, unnatural fungi litter the ground, the trees, what look to be remnants of buildings. Yet, nothing comes out to snatch them, save twigs and branches that pull and tug on their costumes. The children reach the front door and knock. But then a clicking starts. Arhythmic; growing louder and faster for a few seconds then peetering off and slowing a moment later. There is more rustling in some bracken nearby when the door opens. A bearded man, dressed in a khaki shirt and with a fake gun holstered to his hip, opens the door. He glances around, then down, eyeing each child’s costume with a stoically neutral expression. The clicking sound continues unabated. When he does speak, its gruff but gentle. “Not bad, not bad. You wouldn’t scare what I’m looking for, but you’re on your way. Take these, for the road. Lord knows you’ll need ‘em.” With that, he dishes out three candies to each child.
But when the party make their way out of the property, the clicking begins to grow louder, as though something were getting closer, possibly following them. They can vacate before it reaches them, but a large group of costumed teenagers (based on their heights and the volume of their whooping and hollering) flood past the pavement area just outside the gate. While they mean no harm by the looks of it, and are instead excited about wherever it is they’re going and whatever it is they’re doing, their size and exuberance causes trouble for Team Hodgepodge. Stenson, Zavijah and Sara are unable to get clear in time and are swept first into the teen group, then further on into the bustling crowd.
Stenson is knocked, but after going only a few steps down the pavement, he shoves out with one hand instinctively and quite literally flings one of the teens away from himself. They don’t seem to particularly care, joining up with their fellows as though they hadn’t been lifted off the ground and thrown down the pavement by a simple shove. Stenson might find himself wondering how could he possibly be so strong as a child? At this point, he is pressed against the fence of the overgrown house a little ways away from the rest of the group. Easily visible to everyone else.
Zavijah is taken further afield, but the top of her dragon costume is still visible, just about, in amongst the melee of children and adults. With the houses still easy to spot, she can try to make their way back towards the group should she wish to attempt it, or the group can try to come to her.
As for the third, the shifter, she is completely knocked off her feet. The xenomorph is soon lost to the thronging bodies of multicolour and does not resurface. Even when the teenagers are long gone, even when partings in the crowd appear and a fair amount of time has passed, there is no sign of her.
Sara is missing.
Team DisneyShips go to the lantern house. Everything in this location is of an oriental, Japanese style. From the decorations, to the rock gardens and species of trees. Even the path, elevated onto a wooden walkway and with railings on either side, is more reminiscent of oriental culture. Everything appears darker here, the wind through chimes in the trees that little bit more ominous. When Raine knocks upon the Shrine door, there is a flash, like that of a camera, from a small panel at the height of their heads. A moment passes, before the whole thing slides sideways to reveal an old woman, knelt upon a small cushion, right in the doorway. She does not raise her head, but extends both arms and silently deposits four candies per pail. As the door slides closed, the edges of a wide, unnerving smile can be seen on her features. After the group receive their candy, something emerges from a tree beside Ari. Long arms extricate themselves first, tipped with wicked talons, before a black haired head just a moment later. It doesn’t speak, mouth open in a silent moan or scream, but reaches forward for him. Claws reach around, encircling his head. But before they can close, the fleet-footed shifter notices and dodges out of the way. The creature - a slim and ghostly female figure with tattered robes and a twitching head - retreats as soon as he is clear, juddering back behind a sliding, fake section of the tree as an… animatronic? Ari would distinctly remember how real it had seemed not a second prior, however.
Kail would find himself in a tricky spot just a second later. As soon as the group begin to vacate that property, another group of children, smaller than themselves and carrying far more candy in their pails, run up the path. Up till now, none of the milling crowd had entered the houses at the same time as the former adult supers, but now they find themselves face to face with a pack of them. No less than five. They clock the young wendigo and almost in unison, squeal at his costume, clearly excited and besotted with it. Kail finds himself overrun by the excitable group of youngsters a moment later, who giggle and pull at his sleeves. A couple even climb all over him, the combination of their weight easily enough to send the wendigo staggering given his smaller self. They steer him, back down the path, out the gate and right towards the larger crowd of people. The whole time they chatter excitedly, about ‘showing the others’ and ‘look at the spots! Cute Bambi! Cute!’ Amongst other things.
On Team DisneyShip’s side of the road, beside the lantern house, there is another property - quite a few many more in fact, stretching down the length of the street. There is the crowd to consider however. The one next door to the oriental property is grey and industrial, with yellowed windows that occasionally blare with a bright blue light. Piping of a green substance run outside of the walls and then disappear back into the property. While not in the traditional sense perhaps, this building gives off the air of a laboratory.
While on Team Hodgepodge’s side, there is still one more house - the homely and softly lit one - before they reach the connecting road to this street. Beyond that, a house surrounded by chain link fence can be made out.
Cassius now has 11 pieces of candy. Stenson now has 10 pieces of candy. (one bitten) Kail now has 11 pieces of candy. Aberdeen now has 11 pieces of candy. Aaron now has 9 pieces of candy. Data corrupted now has 9 pieces of candy. Hahn now has 9 pieces of candy. Dust now has 8 piece of candy. Zavijah now has 9 pieces of candy. Simon now has 8 piece of candy. Raine now has 11 pieces of candy. Ari now has 11 pieces of candy.

[OOC: unammused that she was dragged off abit by the bustling group, she notices although she was not that far away from the group, Sara was missing. zavijah makes an attempt to call out to Sara to see if she could answer back, and from what direction. (Edit) Before starting her way back towards where the rest of team hodgepodge is.]
zavijah:
she flailed abit as the sudden crowd of people shoved through their group and she was pushed long away from the group. . . she did her best to work against the group before thankfully she was no longer being dragged along. . . looking around, she tried to see where the others might be, before noticing Stenson's hat, one of the kids' strange bird like mask, and Sara's husband's strange head piece of his cowl? but she does not see Sara's tail. . . she grimaced. . .was she taken as well? "Sarah?" she called out. . . when the crowd thinned. . .it became clear that yes. . . not only was she no longer with the group. . .she was gone. . . "Sara!" she called again.
hopefully the small puppy was not trampled by the stampede of people. . .she started her way back towards the rest of the group.

[OOC: Aaron is alarmed by the Sara-napping and asks Simon to track her scent.]
"Hey - HEY."
Aaron's bark of alarm and outrage - a voice that could have easily sent a small crowd flinching in its adult state - could barely be heard above the teens as they mowed into the group. Costumed feet stampeded past. The whoops and yells faded into the distance. And then it was just the group of children scattered in the street. The agent turned on the spot, taking a frantic headcount.
"Sara?" He scanned through the mob of teens, the dispersing crowd, looking for some sign of a xenomorph costume. "Sara!"
No answer. The dragon was calling too, with no success. Aaron's breath was frozen in his chest. He forced himself to breathe, to think while he scanned the street. If Sara was caught up in the crowd, involuntarily - or forcibly, came the horrible thought - she could've been taken any which way. They needed to narrow down the possibilities. Stupid, he cursed himself. He should have put a light on her. Stupid.
Aaron swallowed the rising stress, his mind racing through their options. It wasn't too late. She'd only just disappeared, so they couldn't have taken her far. The group should be able to track her.
"Hey," he crossed to the puppy and knelt in front of it. He didn't know its name, and it didn't seem...entirely there for a super. His hands took gentle hold of its ruff, forcing it to focus on him. "Can you track Sara? Can you find her scent?"
He jabbed a finger at the patch of street where he'd last seen her, praying the dog understood him. "Sara," he repeated urgently. It might be condescending for a sentient creature, but he was beyond worrying about tact.

{OOC: Simon agrees to help find Sara, and picks up her scent}
The puppy did his best to not get trampled, dodging feet and tails, baskets and bags.
It was a bit startling when Aaron grabbed him buy the scruff, but he was happy to see him. His tail started wagging, until he noticed Aaron wasn't happy. Simon tried to help by licking his face. He kept saying Sara. Sara... Wasn't that his other new friend? Where was she? The puppy eyed where he was pointing, and went to sniff there. Oh yeah, that was Sara smell! The puppy started trotting off, having found the scent, nose to the ground. He paused a second, and barked at Aaron. Follow him!

[OOC: Aberdeen follows after the group of children, running if he has to, in order to catch up and not loose sight of Kail. Once he catches up to the group, he tries to get the children to let Kail go or to somehow put himself between Kail and the children (rolls 4 for this, should obviously stick to swearing at children). Nøkk to the rescue I guess?]
Barely had they gotten their candy, before another crowd of children stormed up towards them. Their behavior was different. They were excited, eager. Perhaps they belonged to this place.
Before he could even register it, the crowd of children were herding Kail away, overly excited little things they were, squealing and chanting as if the wendigo was some novelty, some new toy they couldn’t wait to play with and prod at. They had no idea what they were dealing with. Abderdeen barely thought before he set off after the group of children, running when he needed to, his cheap cape fluttering uselessly in the air behind him, knowing that he couldn’t loose sight of the wendigo. The simplicity of this event had shattered, finally. It didn’t surprise Aberdeen, it had to happen sooner rather than later. But that still didn’t change the fact that Kail was the only one the nøkk knew well in this place, and thus the only one he figured he could rely on. He refused to loose sight of him. Already he cursed this place for his disadvantages, how much slower he was in this form. The last time he had at least had his regular vessel, a body he knew how to use. This was useless to him.
“Kail!”, He called out trying to get the wendigo or the children’s attention. Perhaps it would confuse the children enough for them to stop for a moment. Just long enough for him to have some kind of chance to do something.
“For fanden-! Forbandet, ubrugligt yngel-!“, Aberdeen muttered curses through gritted teeth, knowing that no one else would understand them. None of them saw him, not a single one turned to look at him. Even as he tried to push his way through the crowd, his actions leaving gentleness to be desired, there was no reaction. He had no desire to be careful with these children, knowing all of this was fabricated.
“Let him go! Now!”, he was yelling at turned backs, words falling on deaf ears, but that didn’t mean he stopped, this was too familiar, “let go! Move!” For a moment, his voice changed, morphing into something much more inhuman, sounds dragged out, becoming wailing, haunting and hollow, even if only for a second. The skin beneath his eyes distorted, discoloured, and it was gone with the next blink. As if nothing had happened.

[ Ari wants to NOPE away from the Fatal Frame house, and when Kail is herded off, he (holding onto Raine) follows and threatens the Thieving Children with the Wrath Of Parental Authority (roll of 12) ]
Ari accepted his candy from the old woman, mumbling his thank-you's and taking a step back - he meant to leave quickly. The house unnerved him - it seemed tranquil, but the bright flash of a camera going off and the chill of the air... it made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. He had just begun to turn away when he saw the thing that was behind him, reaching for him with spindly arms and a silent, gape-mouthed scream. The shock of seeing it was like being dropped into icy water, he made a small high noise and all but leaped away from it, scrambling around behind Raine.
He gripped tight to Raine, readying to bolt and drag the red-head with him if he had to, but when he looked wide-eyed at the ghost again he saw... it was a fake? The chill he felt didn't seem fake, but the buzzing unease in his head slowly cleared to a more regular sense of panic. He felt foolish to have been so scared by an animatronic, but he was still uncomfortable.
"Let's-Let's go, please?" His claws curled in Raine's poofy sleeve and he tugged, wanting to get away from the creepy puppet and the house. As they made their way back toward the sidewalk again, however, a group of children mobbed them. He clung tighter to Raine, but the children were focused on Bambi, bouncing around him, and then beginning to herd him off. His grip tightened on Raine's arm again, not wanting to get similarly separated, but he began to hurry after them, calling: "Hey! S-Stop! He needs to stay with his-with his group! His-His uh... His parents will be angry, if he gets separated! So! Let him back!"

(Cassius realizes that the Sara part of the group has gone missing, and pauses a moment before moving onwards towards the homey and softly lit house. They have not moved on too far from the rest of the group).
Cassius was on a mission. After collecting his candies and bumping into the other group, he waited for the chaos to sort itself out, and then reassembled the group. One was missing. Sara. He sniffed, as if he was still a wolf, and scoured the group of older boys for anyone, but did not see them.
He noticed that Aaron and the puppy went to find Sara. They were the best suited to recovering her, if she could be recovered. She had just disappeared, after all, and that means she can come back. He looked over to the homey house. They could collect more candy, group-willing, and then cross the street to get more items on the other side. It looked like the other group had already made their way there.
"...We...should not linger too long."
The officer seemed oddly serious. The game was gaining momentum, and soon all hell was going to break loose. It was just a matter of time. He knew as much. There was a chance that Sara would never come back. He did not want to abandon her, but he did not want to risk everyone either.
He headed towards the homey and softly lit house. Perhaps it had a surprise waiting. He'd both be surprised, and not so surprised if that was true.

[OOC: Walter watches Stenson for signs of side effects from the candy, and gets startled by the sudden gang of annoyingly oblivious teenagers. Avoids getting swept up himself, and suggests to Aaron that Sara might have just been caught up and could possibly meet up with them further ahead. He tells Dust to stay with him, and then makes to follow Cass to the Homey House.] ---
Walter had just been contemplating the nature of the candy when, without any prompting from the group, the grey-skinned cowboy just up and ate one! Well, that was easy. Now if only he had his notebook...
As the group continued back down the overgrown path, the doctor kept a close and watchful eye on the grey child. The plague doctor mask gave his stare a creepy, hollow look, what with the darkly tinted goggles, the muted glow of his left eye and the wide hat further shrouding his mask in shadow. Walter listened intently as the boy went on and on about how good the candy tasted, and his conclusion that they were safe. Already his mind was a whirl of speculation about the candy's possible effects. If they were as magical as they looked, the potential side effects - both good and bad - were effectively limitless. And would every candy have the same effect? Could they vary? Were they addictive? So many questions. Walter didn't even register the sound of the clicking that tailed them out of the garden, he was so distracted.
But upon stepping beyond the garden home's front gate, his wondering was abruptly interrupted by a passing throng of noisy teenagers. The yelp of a sound he made as he scrabbled out of the way of the rowdy teens was not one he was very proud of, but at least he managed to avoid getting trampled or swept into the crowd. Others of the group were less fortunate, and they were quickly separated.
"Unhöflich..." he grumbled and went to regroup with Dust and the others. But it seemed someone was missing. The little alien-dressed girl was noticeably absent. Lost in the crowd perhaps? The agent boy seemed to think so, was quite visibly upset and was already taking the puppy in an attempt to search for her.
Walter eyed the bustling crowd with reluctance. He did not fancy the idea of getting caught up among the tightly-packed bodies of total strangers, especially while child-sized. He was equally dubious about the notion of splitting up, if the agent's earlier warnings about deadly traps should prove true. And yet, another of their number was already moving ahead, splitting the group still more.
"Perhaps she vas simply caught up, und vill meet us furzer ahead," he suggested calmly to Aaron. Panicking and splitting up wasn't going to help anyone. The doctor then tapped Dust on the arm, and motioned to the next house ahead - one with warm, homey decor and an inviting air about it. The wolf-dressed agent was already heading that direction. "Staub, komm mit mir," Walter said, before starting off down the footpath to the next house, wary eyes on the crowd to avoid getting caught off guard again.

[Stenson chooses to follow Simon after Sara, whichever direction that may be. He hopes Cass can take care of the others who are headed to the warm homely house. He saves the rest of his candy for later if needed, stowing it in a jean pocket.]
As expected, the flavor of an actual bite from the candy was impossibly better than just the taste. Stenson chewed slowly, eyes squeezed shut as if in pain as his mind and senses struggled to take in the explosive flavor. He felt momentarily stunned by it, unwilling to swallow the bite but his grumbling stomach insisted that he forfeit the morsel eventually. Even the clicking sound went unnoticed while Stenson was overwhelmed by the sensations of the candy. When at last he opened his eyes, he let out a gasped breath and stared with a widening grin at the candy. Immediately he felt incredible, his body feeling so full of life and health! If he wasn't sure about the safety of the candy before, he was certain now that it was not only safe but perhaps even helpful.
Just then, as he walked with a brisk pace to keep up with the others, a squall of shouting excited voices suddenly overtook them as they stepped onto the sidewalk, bowling into most of their group. Stenson gave a yelp of surprise as a gangly teen plowed into him, raising one arm to his face instinctively to protect his glasses and shoving out with the other to try and deflect the teen's momentum. Unfortunately for the teen, Stenson did much more than that. The moment he shoved out, the teen was lifted from the ground to sail forward into the rest of the pack, tumbling into the backs of the others before all picked themselves up from their tangle of limbs and continued on as if nothing had happened. Stenson stood with his arm outstretched, leaning against the fence and staring at his hand as if he had no idea what the hell it even was. He just-...THREW that teenager!? But..he was only a child? He glanced once more back down at the candy, fixing his skewed glasses and was convinced that the candy had given him some kind of super strength. This, he knew, could come in handy later on. Without a second thought despite the major temptation to down the whole thing in one bite, Stenson placed the partially eaten candy in its wrapper and stuck it in one of the cowboy jean pockets on his hip for easy retrieval later on.
"Sara?..Sara?...Sara!" Zavijah and Aaron both called. Stenson looked left and right up and down the path, trying to spot the raised xenotail that Sara had been using to guide the others, but it was nowhere to be found. This wasn't good, Sara was missing! Stenson sprinted to Aaron's side, still feeling so full of energy and strength, but it was hard to savor that feeling knowing one of their own could be in danger. Aaron already had the small pup that had been following them by the scruff, insisting that it help them track Sara down. The moment he released the dog, it began to sniff excitedly with tail wagging before stopping to bark at the others. "I think he's got her, Aaron!" Stenson exclaimed, hurrying after the pup. The houses and candy could wait, and he hoped the others following Cassius could hold their own if anything happened. Sara was now his top priority.

[OOC: Dust tries to locate Sara with heat, but fails. He automatically follows Hahn to the next house but keeps a careful watch on Aaron over his shoulder.]
Everything seemed to be going fine, right until it wasn't. What seemed like an innocent gathering of teenagers swiftly became an obstacle as members of their party were caught up and swept away into the crowd. Dust didn't perceive it as dangerous - inconvenient, sure, but lethal? - until they all realized seemingly at once that Sara wasn't with them anymore.
Sara. Dust had no immediate concern for her, but she was Aaron's mate, if Dust recalled correctly - she was important to him. Dust's gaze slid back to Aaron, noting the less-than-subtle signs of distress running through his frame, then shifted his gaze back to the street. The puppy would provide a useful tool in tracking her scent, for while Dust had an acute sense of smell better than a human's it wasn't enough to differentiate a single scent in a crowd like this. Instead, he tried to focus on any heat signatures of Sara's approximate size, but there were too many people and the warmth of their bodies created a mass that was not easily identifiable.
Dust clicked his tongue in annoyance, but any further consideration for how he might help was swept away when Hahn touched his arm and drew his attention. The ex-assassin turned his head toward the doctor, his heart immediately sinking at the clear instruction to keep moving. His body turned to follow Hahn without his consent, but his gaze was fixed in Aaron's direction. The only two people he cared about protecting had chosen opposite sides and were headed in different directions, and Dust found himself at a conflict of interests. Follow his instructions to return to the game with Hahn, or follow his heart and go back to try and help Aaron.
Dust's feet continued to take him after the retreating Dr Hahn, brightly colored pail held between both hands, but his shoulders were hunched and he kept shooting glances at Aaron to make sure he was still alright.

Kail attempts to break free of his captors, with spoken help from Aberdeen, Raine and Ari. The wendigo’s struggles are in vain, with the children simply moving to new parts of him as he tries to shake them and ignoring the words of Raine and Aberdeen. Only Ari causes them to pause for a second, the talk of parents and being in trouble enough for one of them to hiss in whispered tones to the others. At this moment, Kail’s struggles are met with a sudden lack of resistance from his captors; his arm swings wide and the uncoordinated force of it knocks a candy pail from one of their hands, scattering the contents across the street. A beat of silence, a strange distortion in the air. Then, every single adult and child on that street, at exactly the same moment, stop in their tracks. Their heads turn as one, regardless of the body was doing, and stare at him. Another beat of silence. ”Do not steal candy." An order. Flat, emotionless, a chant in a unison of voices, while every person continues to stare. Though they do not move. Kail’s captors included, have stopped moving.
EVERYONE PRESENT hears the "Do not steal candy" chant and can see the people have all stopped moving.
Simon tracks Sara’s scent. He is successful and it’s helped by the fact every single person in the street is now stood still. Staring at a certain Bambi-inspired-wendigo. Her scent is strong, given she has only just disappeared. It leads onto the connecting street, sweeping around a bend in the road, where it suddenly changes. Now, though there is still the underlying scent of Sara, the smell has taken on a more animalistic, reptilian edge. It leads on, up this new street, which is similarly lined with decorated houses. The difference here is that the street ahead is clearly filled with adults, rather than a mix of adults and children. All of them are still frozen, heads turned in the same direction. As such, the street is eerily silent.
Aaron begins to hear voices in his head. Or rather, the hissing sounds of a wounded animal. They do not sound from around him, but right inside the agent’s head, quiet but unmistakable and incessant. Familiar. The farther he follows Simon and presumably the scent trail, the louder the sounds become. Still quiet for the moment, but easy to hear now that the street is deathly silent. Over time the cries and moans become frantic. When, all of a sudden, they shift. A woman’s cry; a desperate plea for help; his own name. All said in a voice he knows, oh so well, despite how much younger she sounds now.
Aaron, Stenson and Simon (Team Bros) were following Sara’s trail, if they decide to continue, they will separate from the other group and join the new street.
The rest of Team Hodgepodge (Cassius, Hahn, Dust and Zavi) approach the homely and well-lit property. With everyone in the street now stopped dead, the group have no trouble making their way to the house without getting separated. The property itself is decorated with an array of less frightening Halloween decorations - pumpkins, branches with golden leaves woven in a tapestry and full of twinkling lights, willow branches woven into pumpkin and cauldron shapes, candles, cats sat with paws delicately placed in front of themselves. Gentle scents of baked goods and sugary sweets drifted over the breeze to them. Not a jumpscare or creepy monster in sight. When the children reach the front door, they will realise the entire frontage seems to be made of gingerbread! The smell was near overpowering with their noses so close, but the porch seems to support their weight well enough, despite what it is made of. A knock upon the door - by Dust this time - proves the treat was as hard as any wood. The sounds of shuffling feet can be heard from the other side and when the door opens, an old, kindly woman stands within the frame. She immediately begins to coo over the children and their costumes, before commenting that they are ‘far too thin’ and ‘that just won’t do’. She hands out one piece of candy to each child, commenting, “Apologies dearies, my supplies at the door are running dry, but.. If you’d like to come in, I have more you could take?” She then motions with a hand, keeping the door open and offering for the group to come inside.
Cassius now has 12 pieces of candy. Stenson now has 10 pieces of candy. (one bitten) Kail now has 11 pieces of candy. Aberdeen now has 11 pieces of candy. Aaron now has 9 pieces of candy. Data corrupted now has 9 pieces of candy. Hahn now has 10 pieces of candy. Dust now has 9 piece of candy. Zavijah now has 10 pieces of candy. Simon now has 8 piece of candy. Raine now has 11 pieces of candy. Ari now has 11 pieces of candy.

[OOC: Kail is Very Freaked Out but also salty because hey, for once he wasnt actually stealing! He stays still and silent in order to avoid triggering the crowd, but is ready to start throwing punches]
The children didn't stop. Whenever he went to growl at them they simply chattered over him, and when he baulked and pulled back they just pulled forward with surprising strength. He was at a loss at what to do, at first, and then there was one hand too many on him and he snapped his teeth, shoving hard at the nearest child , scattering their candy across the street.
Immediately, every head in the crowd snapped in his direction. He froze at the feel of the many hostile games pinned solely on him, and even more so at the chant spoken in unison that followed. For a few split seconds he stood wide eyed and confused, panicked.
A heartbeat later he narrowed his eyes, lips peeling back to bare his puppyish fangs in a show of startled but fierce aggression. His entire body was tense and coiled, ready to run, to fight, but he didn't know who he'd start with if they did attack. There were too many of them, and for the time being he simply stood there and snarled silently at the crowd, staying as still as they were, his hackles raised and ears flatter then they'd been all night. He was worried that if he moved, hed trigger them to charge.
Bastards. He though, almost petulantly. He hadn't even been stealing - had been planning it, sure, but if the little turds hadn't dragged him off he wouldn't have made them drop their precious candy in the first place. He side eyed Abby, before his poisonous gaze was back on the crowd, scanning the blank faces with an unsettled anger.

[OOC: Dust gets the heebie-jeebies, then leaves the house to find Aaron. He makes a request to Hahn to come with him but won't force anyone. Regardless, he goes to regroup with the others tracking Sara and calls out to Aaron to wait.]
It began as a tickle in the back of his neck and a metallic, coppery taste on his tongue. It wasn't fear, not exactly, but a shot of adrenaline that came with being completely and thoroughly unsettled. It wasn't the treat-like house or the kindly woman on their own, but the overall feeling of the gaping entrance of the doorway behind her. Something bristled up his spine.
It was Dust's experience that the sweeter someone looked, the more malicious they could be. Beauty hid nastiness in most humans, and these characters of the dream were probably no different. He decided to trust his instincts rather than lean on logic, and that decision was further cemented when the entire street stopped in their tracks and began to chant. Something was happening. It wasn't remotely normal, and he didn't like the look of it. His stomach churned and his gaze immediately sought out Aaron.
Only, he didn't see the agent immediately.
The emotions that caused were varied and complex and Dust did not have the capacity to completely understand them, but they did decide his next actions. He turned to Hahn. "Do not go inside, Doktor. It's not safe," he said and took the steps down, off of the porch and away from the woman who set his teeth on edge with her offers. He had Hahn by the sleeve and was neatly trailing him behind like a kite. "We need to regroup with the others. Being separated in an unknown situation decreases the success rating of a mission."
Straight, calculated, understandable. But the facts were not what was powering his motivation. Dust didn't begin to feel a little better until he had reached the end of the walkway and he did finally locate Aaron, who was standing at the bend in the street. The fact that the agent was on the edge of the zone, teetering on the area he was not supposed to go into filled the asset with a new dread, however. There was always punishment for deviating from instruction.
"I'm going to regroup with Aaron," he said, and he looked back at Hahn, imploring him to follow. If the scientist persisted on trick or treating he would not stop him, but Dust would not follow. "I don't like this. I have - a bad feeling." Not words he would have imagined himself saying, but there they were. Dust glanced at the rest of the group, then parted from them and went in Aaron's direction, calling out to them to wait.
